I totally agree with your initial thought about money and passion, it's fine to follow your passion but one has always to have in mind that money is necessary to have a good quality of life. Also I was surprised with some of the careers on the list, and I thought there will appear more medical related careers. Awesome video!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😊
Im always trying to look for a career with a salary and work time balance, like I don’t want to stay 60-80 hours working in a company and earning A LOT of money, I don’t wanna work for a few hours and get a low payment, I want to get paid enough to make me happy and still have some time to spend with others outside of a career, but it’s not really easy finding one
Love your content Shane. I found it a bit weird that I didn't see firefighters on that list, all I hear from firefighters is that it's one of the best jobs in the world. Not only that, but over a million people are doing that voluntarily.
I'm glad you both acknowledge the importance of a sufficient income and that whatever job pays the most isn't always the best choice for the individual. My thoughts on teacher certification are if a person has a strong passion for that, the essential traits to do the job, and a willingness to live modestly, I'd say go for it. Living modestly is like being destitute or having to depend on friends or relatives for provision. Since a high percentage of one's waking hours are spent working for a living, I think it's important to find occupation that one doesn't despise. However, I realize some people have passions in fields that are hard to make a living in. One option is getting a double major: one in the field one has a passion for and the other in a second choice that they can be reasonably comfortable in. One may also work on their passion on the side with the possibility of eventually making a business out of their hobby. Whatever anybody does, one needs to try to avoid getting trapped in a job one totally despises because that works against one's overall happiness too much.
This is reverse causation. In order to be the kind of person who COULD STAND becoming an accountant, they'd have to temperamentally be happy. Being an accountant DOES NOT make one happy.
