An elderly couple shared with me an experience they had with President Monson. They were at the Salt lake temple looking out at the yard. And parked in the yard was several white golf carts. So they waited sure to see some General athoritiys coming out of the temple. And sure enough they did. One cart remained so they continue to wait. President Monson came out he just sat there in his cart. He spied them watching him. He waved at them to come over to his cart he was all smiles as always he quietly lifted a box and opened it. And held out to them a box of chocolates and asked them if they wanted one. They said he giggled like a child and said I just love chocolate. I thought wow what a cool story. He was such an awesome man!!!
Whoever says that General Conference is always boring or that the First Presidency and the Twelve have no sense of humor are "not" paying attention. That story of Pres. The heart warming experience hearing Elder Monson speak after he passed away about 2 years ago. He was my first prophet and I will never forget him. Little eight year old me excited to hear him speak during confrence. 😢
I read do relate to this. He was my first prophet, and I thought he was a brilliant man. I became so sad when my mother told me he passed away. I was always so excited to hear him talk. But he is with heavenly father now. He is with his wife.

General Conference is amazing and I love the humor! I have a friend who is a senior in high school and she's planning on serving a mission after her freshman year of college. Two years ago when I was her age we went to high school together and we loved hanging out during lunch break. I loved to talk with my friends about the gospel and I still do. I have a lot of LDS friends. Lindsay and I would talk about General Conference. Our favorite speaker was President Uchtdorf. We loved acting out the part of one talk where President Monson told him to not "even think about it". I would pretend to be Uchtdorf putting his hand on the throttles and she would say "Dieter, don't even think about it". Later she found the talk and sent it to me with a letter. She signed it: Lindsay, A.K.A Thomas S. Monson.
I got the email a few weeks ago, our church was one of the first entities to stop group meetings because of Covid-19...I love our church and I love out prophet...!

God is source of creation. Life is creation. We can not separate anything from everything means all are different but the oneness. All depend on each other. All are connected. While serving on my mission I would go to the Purdue LDS INSTITUTE on our Monday prep day. We were taught a statement that H. C. KIMBALL Taught “ You must KNOW THE LORD so well that you tell Him a joke and KNOW THAT HE LAUGHED” I have tried to Live and KNOW THE LORD.
He lived that statement. I heard a story once how he was in his room saying his prayers when one of his children passed by the doorway and heard him laughing. Apparently he had heard a joke and was telling it to the Lord, and he couldn't help but laugh as he was telling it.

I've also heard the theory that the wine was usually safer to drink than the water because the alcohol killed the germs, but I don't have any solid evidence to back that up. It's just something I've heard that seems to make sense. Bottom line, as someone else already stated, we believe we have been commanded to abstain from alcohol and therefore we do so in order to show our obedience to God. An elderly couple shared with me an experience they had with President Monson. They were at the Salt lake temple looking out at the yard. And parked in the yard was several white golf carts. So they waited sure to see some General athoritiys coming out of the temple. And sure enough they did. One cart remained so they continue to wait. President Monson came out he just sat there in his cart. He spied them watching him. He waved at them to come over to his cart he was all smiles as always he quietly lifted a box and opened it. And held out to them a box of chocolates and asked them if they wanted one. They said he giggled like a child and said I just love chocolate.

The heart warming experience hearing Elder Monson speak after he passed away about 2 years ago. He was my first prophet and I will never forget him. Little eight year old me excited to hear him speak during confrence. 😢
I read do relate to this. He was my first prophet, and I thought he was a brilliant man. I became so sad when my mother told me he passed away. I was always so excited to hear him talk. But he is with heavenly father now. He is with his wife.

General Conference is amazing and I love the humor! I have a friend who is a senior in high school and she's planning on serving a mission after her freshman year of college. Two years ago when I was her age we went to high school together and we loved hanging out during lunch break. I loved to talk with my friends about the gospel and I still do. I have a lot of LDS friends. Lindsay and I would talk about General Conference. Our favorite speaker was President Uchtdorf. We loved acting out the part of one talk where President Monson told him to not "even think about it". I would pretend to be Uchtdorf putting his hand on the throttles and she would say "Dieter, don't even think about it". Later she found the talk and sent it to me with a letter. She signed it: Lindsay, A.K.A Thomas S. Monson.

The claim that it was grape juice is, likely incorrect. The reason we do not drink alcohol really comes down to this, we have been told by a prophet of God that we should not do so. That doing so could be harmful to us and to the temples which are our mortal bodies. So we don't drink alcohol.

Biblical wine was definitely not just grape juice. If it were, then Jesus' talk about new and old wineskins wouldn't make sense. I've also heard the theory that the wine was usually safer to drink than the water because the alcohol killed the germs, but I don't have any solid evidence to back that up. It's just something I've heard that seems to make sense. Bottom line, as someone else already stated, we believe we have been commanded to abstain from alcohol and therefore we do so in order to show our obedience to God.
The author Brandon Sanderson once compared this practice to Jews not eating pork. Really, there is not much wrong with drinking alcohol or eating pork (in moderation), but if you've made a covenant with God not to partake of those things, then you better make sure you follow through simply because that's what you promised to do.

The mainstream religious people are killing people and sacrificing animals in the name of God. They promote God's cruel punishments. @Mason Man Mormons would rather hide from faith-challenging facts rather than overcome them and still keep their testimony. For example, if you wanted to you could read "The CES letter" online for free or "Letter for my wife" online for free, and then read the Fairmormon.org response to the "anti-Mormon" material, but instead (if you're like other Mormons) you're likely to hide from the material and not understand any of the legitimate questions people have. I assume the original poster of this video was blocking ex-Mormons and that's why their comments were disappearing.

Depression, suicide and the option to leave the church are at the forefront of their choices.
You don’t work with youth and it matters not what you believe.
It is obvious you care more about protecting the image of the organization than the youth’s mental wellbeing.
For that reason, please remain in denial, it is giving you a purpose.
