I used this tutorial to make holiday cards and I am pleased with the results. I am a beginner and the cards were something I was proud to share with friends and family. Thank you for posting the video!!
You teach as well as the Art Sherpa, who teaches acrylic. And that's a huge compliment. I paint with watercolor and am learning watercolors. I like how you explain everything. You are a great teacher.
WOW! Thank you. I just try to explain what I am doing. While I don't think watercolors are hard, they certainly aren't easy either, and anything I can do to help people understand something that I love doing makes is what I try.
The Snowman card was great. I am going to make my Christmas cards from your design. He's the best I've seen. I also enjoy your Wednesday night sessions as I always learn a lot from you.
It's so great that you are going to do this. Have fun with it. Im sure it will turn out fantastic. It's great to see you on the live stream every week. Thank you for joining me.
I took inspiration from this tutorial to make Christmas cards last year. I even added my two little Scottie dogs. They are wearing mittens and building the snowman! Thanks for sharing this video.
Loved this so much!!! I am just starting watercolor. I am thankful for all lessons on RUclips to help me learn. I made this card and printed them up for Christmas gifts this year. I still struggle to do it without watching your step by step lesson. I like paintings with the negative space. Thanks so much for sharing your skill/art.
Michael, Love the enthusiasm! Which palette are you using in the snowman video? I'm getting ready for holiday travel & would like to bulk down this year. Be well.
Greaaaaaat work and a very nice tutorial, I love it so much 💕. I love drawing snowmen so much, but mine are not so cute like yours 😭. I want to try drawing your way ~ maybe the snow begins to live then here also 😉?! But I'm wondering if it is not to much color then on the snowman there?! I color them very "vorsichtig" and only the shadows?!
Thank you, Michael. I want to give this a try. I only have ultramarine, pthalo blue, cerrulean, and prussian. How would I achieve the other colors? I have pthalo green, lemon yellow, cad yellow and gamboge. Would these help?
I think I would use Cerulean as the base color for the snowman, but really light. Then a lighter Pthalo on top of that. I don't use a lot of prussian blue, but i know its a very intense color, I think I'd probably use that as the background.

It helps a lot, because I am a beginner (watercolor and pencil drawing) and have sooooooo much to learn from artists and masters. Thank you so very much 💕.
Great idea and love the whimsical-ness of the snowman. I just might have to buy the MG turquoise - looks intense and lovely. Do you swatch out your colours in another of your videos?
I would appreciate you giving me a list of your MGRAHAM paints that you have in your new palette so I can set my palette up like yours. I already have most of my paints.
"Thank you Michael..." Beautiful Snowman, love it ..... and ... a Great Tutorial... (Thank you for not having background music that interferes with your voice) ... ;)
hmmm, a mouth? I think you just didn't see it, He's got a giant snow moustache that covers it. LOL. in all honesty, I thought it would be a bit too crowded to put a row of coal or stones below the carrot, so I left it out. I don't think it diminishes the look of the painting.
This was so fun and adorable I gave it a go. I changed it a little so I didn't copy you exactly. :) I posted it on Instagram yesterday if you want to see it. instagram.com/p/BNS_3D9g0Sb/?taken-by=dmzajac2004 Thank you so much for the tutorial and inspiration!
No, No, and No. I had to paint about 20 of these and I thought, what could I simplify and still have a snowman. If I would have simplified any further I ran the risk of it not looking like a snowman should (at least to me). If I had added more, it would have added more time to each snowman, but I don't think I'd would have added to the painting.
Love this! Doing snowmen birthday cards for the February birthdays in my family. This really helped me . Anx the explanatikn was great. Thank you😊
I'll be trying this tomorrow. GREAT lesson.
What a wonderfully complete tutorial. You did not assume any knowledge of the viewer. I am so going to try this. Many thanks.

Great idea and love the whimsical-ness of the snowman. I just might have to buy the MG turquoise - looks intense and lovely.

Wonderful! Is there a name for this graphic layered technique?
I'm not sure, I would just call it layering, or perhaps glazing.
I would appreciate you giving me a list of your MGRAHAM paints that you have in your new palette so I can set my palette up like yours. I already have most of my paints.
Dana, I'll put them back in my live feed so that everyone can see them.
Красота!
I've watched this a few times and I'm going to try to follow along now. Question: Why did you put the eyes and buttons on first instead of last?
"Thank you Michael..." Beautiful Snowman, love it ..... and ... a Great Tutorial... (Thank you for not having background music that interferes with your voice) ... ;)
