Just read the three volumes of Ram V and Mike Perkin's Swamp Thing- never read anything by Ram V before and it's a new Swamp Thing but it was better than I expected, even though you'll notice some parallels with the New 52 run for sure
Honestly, I've drifted far away from the big 2 this year, and it'll take a lot for me to come back. Indies can just get away with so much more. Like the beautiful cape mosaic of Astro City, the imaginative magic of White Sand, the gross humor of Chew,, the deep high concept Sci fi of We only find them when they're dead... THOSE books are surprising, not because a character dies again for the next 5 minutes, but because you get to see entire new worlds of stories!
@TheComicBookReport there's a compendium coming next year. Wicked + Devine is also coming out in that format, along with the 2 MASTERPIECES East of West and Kill or be killed!
I started reading Marvel for the first time, started with Frank Millers run of Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man by Bendis, Born Again was way better than I expected and I’ve only heard good things about it! I didn’t know there was a Harley Quinn spinoff from the Batman White Knight run, I’ll have to put it on my list of what to read when I get around to starting White Knight.
@@FaithInterlude-lp8yi welcome to the world of Marvel! I’ve got love for a ton of these publishers but Marvel has always been my favorite :) And Yes! The Harley Quinn White Knight book takes place after Curse of the White Knight! It’s a great read :)
Glad you enjoyed the Black Panther omni. I gave a chance to The Deviant recently and it's been quite interesting, there's only one issue left in december if I am not mistaken.
@@BruceWayne-et8kh it’s a great series! If you have an opportunity to get the deluxe edition it definitely has a big recommend from me! It’s a beautifully made book 📚📚📚
@@TheComicBookReport OH yeah, deluxe edition is the way to go. Btw did you read Rook Exodus, it's by Geoff Johns as well. I'm confused between these two titles on which to get
Are we going to a review of the Ta Nehisi Coates Black Panther omnibus? Personally dont like this run for the most part (Priest or Hudlin for me) but I would interested in a more detailed review
What are some comic books that have really surprised you? 🤔📚📚📚
