- Another stormwater management job that required removing trees, aquatic vegetation, hauling debris to the landfill with a @YanmarUSA, @ventrac and an AMP dump trailer, digging out a stump and seeding the area as well as stabilizing the soil, and more. I also used @toro 60 volt chainsaw and hedge trimmer, @echousa SRM3020U to string trim everything, and @dewalttv reciprocating saw to cut some thick weeds.

8 day job and you only charged $1550.......SMH
Is that what I said?
brooklynboy, you should go see a doctor, there is something wrong with your hearing
I think he’s talking about in the expenses list on Jber you did not include labor I’m guessing you probably charged in the 6000$ to $8000 range but that’s just a guess
@brooklynboy4224 pinned comments are the best comments 😂
@@mattsharkey311 there is no need to "think" or "guess" just make sure you listen and don't let the information go in one ear and leave out the other ear AKA selective hearing
You fell asleep and grew a beard, love it man. 😂
😂👍
if they had done yearly maintenance it wouldnt have needed this done. Good job you did really well.
You hit the nail on the head. Hopefully moving forward it will be done regularly!
Damn! You were getting in there with some serious laboring. Thought you might be a ventrac queen these days but that was some intense manual work.
Believe me, if I could sit in a machine all day, I would.😂 Unfortunately the jobs and the machines I have don't allow it yet!
Good morning, Brad. Good Lord, Brother! What a job! Seemed like a lot of "live and learn" moments, but you persevered and got it done. The end product is what counts and it looks great!
Thanks for another awesome video. Hope you and Mrs. have an awesome weekend! So much like MY wife. Willing to learn anything and there every step of the way. We're blessed!
Good morning! Thanks as always for watching and commenting Mr. Lou! Means a lot to me!
Wow! What a job, Brad! You made it look too easy in the video. I can't imagine the hard work that went in to this one. Lot of sweat, lot of manual labor, and a lot of satisfaction once the job was done. Your wife did a great job running the Yanmar. The beard looks great. I don't think I could have tackled a job like that without my beard. Great video!
Thanks Cameron! I appreciate the kind words! I need you to get Ventrac to make an excavator for us!😂👍
Digging the beard! Keep on rockin’ brother
Thanks! Will do!
Get you a old wagon that no one uses anymore and take the front handle/hitch and axles setup off it and make a turn table plate on top of it where the main wagon bed attached to the front half and then you can use it as a dolly for the bottom of branches and trees so when pulling them they dont dig in and damage the yard/grass
Great job. You are a hard working and very well spoken man. Best wishes.
I appreciate that! Thank you for the kind words!
You’ve helped me so much on bidding on jobs and your experiences thank you for making this content 👍🏼
Love the Stormwater projects Brad! Great cleanup and you always provide superb narration!! 👍
Glad you like them! Thank you for the kind words!
The beard is boss Brad! We all learn new things every day. We're lucky you share them! 😆
Thank you for the kind words!
It amazes me how much you do with just you and your wife helping. I would have thought a job of this magnitude would have required a crew of 5-10 guys. Thank heavens for the Ventrac and being able to rent that other stuff!!
I really appreciate this! I do go a lot slower than a 5-10 guy crew, though!😂👍
You can use a longer bar but you need to use a skip or semi skip chain so there’s less teeth. With a semi skip but every 3rd tooth removed it can help ease the load on your chainsaw.
That makes sense. It kept just stopping on me. I figured it must be some kind of load sensor or something tripping because of the extra strain.
Really enjoy watching these type videos. I don’t do this type of work for living. Great video and great job!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the comment!
Oregon mulching blade will help do the jobs you string trimmer can't,fits on the trimmer and mulches light brush and brambles.
Brilliant and cheap
Really good to see how your business has grown and diversified. It takes a lot of hard work, sleepless nights and confidence to move away from the "ordinary" every day work type into a more demanding job type. Keep up the good work with the videos.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
I don’t think you understand that he is not making money doing the work here. It’s RUclips. I’m willing to bet after 8 days of work those profits from the work are terrible.
Great video you did a amazing job I always wanted to get a Mini excavator
Thank you! I want one too!
Carbide circular saw blade on a trimmer works really good for that stuff. It will go right through 2-3" trees
Looks like it was a great learning experience for you, and well done! I believe you and your wife did a great job on the excavator, particularly if it was new for one or both of you. The learning curve is real. Thanks for a great video!
Thank you for the kind words!!
Wow , Great job, Really hard work…!!! This video should have a million plus views
Love these types of vids.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Those little excavators are an awesome buy. Even the cheap Chinese junk ones are a good buy. 10k out the door. I literally try to avoid Chinese stuff, but you can't deny those machines their due.
That was an awesome job! I always wondered how they cleaned those areas out.
Keep in mind I am still a novice, so my methods are probably some of the more labor intensive ones!😂
I think you need a 16 foot dump trailer
Brad, I remember watching a video somewhere, where Aaron shows how to put it in neutral when pulling it out when it gets stuck. Just like you would with a riding mower.
Great job under those circumstances!
Thanks!
Great Content!
Thank you!
Good job and although maybe longer and harder labor than expected you made profit so that is a win. Good call on the tree safety. Trees large or small can definitely get you killed. I own an excavator and do not sweat much on tree jobs.
do it all the time man. always bidding and thinking its gonna be quick or thats not alot and get into it and its 3 times more then thought and took longer but you still do it.
Glad it's not just me!😂
@@BakerCountyTrashPickup yeah youd think we would stop doing it but old habits are hard to break hahaha
Them kinda jobs with yer wild life no money would pay you
rockin the beard
Thank you!
