Armin Power sport entertainment has box sets for the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. They’re pricy at $170 each, but you can get them.

Ante Juric I think it’s just the races. I wish they would make a set with every session, I have no idea why the wouldn’t
F1 tv has quite a few old races dating back to '82 I believe. It's only $2.99US per month. Plus you can watch current season races a couple days after they happen. For a higher price you can watch live, but I'm cheap lol.

Program Hunter If only you knew how hard it was to control a car with 800hp with turbo. Yeah Nakajima was outclassed by every single team mate he had but he has openly said that he never pushed the car very hard because he was afraid of crashing. To be honest I don't blame the guy at all they were pretty much in cockpits of death until 1995.

Thierry Boutsen's Williams FW13B from 1990 with that beautiful 3.5L V10 Renault engine had the best sound of all the cars in this video. I understand the substantially reduced noise in Alain's FW15C had more to do with the microphone in the onboard camera than anything else, but still, if you listen to just one year earlier in Nigel's FW14B, the difference is staggering.
Of course, Satoru Nakajima's '87 Honda-powered Lotus turbo is no slouch either.
@@JonathanAllen0379 Williams FW24 of 2002 is teh best sounding Williams ever imo. In general the BMW engines were a beaty to hear.

I love how in some of this footage you can still see the old path of eau rouge going left into the woods as the cars go right up radillon.
There is a hairpin back there. That was by bypassed before WW2. That section still exists and there is a house back there. Search "Circuits Of The Past", and they walk that section.

it's impressive how cars are getting softer and softer. i mean, no tremblings, no harshness, but softer for the driver. it's like drivers head doesnt shake anymore haha

Formula 1, Liberty Media, please please please give us classic races and race weekends in quality like this. I have all the seasons from 84 onwards but the quality is abysmal for most of it. I've been hoping for the ability to purchase old F1 races (or have them uploaded to RUclips) since the Liberty buyout. It would make my life.

z00h He only had issues after watching this video, perhaps Formula E was part of the problem, sadly high frequency sound could cause damage to speakers and headphones, generally Formula E engines tend to be less of a problem because it is usually played at a lower volume

the engines became quieter but at the same time, lap times improved, fuel efficiency was improved, technology is more advanced. Stop just looking at the past thru rose-tinted glasses. Loud=fast and F1 has always been about being fast

People trying to be different for the sake of being different are just bores. Obviously the current engines are dull and far less exciting than the older engines, in every possible way. They could have 2000bhp, but they'd still be dull.
What I learned from this video is that there's a lot of onboard footage from before 2000 that needs uploading asap! Great vid btw.

It's been a good season so far. Just bring back some of each past eras. Manual box from 80's, mechanical grip of the 90's and the sound of that 2004 Williams!

1. when I saw the video title I was half expecting B&W footage from the old Spa circuit
2. the old camera positions gave a vastly superior impression of speed
3. modern hybrid F1 cars sound incredibly boring

I think I probably enjoy watching Thierry Boutsen's onboard video probably more than anybody else's. Not even necessarily in this particular video, because there are so many great ones, but other videos generally his onboards are the best.

Brotex the V10s of 04-05 were the absolute best. They broke 19k rpm and weighed 200lbs. They sounded like they were going to explode at any minute and it was orgasmic
