    *humiditer We liked it **Fastly.Cool** so much in the basement, we bought a second one for the main level. The amount of moisture it pulls out of the air is astonishing.*

    You did a great job teaching me how to change filter. I was left with 2 metal clips and was unsure where they went. My friend had pulled filter box out of unit which is in the attic and brought it downstairs. An A/C had installed it and I never had a look at it before. I purchased at a wholesale A/C store. I called ahead because their website said they only sold to trade. We wanted it right away because my A/C wouldn't work without it. They said they would match Amazon's price and sell to me. Cleaning it outside I was able to clean it superbly. Thanks again!

    Thank you. I decided it was time to change my filter as it has been in since Nov 11,2016. Surprisingly, the filter was perfectly clean. While watching your video you mentioned "tangs". Uh huh I found two of them sitting on top of the unit. Hoping this will fix the problem

    Great video and reminder of how to change the filter. It actually takes me over and hour. After I vacuum, I carefully wipe over the wires (do one side/flip and do the other side) with a damp paper towel and a lot more dirt comes off. I also wipe over the screen with a damp cloth and let it dry before I put it back on. I like our Aprilaire 5000, but I wish they had designed an easier way to change/clean the filter and box. A couple of the snap areas of the separator combs have broken and they are unbelievably expensive to replace. Cleaning/changing the filter/box is really a pain.

    What do you think the advantage of the electronic function of this unit compared to just the large media pac filter by Aprilaire? Does it make 'cracking' noises when some large particles hit the wires? My old Honeywell electronic air cleaner did that. Interestingly, the Honeywell filter was all metal and could be washed in a dish washing machine. Yes, absolutely true, that was the maintenance on them back in the mid to late 1980s.

    They updated the 2400 to a better media. Will the 2400 series filter work with the 5000 or is there a different part number? I do not like the pleated filters at all.

    I purchased an AprilAire 5000 that came with the used furnace. It does not have the control panel you mentioned. The previous owner said he never had one. Is this control panel necessary? Can I just wire it to turn on when the furnace fan runs? Thanks for any response.,

    • @mescko
      @mescko 6 лет назад +1

      I think it's a newer version. Our 5000 was installed about 12 years ago, no panel.

      The control panel is NOT necessary. The 5000 can be wired without the panel.

    Thanks for the video. If you are still in that house, do yourself a favor and run the water heater pressure release pipe into the drain on the floor where that PVC pipe is, just in case it releases, the water will go to the drain and not all over your basement floor.

      +Billy Smith 5000 is a waste of money and gave me Ozone headaches. I unplugged it and bought the Merv 16 filter by health climate" Lennox MERV 16 Air Cleaner Filter Media for PMAC-12C - X5425" on Ebay for $85 free shipping. Gives better filtering and no ozone. Filter drops right in the 5000 box. Just gotta remember to unplug the stupid 5000. The X5425 is a Merv 16 and the 5000 filter is rated at Merv 10.

      @@waynejohnson9119 curious how you did this. Our Aprilaire system died. Do you drop the Lennox filter into the box that slides into the cabinet or just put the Lennox filter directly into the cabinet?
