Since I ride a Harley I wear a leather vest over my jacket with rockabilly and biker patches and pins that can be worn year round.Since leather vests didn't really exist in the 50s they may not be some people's idea of authentic greaser rockabilly although Tokyo Rockabillies weat them and Gene Vincent had one in the 60s.Denim or leather vests make a great summer alternative to heavy leather jackets and can be worn year round.
Since I have a gut, I never tuck in my shirt if the shirt is white. You can just see all the sarsparilla I've went through. Definitely better to be a slim or burly chested greaser during the summer. At least my guns look great and I can show them off more in the summer with the rolled up sleeves. Definitely good to keep in shape and encourage fitness. I know I've been trying to, despite it, I still have a gut but some cats have smoking as their vice while I have my sodie-pop.

If I studied classic wear currently, it was common dress code to keep your shirt tucked in from the years 1900-1980. Anyone may tell me if historically speaking, leaving your shirt tucked out in the open was a “thing,” during the 1950 for greasers?
Most photographic evidence seems to point to the tuck as being most common. I think it looks sharp and badass at the same time, especially with a cool belt and buckle. Definitely big in the 70s and 80s, too. Tucking in your shirt, aside from greaser style, just makes you stand out more these days, which is cool.
