    As a recent convert and the only member in my family, when people say that is is easy to be disciple of Christ, I smile and say to myself, "no, it's hard." It's hard to stand strong when you feel alone or are being persecuted by people who don't want to listen, understand and feel the truth. It's hard see yourself fall short over and over. But the beautiful thing is that Christ is always ready to help us overcome and become better. Remember how hard the Atonement...He did it for you.

    I've learned that amidst the darkest times of depression or any other type of sadness, there is always a ray of light. When a person goes through something bad they choose to either learn from it and come out stronger, or learn from it and come out weaker, and more negative. We could sit here and debate but at the end of the day every single person wants to feel happy. When it comes to it every single person wants to feel joy and warmth. This is universal.

    I am sorry, he has no Idea what Gay people go through, He openly admits that doesn't know much about weather it is chosen or a person is born gay, and that he isn't a expert on the subject, but makes rules and statements that effect the lives of gay people in the negative. The Mormon church can believe anything it wants, that's a free country, but leave us alone to make our own choices. If this means you have to leave the mormon church, than leave it.

    to 1castido: President Hinckley never avoided an issue. In fact he was the first president of the church to really reach out to the media. However, you discuss things appropriately for the setting. Larry King was not looking for an extended answer on what our doctrine is. He was looking for simple, easy-for-everyone-to-understand answers. President Hinckley did not mince words. He did not hide or opologize. There are official statements of the church that cover...

    @LauraDar118 I am not a fan organized reilgion but your former president Hinckley sounds like a very sweet man as many people in your church are. 2?'s: Did you ever meet Mr. President Hinckley and How long have you been a Mormon for?

    I really do love the prophet. I loved the last portion on his philosophy on how it is wonderful to be a Mormon.
    Something I will never understand is the church's stance on homosexuality. They are more accepting than a lot of other religions. However, I don't see how a same gender couple cannot be pro family.

    @cwporterUCSD The Mormon church IS pro-family, I agree with what the man said and I'm an athiest. I don't think he hates gay people but I wish somebody would have explained to him what you just said on here which is a great statement and I agree with you. A child deserves a loving home whether it'd be a gay or straight couple.

    I love the prophet! HE'S DEFINATELY THE LORD's MOUTHPIECE HERE ON EARTH!!

  • @zmcleod
    @zmcleod 16 лет назад

    Polygamy isn't practiced anymore? Not on earth, but in heaven it will be practiced, men can have another sealing to another wife, if his wife dies. He keeps both of them in the after life. Who invented plural marriage? I'm not critisizing the LDS or FLDS... if you think polygamy is/was an ordinance from God, I respect your beliefs.

  • @iamthedib
    @iamthedib 17 лет назад +3

    So gay Mormons won't be able to spend eternal life with God, since Mormons believe only couples married in LDS temples can spend eternity in God's presence. Very Christlike!!

  • @omiolo
    @omiolo 17 лет назад

    yeah, castido, I would agree with you. Generally a very likeable guy. He does though have a habit of avoiding tough questions and then acting like he doesn't know what is being asked. I feel that if we did that we would be looked down upon.

  • @YZ450f24
    @YZ450f24 13 лет назад

    @enemieznum1 No one sees that because of how untrue your statement is. Since when does good come from bad and bad come from good. People can recognize the wrong they do and change and start doing good, but thats them deciding to do the right things that they knew they should have been doing all along. Everything we do is our choice. Your statement is the same as saying that good comes from the devil and that bad comes from God. Thats so wrong!

  • @wdeadman49
    @wdeadman49 16 лет назад

    I agree with you techdeck! Jesus taught us to love one another and not to judge! We are also to live by examples and teach our children the right ways to walk not being prejudiced against others and wanting to fight others because of their beliefs and what they do!

    It's hard to be a mormon isn't it ? ''No it's wonderful''
    i love this part =)

  • @zmcleod
    @zmcleod 16 лет назад

    Of course Mormon women have a lot of privileges, no one was saying they don't. However, When a wife dies, the man can get sealed to more than one woman, meaning he will have both women or (many) in heaven to help him procreate worlds. Women do not have this option, they cannot get sealed more than once. Even though polygamy is not practiced on earth, polygamy can be practiced in heaven and is considered a celestial law. Unless this has changed recently, someone tell me.
