I think you are on a winner there Colin. Epiphone would do well doing more of their own designs rather than just doing cheap copies of Gibson models. A sweet instrument.
I love your videos so much I have to fast forward the previews to avoid any spoilers. Thanks Colin for yet another honest, entertaining and educational review!
Cheers Bradley! 😆👍
Thanks so much for your reviews and your channel. As always I love your honesty and sincerity laced with your sense of humor. I really didn’t think that I was in the market for another guitar but I am very impressed with the Crestwood.
Thanks again
I was looking for Crestwood review and came across your channel. You're the best guitar reviewer on RUclips. Subscribed!
Cheers that's appreciated! 😊🙏
most honest, tranparent and fluid review video I had ever seen.
Thanks!!!
Cheers Walter! 😎🙏
I've been looking at this whole Epiphone line (Coronet, Wilshire, and Crestwood). I have so many p90 guitars already and the fact that this one comes in white, I was leaning to the Crestwood. This review has made my mind for me. Thank you, Colin. I love all your videos. Best Guitar reviews on YT in my opinion. I look forward to watching every time a new one is posted!
Thanks man the support is appreciated!!
This is some seriously high quality TV right here. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!
Cheers man that’s appreciated! 🙏😁
This is definitely the version that has been calling to me for a long while...😎👍
A keeper Colin😉😎👍
😎👍❤🖖
Love Brother
So pleased you reviewed this! Great guitar and great demo🎶🎸
Cheers mate!
Top review. Loved it. That wooden bridge piece is a classy touch. Any guitar that inspires you to play is, hands down, the best guitar.
😎👍
Just ordered one of these! Such a great, in-depth demo. Thank you. Cheers from Norway!
Cheers man... great guitar! 😎👍
I love your channel man, please continue to do what your doing ❤️
Cheers Tucker, as long as you keep watching that's a promise! 😆👍
Enjoyed the review and teardown, Colin. A guitar that would have passed me by is now firmly on my radar, I really like how versatile those controls are! Seems like a guitar that can do a lot, and look great doing it. Cheers 🙂
Cheers Ian!
Firstly, I must say I look forward to your reviews every week. Your doing a great job educating us all on affordable guitars and choosing the kind of guitars which I like. Secondly, epic soloing at the end! Worthy, of a maestro. Thirdly, god damn it, after looking at these crestwoods when the reissue came out, and then buying something else, you convinced me I need one of these now...
Cheers man thanks for the kind words! 🙏😊 I looked at these many times and didn’t buy… think it was the original price but if you can get them on a $500 deal it’s a no brainier!
My goodness. I come in late and I am comment number 400 after nearly 11,000 views. Well done, Colin! You deserve all of the success in the world for you fun reviews. Your sense of humor, playing and in depth look at the guitar itself are always top notch. Thank you for another wonderful film of a guitar I would never have given a second look but now am thoroughly interested in!
Cheers mate!
Mine is becoming my favorite guitar. I thought for a day or two because I thought it felt short at first. Once I got used to it it became one of my favorites. And sounds great.
Ever since I saw Marc Ford playing a Crestwood many years ago, I've been in love with this thing. Thanks for the video.
I was looking for a comment on Marc! He’s my favorite player and the only guy I’ve seen playing a crestwood. He had a beautiful black Les Paul with p90s too
Thanks a lot for your channel, your simplicity and sincerity is very rare, your playing is really great.
I’m enjoying a lot my coronet, and now I’m thinking of the crestwood. 😃.
Cheers Nicolas thanks for the kind words and support! 😎👍
Love your show Colin! I recently picked up the Epi Rumblekat short scale bass, with mini humbuckers. A real joy to play for a 6 string player!
