I watch you I see myself and it is clear to me why I see myself because I am from "Bosnia and Hrecegovina" and we South Slavs are really one and the same people! During the war, when I was only 12 years old, without any previous knowledge of electronics, I made electricity for myself, which we didn't have for 3 years because of the war! I simply used a wiper motor on the stream to produce 12 volts of electricity, enough for light bulbs, radio, portable TV, etc.! As I get older and watch RUclips electronics, I become more and more a perfectionist and less of an inventor!
You are a very good teacher Sorin! And in fact the best protection to not overcharge a car battery is a light bulb! Vhen it is fully charged the light bulb will be off! Keep up the good work and hope to see you well!
You are a gooooooood teacher and we are your legacy at repairing, thanks for making me a tech monster. Lol! You once said, "you might be grooming monsters by your counterintuitive ideas ........." I love your style and your confidence is intriguing.
just found out of your channel... you have interesting English, i like the stories and on the way i learned something... great video, keep them coming...
Hi Sorin. I'm just an amateur. I look your videos only for training and fun. Sometimes I don't understand the need of some of your dodgy methods. But today I watched an interesting video from a "Sorin" apprentice of teacher in "XXXland" and I suddenly realized the real scope of your work. Somewhere, your usual "dodgy" B plan makes the diference between fix and no fix. Thanks for your videos and your patience.
Sorin that is the best way I have ever heard the relation between current and voltage explained and demonstrated. You are in the wrong profession you should have been a teacher😃. Also cant wait to catch you on the bands sometime MI7YDB 📡
73's de ON7OFF. Hope to meet you also on the air, dave. I am also looking forward to meet Sorin somewhere on 80 or 40. I'm doing a lot of livestreams (search for ON7OFF on youtube)
Very GOOD! We call that MacGyver it. people actually used to call me MacGyver because I always do things like that. MacGyver was a tv show some time ago here in the US.
As always great lesson! But the story..i can imagine at that time Sorin..just married, honey moon, red BMW, young and in love ready for advanture...what can go wrong?!?! A stupid battery?! Naaaaah i will put it inseries with my light bulb car ahahaha.YOU ARE MY HERO!
Holy smokes! Zapp, i had forgoten about it, i too had one, it was the only way i could get a fast(er) internet connection than dial-up. I might still have the phone somewhere, they were CDMA.
Nice memories Sorin, very nice! You were next to that BMW, on the phone, like: WTF is wrong, i just want to go in honeymoon! Si, ca tot romanu', daca s-a dus termocupla de la radiator, pornesti caldura blana :D .
I built a power supply that I now know is dependent on the current draw because the voltage drops as the load is connected. Could you please do a video explaining the correct way to build a power supply with a constant voltage. Thank you for your extremely useful content.
as he said in the video, you need to feed more current for the impedance you're connecting to the power supply, if you have not enough current, the voltage will drop because voltage and current are inversely proportional when applied to a given resistance.
Thank you sorin for all you do for us electronics novices you should be teaching the next generation your concepts are truely brilliant, plus that look on your face as you were blowing up that airbed made me piss myself laughing remebering a time when we forgot the pump for out dingy on holiday and had to blow it up manualy everyone had roseie cheeks that day :p.
This is the next level for future episodes when power comes into place. If you multiply voltage with current gives you how much heat(power) can dissipate. They are the same basically but calculated to burn at different levels of stress
You already give the answer in the video. We connect two similar light bulbs in series and we have 6 volts to charge the phone. Edit: you used 1 lamp...
@@ChupoCro If we have 12,5 V at battery, 2 turn signal light bulbs of 21 W and we need approximate 5V/0,4A at the phone it will result? Can you do the math for me please?
@@ChupoCro Do you see? You get there. The voltage divider supplies the divided voltage to another load. That what is a voltage divider. As battery charges the battery resistance increases and the current diminishes. In the 2x 21W bulb situation when the phone current reaches 0,2 A the applied voltage will be 5,4V wich is still accepted. And when the phone is fully charged and the current is 0 A the voltage divider between the 2 lamps will be perfect 12,5V/2=6,25V.
@@ChupoCro you not know an important thing. Back in those days (90s i think by the Sorin video) the chargers were built with transformers and full bridge rectifiers with fluctuate and not precise outputs. Another thing that you showed not knowing is that the phone charger is built in the phone. The adapter is just a power supply. In my experiments with phone adapters maybe 2 years ago the phone will not charge if the adapter voltage is Higher than 7 volts. And who decides that is the charger that is inside the phone. The battery is always safe.
Dang Sorin.. that really helped this 70 year old mind to solidify ohms law in my mind.. You are a very unique teacher.. thanks ever so much..
You are a great teacher Sorin.
Thank you for the beginners!

Living in South East Bulgaria, 70 kilometers from Tcherno More!. Amazing experiment! .

