As far as I can see Dempsey would have had little to worry about if he had fought Wills. And as for Firpo. How did he ever get to contender status. He makes Rocky Marciano look as skilful and graceful as Willy Pep. Crude doesn't describe him. Slow, lunging, stumbling. No footwork, no timing, every punch telegraphed by Western Union.