Definitely be adding this to the collection ,love the look and sound of it 😀 great video as always 👌
Another great video Colin and I'm glad to see another Epiphone reissue featured. Makes you wonder why its taken them so long to get some of these guitars out considering how long ago they were originally made. The mini humbuckers sound pretty quacky on certain settings which is great. I've been really impressed with what Gibson/Epiphone have been doing with the brand in the last couple of years. The quality has gone up more than the extra cost. Epi seemed to me to have begun to realise that they have really something special in their back catalogue with so much history to drawn upon. We are seeing long forgotten guitars re-emerging for a new generation to appreciate. The guitar featured was pretty rare and difficult to get hold of back in the day. Btw I have an Italia 12 string with mini humbuckers and it sounds really good.
Cheers Tony, all credit to the new regime at Gibson/Epiphone following the reshuffle... the product manager and team at Epiphone often make up for all the nonsense that happens at Gibson! 😁👍
I love your reviews. I can't wait to see what's next.
Cheers that's appreciated!
Thank you sir for an excellent review and demo. I saw a video of yours which featured a cool Guild solid body more than a year ago and then promptly lost track of you. Great to stumble onto another outstanding review of another worthy guitar. I've subscribed this time! Also love your picking. All the Best from old Kentucky.
Came back for that outro... it's even better than I remembered! 🔥
Thanks Colin (I think...now I want one). As always bang on great review, informative and entertaining! Nice job of photographing the white by the way - looks great.
Cheers Bob!
I played this guitar the other day at the store and was really surprised by it. It wasn’t what I was looking for so I set it aside but then after watching your video feels like I’m about to change my mind
Great review as always sir. I picked up a vintage Epi coronet with the full size humbuckers for my birthday. Wonderful instruments that stand the test of time.
😎👍 Nice!....are you think of putting a P90 back in that one?
Great Tone variations, Excellent Vintage Look!!! Colin, You did appear to really have "Fun" playing it!!! Really neat to find a surprise in a box, like an (Attic Find) in a new guitar most people are not that familiar with!!! Love the Vintage Vibe this guitar shows!!! Reminds me once again of my first Bass Guitar, the American made Epiphone I got for Christmas many years ago!!! Great Video as always!!! Cheers!!!!
Love your channel. My favorite of them all on RUclips. Such a good vibe. Be well, and keep up the wonderful work. It’s like a chat with a friend.
Thanks for supporting it's appreciated!
Loved the sound. The mini humbucker sound is incredible. Nice playing.
Thanks for the review my english friend! This is the best RUclips guitar review show going!! You rock
Cheers James thanks for the kind words and support!
Nice guitar, love the mini humbuckers. Great video Colin, thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'm so glad this guitar turned out to be so cool. Oozes class and casual at the same time
Great watching you dive into this guitar. Different slant to the video which added something any of us who are players know well. Losing yourself in discovery. Well done. That amp still doing top job too. Cheers mate, see you next week. ✌️
Cheers man! 😎👍
I love the tailpiece on these, it really does it for me!
Love your reviews! Keep up the amazing work!
Cheers man thanks for supporting!
I'm really impressed by the quality of this guitar and how reasonably priced it is. The tone of the mini humbuckers is wonderful, and it looks cool. What's to stop someone from going out and gigging with this guitar, especially if they're in a punk band? Terrific review!
You are the Best Colin! Thank you!
That amp has been great. It seems work very well with any guitar. Another great review, as always..
I saw one of these in person for the first time last week and I was very impressed by the quality. Not Gibson level, but not the student level build that the price would suggest. I’ve been wanting a single P90 instrument and I think I’d be confortable buying a Coronet once Sweetwater gets more in.
Not sure if anyone else has said anything about the pickup codes - but here is my guess - P=Pro,- MH = mini-humbucker, N=nickel, HB = humbucker (seems redundant), N or B = neck or bridge, C = Crestwood.
Wow that's a diamond in the ruff. Great jam as always. It was apparent that you enjoyed playing it. Thanks
😎👍
I love your silences. Can almost hear your internal discussions. Keep it up. Wish I could warrant another guitar.
Cheers man that's appreciated! ... others probably find it very frustrating and just want me to 'get on with it' but sometimes you have the think things through eh? 🤣👍
Another great video Colin. I love these three guitars. Wilshire on its way. If the Crestwood had p90s it would be that instead. Great playing and this is the only channel I always watch religiously every week. Thanks as always
Thanks Mark the support is appreciated!!