You are really unique, Sorin! It's always a pleasure to watch your videos! Thanks!
Foarte bune explicațiile, aveți valențe de profesor.
thank u sir, first time i understand ohms law very well
learning from example is more comprehensive than reading, thank you Sorin, greetings from Republic of Moldova.
Sorin! Am happy to see Diana.......
Happy 20th wedding anniversary Sorin!
Am hoping to see her soon
You are a gooooooood teacher and we are your legacy at repairing, thanks for making me a tech monster. Lol!

sorin was the inspiration and the sole consultant for mcgywer series!

Perfect timing, just needing this right now. I think you read my mind. Thanks Sorin you are a star. Nice memory to share.
You are a very good teacher Sorin!👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
i learned a lot from this video and thank you very much for the memory refresh we need these type of videos!.
What a nice surprise the videos. very good to see those young faces full of life and joy. Like always, thanks sorin.
You must take a break
I love watch all. Thanks for your time to learn us all stuff. And limited the current is easy. 💡
Very nicely explained concept of current & resistance. 👍 thank you!

This was quite powerful. Thank you Sir, stay well.
I will now survive while stranded on a remote island. Great seeing your wife back in the day. You both seem happy! :)
Frumoasă analogie!
Wonderful story Sorin 👍❤️
That was very cool. Thanks for sharing Sorin!
Very GOOD! We call that MacGyver it. people actually used to call me MacGyver because I always do things like that. MacGyver was a tv show some time ago here in the US.
Great video Sorin thanks for the electronic education.
Another very very useful knowledge. Thank you very much. 😊

Great demo and story :)
Nice tutorial👌👍..
And that story.. pretty interesting..
Your a person like me, "playing with what ever laying around you"..
Those memories from times when we were young and life was fun 😀
thanks for the lesson.
beautifully explained! Thank you

Great video and loved the story, ahhh Sorin in his younger days hehehe.
Nice one sir, not only honey moon but also honey technology
Water is a good analogy for giving example. Water pressure is voltage and Water width is current
thanks so much Sorin
brilliant. thank you so much
foarte tare ! mulțumim !

I think it's like magic
And one day I will understand it as well as sorin. One day :)

If electric flows from negative to positive pole, how you can put resistor after load ( ex. battery ) on positive pole and have limited current
Water is a good analogy for giving example. Water pressure is voltage and Water width is current
It a convention. In DC current + means higher potential.
You looked like a movie star in that clip 🤩

young man sorin , nice years of a humanbeings, memories .......
Ty Sorin.
warm memories.. Like candy "Nomeda" in childhood :)
Good day master
Love your story. Is that the light bulb from red BMW ?
Great job 👍
nice story ! nice memories
Was that Ray Liotta or Sorin in the old footage? 🤓
Sorin sir pls make a detail video on what is volt ,ampere 👍
thank You So Much I Love it.
Bit basic but good for the dummies Well done good man
Shouldn't we consider the drop in voltage across the light bulb?
Nice one
oyeahhhhh e36 ! Love to see it ! Respect! :)
Good video what if that bulb in your car failed whilst you were charging your phone battery
Would your phone battery get the full 12v ?
no and the only way it would fail is the battery running out of current to give.
@@ryu_798 I meant what if the filament in the bulb blew and the bulb was dead
@@paulsanderson8804 he was bridging over the bulb, the bulb was in parallel to the battery.
so for 12 Volts and 0.0 Amps. the result of that resistance is Undefined. Try on your Calculators: 12/0. Voltage and Current are codependent.
Thanks
Then what is the difference between a 0 ohm resistor vs. a fuse?
This is the next level for future episodes when power comes into place. If you multiply voltage with current gives you how much heat(power) can dissipate. They are the same basically but calculated to burn at different levels of stress
i know that film, is Flight of the Phoenix right?
So current isn't the same in a series circuit?
great video and lesson! those old times with nice sport car, a nice new wife and a lot kilos less! hahah
What was that movie again?
WOW
I just like this video, and man you should really tell me some tips, how you have managed to stay with your wife diana for all these years !!!!!
That is a nice car.
Could you just read bedtime stories? Your voice is very relaxing! Very Asmr like
Doskonale przykład tłumaczące co to jest prawo ohma w praktyce. Pozdrowienia.
What was the movie btw if anyone knows ? :D
So tension before and after resistor is the 12 V
The movie is "Alive".
I will put a resistor (bulb) and get voltage less then 12V 😄
Fast charge the phone battery by connecting directly to car battery for 1-2 seconds 😚😚

Before and after the resistor in an open circuit you have 0 current passing
Is Diana your wife and does she work in the shop with you?
👍👌🧡💚🙏
India,Pakistanul,Bangladesul si jumatate din Africa neagra iti multimesc pentru solutiile de incendiere 🤣😂
Im 1st hlo everyone
glory days feelings, heh? I know how it is...
maybe you should stop this non sense series on ohms law and talk to your followers about... i dont know, tv repairing traps for exemple
Thanks