Hi Mistur Brad I am very much liking your beard and thank you for being nice to my dad seanslawns and I watch your videos because you and my dad are friends byeeee
Thanks for watching! Bye!
u should invest in good winch. ATV winch 5000lb would work if you double up the line. that way you can be sitting on the tractor and be using the winch either with wireless remote or just the standard wire remote
You are right! I may look into a portable one before investing in one that lives on the back of the Ventrac.
@@BakerCountyTrashPickup Portable one is all you need. Hitch mount it. U could use it also on the trailer incase you need to pull something up into the trailer. run battery cables from your truck battery to the back of the truck and run the winch on the trailer or on your truck hitch. If u use 2 to 1 or 3 to one leverage you could even pull tree stumps. Your Ventrac is a beast. having a winch there would make life easier
Nice beard, Brad. Reminds me of a ship's captain. Copper Creek Maritime when? (Close enough with these storm water projects, right? 😄)
Lol maybe a rowboat with a string trimmer mounted to it?😂👍
Most enjoyable , are you going to do a longer version ?
I hadn't planned on it, but I could! What would you be looking for in a longer version? Just the work with no talking?
@@BakerCountyTrashPickup, an element of talking would be fine but basically you did so much work that I’d just like to see and enjoy more of it if possible . Thank you for replying .
16:41 blink twice if your in danger!
😆
Nice work, I was just wondering why you don't get a woodchipper for those trees.
Good question! I would have figured out how to load it on the trailer, and I still would have had to touch each piece by hand to load it in the chipper , and I still would have had to dump at the landfill.
Hey Brad will you be doing more videos on the bobcat
Yes! I was stuck waiting two weeks for a part from NAPA. Finally got it in!
My buddy that has a cranberry bog and has a rake that attaches to his excavator arm and he uses it to clean his ditches it’s just a simple tool to make your life easier
I'll look into it! What's it called?
@@BakerCountyTrashPickup idk it was home made
@@BakerCountyTrashPickup I was curious, and it looks like you can use an excavator root rake "may be rentable with the excavator". Looks like it would let you get all the plants in the middle of the ditch with less effort. Unless the excavator would have been too much with the wet soil. Thanks, and I enjoy seeing all the local spots you visit. On the westside of Jax!
Nice beard!!❤
Now you need a Harley!
Hey how do you advertise storm water management?
Very Good JOB it Looks so Nice
Thank you!
Great job as always. Do you ever wish you made a different decision than the ventrac? I have a bobcat mt100 and it can get in some hairy places. I’m not sure what landfill you go to but Otis Road is only $26 a ton. If you ever need something done with a bobcat let me know. Would love to do a collaboration with you. Donnie
No regrets. The bobcat probably would have torn up the turf a LOT more than the Ventrac and required a ton of seed or sod repair bills (just my opinion, I might be wrong). I'm also liking sitting vs. standing as I get older! :D Would love to work with you, too! Shoot me an email when you get a chance!
Do you just plan on gators being in every body of water in Fl?
"Better safe than sorry" 😆
💚👍👍👍
I always wondered how that big echo line trimmer is the 3010 or whatever. I got stihl 131s and a 240 mainly. Stihl has a brush cutter that’s 4.5 horsepower but I tried on the 3.0 HP smaller one with the harness and that was heavy as hell. So I got a 311 which has the 131 engine and the nice 4 point anti vibration. I got a lot of trimmers and bla bla
Haha, thanks for watching and commenting!
Beard??????!!
Its the only hair I can grow nowadays 👴
@@BakerCountyTrashPickup looks awesome 👌
@@BakerCountyTrashPickupkeeps your face warm in the winter months.
When r we gonna see the skid steer project again?
Should be a few weeks. I got delayed waiting on a part for two weeks.
Dredging the creek looks like backbreaking work.
Hey whatever happened to your green striker trailer?
It's still in the driveway, I just don't use it much. I got it so I could haul the 95" Ventrac mower but have not been successful getting much business for that service.
What happened to that big heavy duty lime green trailer you had custom built?
I still have it! I got it MAINLY for the wide area mower attachment for the Ventrac and that side of the business just never took off like I hoped.
over here we get to dump green waste for FREE
This stuff isn't considered green waste. It is construction debris.
did you quote this job after you were done?
I quoted the initial scope I talked about with the mulching excavator, they came back with their budget and we reduced the scope to match.
I would have hired a chipper for the trees
Not a bad idea, but I would have still had to manually touch every piece of wood after it got landed in that field and that is what I was hoping to avoid.
"Hey vsauce michel here"
:P
Why wouldn’t you chip the wood and leave it on site.
Not an option. Stormwater debris is treated as construction trash, not regular yard waste.
Oh my gosh Brad, are you OK? You gave me a jump scare with that beard
😂 🧔🏻♂️
The customer wanted a more conservative approach. I.e. the cheapest way.
Haha, basically!
[Experience tip]: Never ever ever ever buy an excavator - of any size. Cheaper to pay the high rental prices. Unless you have the space, mechanical equipment, skills, MONEY, unexpectedly lengthy repair and upkeep time, don't. Three-fifths of your excavator time is spent prepping and repairing the machine.
That isn't what I want to hear, but I don't doubt you are right!😂 Thank you for the tip!
Dude what are you doing? Charge more and hire some guys. Or just stop taking jobs like this. Or do you just do this because it’s a good video? Don’t make people believe you are actually making good money doing this. If you only had that job and no RUclips would you make $ on this job? I highly doubt it