I had said you deserve more subscribers last week. This is me doing my part so that the algorithm blesses you.
Thanks mate that's appreciated!
What an amazing and cool guitar! I was lured immediately to clicking the video. Love your content as always, wish I could get my hands on one to try it out. Cheers!
Cheers Federico!
Very Cool Demo/Review. Stunning Guitar. Thankyou
Nice guitar. I'm liking the mini humbuckers. Enjoying the history on these as well. Seems like Epiphone has been doing a better job on QC over the last couple of years as well. Cheers Colin. I like this one as well.
Another crackin video mate, you’re becoming my favourite RUclips celebrity, charming fella you are!
Good onya cobba.
Cheers man that's appreciated! 😁👍
I love the sound of those pickups. As others have said, mini humbuckers are very versatile.
Another excellent, informative show, thank you!
Cheers Lin!
Impressed with how responsive those pickups are! Quite a lot of guitar for $500!! Thanks for the looksee!!
Loved your assessment even though I'm commenting on and older video.
Anyway , it's pretty sweet getting so much guitar for under $800 canadian dollars.
Love your playing style also.
Cheers may this find you well and safe.
Doug 😎
Great review as always. Great guitar. Like these 3 under the radar epiphones. In the first play part it had some floydian sounds and in the latter it felt zappa-eske. Great seeing you enjoy it!
Cheers mana haas! 😎👍
sweet guitar brotha!
fits nicely on ta mate! i see you found a groove with it straight away!
another splendid review my friend!
Thx colin, your reviews are the best as I just bought this 3 min ago, cheers
Nice one! 😁👍
You my friend are a great player. You're not technical, but you play with a feeling.
great in-depth review and I loved the outdo jam too... a+
Cheers man! 😁👍
That’s a fabulous sounding guitar. I love hearing you play! Im going to buy one. I love the Wilkshire as well! But this one speaks to me. I’ve played both of them and this thing feels gorgeous. The bite is knarly! I think it’s better than any SG. It’s also so unique. I ve never had a guitar with that kind of vibrato but im sure i can learn to use it or I can put it into the back and let it look pretty! Thanks mate!
Cheers Ray, thanks for kind words 😎🙏 yes this is a great guitar! 🔥
great sound, great playing again, love it ❤️
Thanks!
Another cool guitar! I'm perusing your older films again while you're off working, Colin. I bought the Epiphone 150th Anniversary Crestwood Custom Electric Guitar in California Coral color 10 months ago. I love it. It came with a hard shell case, but the outfit cost nearly 2x as much as the one in the film. I went with the it for 2 reasons: I like the control layout on the later '60's models like mine, and I do prefer the bat wing headstock. That said, I would be happy with the one featured here.
So glad epiphone brought all these back!
👍👍
That was a great play out jam. Looked like you were really having fun!
Too much fun I think! 🤣👍
Glad to get my weekly Guitaristas fix! Another outstanding review/demo.
Cheers Ferd, have a great weekend mate!
@@theguitaristas Thanks! You too!
Thank you. Beautiful guitar and great sounding amp.
That guitar’s a secret weapon. I think this one of my most favourite of your reviews so far 🙂. Absolutely wonderful demo. Personally, I thought the Epi looked better without the pickguard. I’d have left it off and tippexed over the screw holes. I’d probably remove the little plaque on the vibrato too. The headstock’s cool. Cheers for this! 👍🏼
Cheers man, I may put some stuff under that pickguard!! 😆👍
Interesting again, and super to have all 3. They do fly under the radar and it's great that you rectified changed that here. Often looked at them and they very much appeal aesthetically, but then I think how often would I really use them as a mostly at-home hobbyist who has the Strat, Tele, 335 and LP already. I will be interested to see what difference that saddle material change makes. Cheers
Brilliant review.
All killer, no filler!
Thanks man.
