Can't believe how many records that I have in my collection that you've shown. Especially the 7"s since I have lived all my life on the East Coast. Let's just say that we both have great taste and awareness of the bands and killer music.
Fun video! I thought the intro was HELLA cool. Most of those full lengths I own on cassette. I never felt compelled to get them on vinyl. I can kick myself for not getting that “Gilman Street Block Party” when I had the chance many years ago. It would’ve been a lot cheaper than the going asking price on Discogs, and in minty mint condition. The Dead Kennedys fallout over “Holiday In Cambodia” is definitely true. Jello thought the song’s use in the commercial would have been antithetical to what the DKs and their music stood to represent. I agree. I love CRIMPSHRINE, and think GREEN DAY’s “39/Smooth” LP is tops. Very Small Records > Lookout! Records, but I do adore both.
@@vinylpuff thanks for the clarification! Definitely a bummer about the DK falling out. Regarding the Gilman comp, I bought my copy for $30 and it’s in good shape, hopefully you find one for a good price soon. Thanks for watching 🙂
The members of Dead Kennedys sued Jello because he was not paying royalties to the members of the band . He lost the lawsuit and no longer has rights to sell their records. The same thing happened to the members of Black Flag . They sued Greg Gin in 2017 for the back royalties that came out of a dispute over who would be able to use the name in the future. It was settled for an undisclosed amount of money. Greg Gin stopped paying royalties to bands around '88 . They all should sue him. He is probably the most disliked person in Punk. He won't even let his brother reproduce the Black Flag logo even though his brother Raymond created it. Absolutely make a part 2. The punk roots go deep in SF. I love Victims Family. I sold my Lookouts 45s very cheap to some lucky soul on eBay years ago. I needed the money.
Nice again. You said the Dead Kennedys "Bedtime for Democracy" album is probably an original press. Was there included a full newspaper inside? You did not show it. I was surprized. You can find pictures of it in the www.
“Closet Fiends was a folk punk project by Sam Sadowski. She started it in San Francisco, California while she was homeless. Closet Fiends is the only EP she released in 2015. It was released by Fat Wreck Chords. Sam Sadowski died in October 2019.” …so, San Francisco / Northern California
@ Born and raised as opposed to when and where the artist was living when it was made are 2 different things. I still say San Francisco. Jawbreaker was originally formed in New York, relocated to Los Angeles, and are exclusively identified as a Bay Area band. I’m sure there are songs that were written and played before they settled in California, both southern and northern.

Loved the intro loved the video 👊
Closet Fiends is a deep cut album. Amazing, sad, original and missed.
@@godkeebler RIP Sam 🥀

Haha, yeah, the first few AFI records and the last few AFI records sound like two different bands.

Closet Fiends is from Texas...
@@chadmorris1285 my mistake. I thought since it was recorded in San Francisco, thanks for letting me know

@xcratchy Born and raised in Austin Texas. It's on the Fat Website and you can find old stuff on RUclips before the album was recorded from texas

@xcratchy So I'm from Ontario Canada. If I wrote an album here and went to SF to record it id be an SF artist 😆
Dead Kennedy's, Chicken shit conformist like your parents is one of the greatest punk songs ever written.
