I currently own a Deliciosa and an Adonsonii with hopes of getting more varieties (hopefully a Thai constellation) in the near future. One thing I will say I like the most about Adonsonii that many ppl dont discuss is the leaves have an almost reflective quality under directed spot light. If you have one use the light on your phone to shine over the leaves and watch how the reflective sheen lights up. So beautiful.

Hii kaylee could you please buy some houseplant seeds online and try to germinate them. Kinda like an experiment if the seeds you got were the right seeds☺☺
Might sound silly because they’re very common, but maybe you could do a video on the Aglaonema family (Chinese evergreens)? I know the Aglaonema pictum tricolor is extremely coveted/hard to find in the USA. Looks like a camo pattern on the leaves 😍 love your channel 🌺 Happy growing!
Malinda Barberio seperate it from the rest of the plant, keep it in indirect bright light, with high humidity, and prune off leaves that have absolutely 0 variagation. I appologize if im wrong but thats how i do it! :)
Acuminata is hemiepiphytic, hence it grows long aerial roots. It starts its life as an epiphyte on a tree and then grows aerial roots, which reach all the way down to the ground. Even juvenile cuttings start growing quite long aerial roots, which makes it easier to distinguish it from Adansonii. My small cutting already has several 15-20cm long aerial roots just dangling down without any moss pole or something to cling on.

Greetings from Thailand Kaylee. Thank you so much for your explanation of Monstera Adansonii and Monstera Oblique. I have a monstera (adansonii) in my mini garden and was able to label it correctly. I love all types of variegated plants whether its yellow or white variegation but sometimes I like it to be its true colours too.
I got the Monstera peru/karstenianum today! It was only €6 at my local rare/special plant store. Absolutely love that store and all the plants I bought from there.
Thanks once again Kaylee, I have noticed that what could be considered hard to find or rare, in the UK, is not so much here in the US, I find that amusing, but then we do live in different parts of the world, I guess that's what makes life interesting as far as growing plants, Lol. But I do enjoy your videos, they are so full of helpful information that I find it enjoyable to learn about. I am currently trying my hand at growing a Monstera Deliciosa Variegata from seeds, it could be an interesting journey, the first few took over three weeks to sprout, they have such a hard shell that it takes a lot to break through it, so hopefully the rest will sprout soon also.
@@SickBoiRENegade Hi, yes, I did get the seeds to grow, but they weren't the Monstera seeds my daughter and I had expected, she did get her money back and the plant continued to grow but we couldn't really identify what the plant was, only 6 little plants made it, then one by one they all died off, no matter what I did, so it was a fun experiment, but not with good results.

The adansonii archipelago is getting more and more common. One of my friend knows the person who was lucky enough to get one with a defect, and she has since spread it in sweden. Its still expensive (800-2000 on a swedish bidding site), but they are becoming alot more common since people propagate them and sell on here