🙏😊
I just bought one of these at the guitar center in Monroeville, PA. USA. I bought it on my lunch break, cant wait to get it home and play!
Did you have to traverse any hordes of ZOMBIES on your journey?
@@ahighervibe4086 Yes, it was dangerous, but Mr. Romero had given me a map to traverse through those apocalyptic monsters. Myself and the Crestwood made it home without a scratch. :)
Interesting guitar and a great review as always.
Sweetwater is $600 here today, USA. May very well start saving up for this one. Your a great salesman. Like the deep dive looks into the guts of your collection. I have 2 white guitars & will be adding another by Christmas. Great review, as usual. Thanks again......😁
Planning for a White Christmas I like that! 😆👍 Cheers Mark, have a great weekend!
This guy rules 👊😎 Honest reviews 👏
😊🙏
Thanks for the review! Love that guitar!
Cheers Aljon! 😆👍
I just wanted to say it was definitely worth the wait … not my immediate favourite out of the 3 reissues (P90 man) but man when you roll the tone off the bridge it sounded amazing BUT the the neck was even better…. Still have my R8 but you can get a lot out of these Epiphones for no money 👍🎸. Fantastic series of videos mate 👍
Cheers Simon... love this guitar! 😎👍
Great vide Col. Knew you would get one! I’m tempted by all 3 of these
Cheers Dave... they make a nice little set for all occasions!
Personally, I think it’s a stunning guitar. That’s why I searched it up
Nice playin man...sounds good!
I really like your commentary at 35:48. Really nice words.
Cheers Matt! 😎👍
Great review, as usual. The only thing I would have added was a bit of playing where you wanged the hell out of the Trem system so we could a) hear what it sounded like, and b) see how stable the tuning was.
Ah yes, Friday morning so it's coffee and a cig on the back porch and time to see what Colin's up to this week. Cool Epiphone, but I'd prefer if that clear pickguard with logo was a delete option. The sounds are wonderful. Cheers to all from Dallas!
I enjoy watching the whole video
I love these Epiphone re-issues
I came across the Wilshire in an article about 2 years ago. Up until that article I had no idea there was ever an Epiphone Coronet, Wilshire, and Crestwood. But, I immediately loved everything I saw. Have wanted one ever since and hopefully will get my hands on one soon. Maybe that'll happen before the crazies blow this planet all to smithereens with their nuttery.
I bought one based on your review recently had surgery and can't lift heavy stuff so my les pauls are ruled out at the moment so I decided to give this a shot as I will be going back to uni hopefully in a few weeks and needed a light guitar, I personally am meh on sg's but this caught my eye, decided to watch your review as I love the no nonsense reviews, it turned up today and I love it and immediatly started writing riffs and had all my friends asking me "what the hell is that" (endearingly) they think it's proper cool and have never seen a guitar like it. It sounds a lot more versatile than your standard humbucker and the pots are a class touch! I remember when I was a naughty school boy in detention all the time reading a guitar history book and this crestwood custom same colour and all was in it and I never thought I'd get my hands on one so it is slighty surreal for me haha. Also (once they come back into stock) do you plan on reviewing the noel gallagher riviera? I must admit a lot of the current reviews are total shit in terms of playing or any proper details so would love to see the working mans take, not the business salesmen approach.
Cheers Lawrence, glad you are liking this guitar it definitely stands out and sounds incredible! 🔥 I tried to get the NG Riviera but no luck so far... hear the full story in this weeks review of the Joe Strummer Telecaster!
Love your channel and that guitar. I searched for this guitar it’s not available in any guitar shops in this area. I even searched Sweetwater but no luck. When I move to Florida I will look down there. Colin thank you for sharing, great job! :-)
Try Zzounds...
