In 2011 I was first introduced to Permaculture from a Dr I worked for. I introduced her to Oregonal Oil for Illinois sinus issues. Now I practice Permaculture on my double city lot.
Growing up it was normal for over 50 us to gather at my Grandparents for Sunday dinners. Grandma had 3 siblings her kids same age so there families would join in on the fun. Their house was small but we just squished in together. Miss the get together with the cousins.

You can dig the swale like you are clearing your fence, do a little bit at a time but keep doing it until it is complete. The same for the pond. I would suggest that next year you build another swale further down the hill and another pond. A series of ponds is a good way to store water and causes less risk of leaking.

Why not build a little deck (saw your Internet chair) that overlooks (or next to) your pond. A Little covered shed (like bushradical builds) to keep skeeters from the pond out but to see the whole landscape when you get it all done. It’d be s’awesome.
Anyways, loved the vid as always and spiked the 👍🏾
