I love wearing my pale pink shirt and only tend to do it when I want to look great for a event. I like the color and it always makes a good impression.

That sounds like a fantastic choice. A pale pink shirt can really elevate a look for special events. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent video. I would personally add to this list a winchester shirt, white pin collar shirt and light blue pince of wales check shirt

Very nice choices. I am particularly pleased that you recommended an off white shirt, though they are pretty difficult to find where I live outside of made to measure or bespoke shirting.
The only thing that I would have liked to see you do was to style the OCBD with a tie. I know that it’s not a generally accepted shirt to wear with a suit and tie, but Americans have been doing it for decades. Alan Flusser did it in his 1985 book “Dressing the Man.” As the world has only gotten more and more casual, certainly the barriers against the OCBD ought to be relaxed.

Great content with each example illustrated in eye-catching detail. I do like the ties! You mentioned the textures of shirts. At the risk that I have missed previous content, would you consider a video on the topic of alternative textures employed in shirt-making and the impact these have on the overall look of a shirt and how it can equally enhance an outfit?

I would appreciate a primer on bow ties.
Outside of black and white tie, I find it hard not to fall into the fuddy, costumey and/or statement categories. With ordinary neck ties, one can always bring a navy grenadine or black knitted tie and be reasonably well of in most situations.
What would be the first bow tie(s) to get and why?

Love the videos and advice guys. My wardrobe has suddenly taken a real turn for the better. One problem I have is pairing anything with my new green tweed 3-piece suit. Gorgeous a stand alone piece of dress, but a nightmare putting the finishing touches to it such as the shirt, tie and pocket square. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks for the kind words! Green tweed is a standout piece indeed. For pairing, try a crisp white or light blue shirt. Opt for a classic navy/burgundy tie or a patterned one with hints of green. For the pocket square, neutrals like ivory work well, or try one with subtle green accents.

I would suggest lightly textured shirts of cream or sky blue. A traditional madder silk paisley tie complements tweed elegantly.

    Another excellent presentation, thanks.
What’s the present thought on OCBD with a tie. It’s been years, but I was taught to avoid ties with the OCBD.
As well, are there any brands of shirts you really enjoy and recommend. I’ve been wearing Eton, David Donahue, as well as some MTM shirts.

I just finished submitting and read the other gentleman’s comment on OCBD. Apologies for the redundancy.

We have made a video on wearing ties with OCBD…not sure it is released yet.