Ha good friend, you know I love your channel. In search of this Crestwood custom, I happened across this 2009 Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe in Heritage Cherry Sunburst. It’s waiting for me in Bradenton Florida. At Music Go Round. I didn’t see me buying a Gibson but this store has used guitars in beautiful shape. And for $1000.00 I had to buy it. Colin you can take half the credit for me finding this and buying it. I’ll be picking it up next week fingers crossed. Have a great weekend talk then…
Lovely guitar! Excellent review! Back on the day, I think it was 2012 or so, this Epiphone was for sale but in its faded white / cream colour but I couldn't afford it. I hope this instrument ever comes for sale in my country, I doubt it, but there's still hope! I'll buy it without hesitation. Cheers!
Cheers Ian!
Awesome again. Another great video thanks heaps Colin. Enjoyed the journey of discovery whilst having a coffee this morning. Thinking my addiction to buying guitars is almost as bad as yours..... Been looking at one of these for a while now. Might need to revisit the local shop now we are back from our trip. Look forward to seeing what you are up to next week. Cheers mate
Cheers Wes, we’re you away on the bikes? 😎👍
@@theguitaristas nah caravan and 4wd. Adelaide to Sydney along the coast 👍
As always a great video,,, a great mix of entertainment and learning some stuff... Thanks
Thanks dude that’s appreciated! 🙏😎
I’ve got the cherry red crestwood custom and Wilshire and a black coronet they are all Great guitars , they fit in the Epi SG case , the mini HB’s in the Crestwoods sound fantastic and all 3 have 1 piece necks , 2 piece bodies ,which can be seen on the translucent cherry finishes , very resonate and the Graphtech Tusq saddles on the Crestwood is a plus , smooth action with the trem , another Great Review , cheers from the Mississippi Gulf Coast 😎
Cheers Christy, and these are just about the coolest of guitars too I reckon! 😎🔥
@@theguitaristas they really are very cool 😎,like you said a very unique design , have a Great Day Colin ✌🏻🤘🏻
Great channel mate..I really dig the process and non bullshit content...
Thanks Ben that's appreciated!
Thanks again, I had to watch this one again. I think I'll pick one up.
Gracias!
Would really love one of these. Have wanted a coronet/Wilshire/crestwood style guitar for a while. I really love the Wilshire's with the tuning pegs all on top, rather than 3x3.
I kinda like guitars/finishes other people think are ugly. Don't know why but makes me feel like I see something they don't ha
Pssst...Hey, just recently found your channel. Very cool. Really enjoy your assessments, reviews, upgrades... .
A Crestwood is now on my radar.
BTW, you are of influencing my playing style, too.
Cheers man glad you found us! 😁👍
Unapologetically positive review, with the best ending "Gotta get the band back together to gig with this."
Says it all.
😆👍
I went to my local 🇨🇦 music store yesterday and tried out one of these beauties . Blown away by the tones emanating from it. Great-feeling neck too. Compared it to the Coronet at the same time. Those mini-humbuckers have a lot to offer. Unlimited possibilities with two pickups. Cheers!
You tempted to get one Adrian?? 😜👍
@@theguitaristas indeed, but first I must sell off some other guitars and being lowballed doesn't agree with me (a bit of the Glaswegian in all of us...ha) . All in good time.
That guitar is killer! Congrats!! What's hilarious is I saw a new in box 2017 Epiphone SG Special in Ebony on eBay a few weeks back. The seller was a pawn shop that provided only a vague description but had a picture of the skew sticker with the model number on it that I had to lookup to know for sure what was in the box. The seller only wanted a couple of hundred bucks for it so I bought it. Turns out it has a beautiful almost black rosewood fretboard and a flawless gloss ebony finish. Kinda cool snagging a 5 year old guitar still new unopened in it's box including all the case candy. 🎸🎸🎸
Nice one!... it's a good day when a guitar like that finds you eh? 😎👍
That guitar has got to the most beautiful sounding piece it looks like you melted away into that one mate ❤
Cheers man, yes I love this guitar 🔥
Bought an Epiphone Les Paul Standard after your review. I may get one of these, mainly do to your patient review. Thx.
😁👍
I didn't know I wanted this guitar. Thank you
You're welcome! 😎👍
Love this guitar id buy one...love the style...great video
