Excellent video. i was thinking about getting this and using the compressor as a leveler for other pres. Is the comp usefull/ decent for tracking vocals? What u think? In the future, It would be good to hear your honest assessment of the unit as well. The comparisons were real helpful. Btw i really like the red1, very smooth
An excellent overview and very helpful. I plan to get a pair for double mic'ing the acoustic, but also for re-amping an electric. The gear comparison provides a good baseline to differentiate the characteristics. And it's not that one vendor is better than the other, but instead what's preferable for the production requirements. You also stepped through each function deliberately. Those few minutes sold the product. Thank you! Other reviews tend to demo presets that don't clearly show the range of capabilities. Cool studio. Nice lamps! I subscribed. Good afternoon sir...Thanks allot for your good understanding video about ssl Chanel six+ Sir I am from Pakistan and now I am purchasing studio equipment for my home studio in mid range bujet so I am purchasing sm7b danamic mic because of un accoustic studio environment but it's temporary after some period I will add Neumann U87AI apallo x4 and neve sherfold Chanel strip as my studio construction complete and after accoustic treatment...So now I decided to take ssl2+ interface choose from Audient I'd 14 mark2, black lion audio and ssl2+ because it's good sound quality and specially 4k option that will inhance sm7b sound the other thing is I am planning to purchase solid state logic SSL 500 series six Chanel...that have mic preamp 2 band EQ and one knob compressor...sir is it will be beneficial to add this Chanel strip with ssl2+ interface for good quality out put??? please sir sujest this SSL 500 series six Chanel if it would be better to add with SSL interface ore sujest any other in that bujet or tell if it is not beneficial of this addition...sir also tell is it necessary to add cloud lifter Cl-1 or any other mic booster before the interface in vocal chain...I want good result for vocal recording with sm7b and ssl2+ interface... please sir also reply me on my Gmail if you don't mind.I will be very thankful for your kind advice and cooperation maherismailtara@gmail.com
i know it is late and i am also from lahore pakistan question regarding ssl2+ and ssl six preamp, when you connect external preamp like ssl six to audio interface like ssl2+ you need to put gain on 0 on audio interface to work with ssl six. think of audio interface as power amp to make ssl six work and also it depends on you if you need external preamp or not.

I feel on vocals the six is more gritty
The point of a review is for you to give your thoughts on the sound and how it compares with the others. I don’t see that in the video.