But I'm not willing to spend the big $$. Lol. Your videos are awesome, I love them!
How would you tell the difference between a Monstera Peru and a Epipremnum Marble Planet? I think I have a monstera that was sold to me labeled epipremnum, but I can't tell just yet. Any advice on what to look for? :)
A few weeks ago a Monstera Adansonii Variegata cutting appeared on ebay in Australia. My friend and I watched it closely to see how high it would get. IT SOLD FOR $5300 AUD. Absolutely craaaazy
Thank you!! Another great video!! You are amazing and a gift to RUclips! Would you be able to do a video on varigation in general? How do you get it, keep it, etc.
Hi, love your videos. Doing a great job. On the Monstera deliciosa VS Monstera deliciosa var. borsigiana. Which one do I have? One of the most frequently asked questions at the moment I think. From the sources I have this is actually the same species. Only variations. Borsigiana is not acknowledged as it’s own subspecies by botanists and is a “made up” name. Personally though I think it’s fair to separate the two. There’s some confusion to how you can separate the two. The absolutely best way is to look at the distance between the stem nodes. Very short “real” Monstera Deliciosa. Longer Monstera Deliciosa var. Borsigiana. The two have different ways to grow where the Borsigiana is more of a climber. The “real” Deliciosa will definitely get bigger leaves. Possibly more rows of fenestration and bigger “ruffles”. But the borsigiana can get these features as well when they get older. If you buy a cheap Monstera D. It’s 99% that you get the Bosigiana. If a shop sell the “real” one they will likely know and give it a higher price tag. But you can be lucky. Thanks again for your your videos. You definitely don’t have to apologize for not having all the info about every rare plant. You still have more info than we could ever dig up!
Loved this video! It seems you aren’t very into hoyas but I and many others I’m sure would be very interested to see a rare plant index on them from you!
Im from Philippines and there's a type of monstera that you can see climbing on trees everywhere. I took some while trekking yesterday thats why im watching this. I think its a monstera deliciosa
Yesssss! I have been so damn excited for this rare plant index! 😍😍 Thank you so much for all the effort you put into your videos! It really shows and your videos are incredible 💜💜
Hi acuminata doesn't have fenestrations when juvenile, i have one at home and they are still without holes at 6 inch leaf length. I don't know where the idea that they are fenestrated when young and look adansonii?
From my previous understanding, and from what she mentioned in the video, the albo borsigiana is the actual name/type of what people would commonly call a variegated monstera "deliciosa." But the only true variegated deliciosa is the Thai Constellation.
You'd struggle to have a tropical garden in the desert that is California. Florida would do it! :) Echo the person lower in the comments it would be cool to see a Succulent index. Nice work
Hi Kaylee! I am new to your channel and i really like your Rara plant indices. I would also be really interested in a video on how you source those rare plants in europe!
Great video! I have a cutting of the monstera Peru in water waiting for roots to pop out! Love it!! Random question do you have any information on the peperomia green piper? I can’t find anything.
Have you heard of the Monstera Obliqua MOBOT (Missouri Botanical Garden)? They're selling 4 of them in my local rare plant store for $250 (USD). Zero fenestrations. Was discovered by/studied by Tom Croat.
I have a monstera adasonii regular one but some of the new leaves have started having white patches. Can a regular pal t turn verigated? Carnt find answers on internet. X
I've recently bought an adansonii and now one of the new leaves has white on it and I'm freaking out. It's still rolled up, so I can't really see what it looks like and whether the white will maybe still turn green or smt. I know chances of sudden variegation in a green plant are low, but it is possible right? It's so exciting to watch it grow a little bit everyday. I really hope it stays white, and that when I propagate it, it grows new variegated leaves, ahhhhh!!
It's worth mentioning that non-variegated standleyana exists as well and is much more difficult to obtain than the variegated versions! I have only ever seen two non-variegated standleyana online or in person!
*Whoopsie!!!*

I think I will find it some more light and see if that helps. I love watching your videos so much. As far as monstera goes, I really only like the delisiosa, and the two variegated types.
Monstera Peru and a Epipremnum Marble Planet its same plant. Just different trade names.
I just discovered your channel recently and I’m loving your videos! These plant indexes are so well done 🙌🏼
I’m new to you’re channel but loving these videos, plant index
A few weeks ago a Monstera Adansonii Variegata cutting appeared on ebay in Australia. My friend and I watched it closely to see how high it would get. IT SOLD FOR $5300 AUD. Absolutely craaaazy
Sounds like an interesting activity me and my friend should try one day.
Weird watching this in 2024 where you Obliquas pop up in plant auctions and sales locally 😅
Thank you!! Another great video!! You are amazing and a gift to RUclips! Would you be able to do a video on varigation in general? How do you get it, keep it, etc.
Can you do a rhaphidaphora? Loved this segment of yours.
YES!! Please tell us more about the monstera deliciosa and the borsigiana
It's easy to push or click the like button because even before you watch your videos you know they're going to be liked
thank you so much for the effort to share these infos!❤ love the eye shadows!❤
Would be really awesome if you did a series teaching how to learn and identify plants
Thank you so much for all the effort you put into your videos! It really shows and your videos are incredible 💜💜
Hi acuminata doesn't have fenestrations when juvenile, i have one at home and they are still without holes at 6 inch leaf length. I don't know where the idea that they are fenestrated when young and look adansonii?
did I miss monstera deliciosa variegata? or all the varigated mosteras are montera albo borsigiana?
From my previous understanding, and from what she mentioned in the video, the albo borsigiana is the actual name/type of what people would commonly call a variegated monstera "deliciosa." But the only true variegated deliciosa is the Thai Constellation.
I love the long videos, they feel robust...
This was awesome, I love the monstera family!
You'd struggle to have a tropical garden in the desert that is California. Florida would do it! :) Echo the person lower in the comments it would be cool to see a Succulent index. Nice work
Wow so beautiful plants dear friend thanks 👍👍👌🤗🤗🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I purchased one adansonii years back but last year it had two leaves with white variegations but then still continued to be green on upcoming leaves.
Loved this video, it was so interesting and that is because you put so much work and effort into the research, thank you, really appreciate it.
Following... keep us updated
It's worth mentioning that non-variegated standleyana exists as well and is much more difficult to obtain than the variegated versions! I have only ever seen two non-variegated standleyana online or in person!
Interesting video 👍🏼 maybe include what country/ies the plants are native to for completeness 😉
