Since you mentioned Taylor.... do you think she's in denial that she's gay, or accepts it but just prefers to keep that part of her life private? Or do you agree with a lot of her fans -- that it would destroy her career if she came out, and she doesn't want to risk that? (If a girl is in her early thirties and has already made more than a billion dollars, does that mean she has a lot MORE to lose, or what the hell does she care if she loses a few fans -- and who would want those fans anyway?) Or do you think she just likes to toy with people - play with them for her own amusement -- or that it adds to her novelty, in some way -- her exoticness, if that's a word? (There's a word for women who suggest they might be bi, isn't there -- or want to appear "chic"?) It's been so long since Taylor was a "country" artist - and I never for a minute considered her a country artist anyway - I don't even like country, and I bought her first CD the minute it came out. Anyway, if she's really on the side of gays, which she's made abundantly clear she is, wouldn't she be thrilled to cut the homophobes down to size, by coming out? Anyway, thanks. After that short vid of her supposedly kissing KC- some of her female fans made a few utterly vile comments on her social media. They seem to be quite a nasty, vicious minority. I sensed some fear from her publicists at the time. However, the fiction of her “dating” the big butch football player may be a step too far. Is she gay? yes. Will she ever come out? No.
Oh, I think she's closeted for a reason, but I don't have any idea what that reason is. Pretty hard way to live, IMO. But she seems to have it down. She wants it all, I hope she gets it........
I have also thought about this for a while now. I suppose based on everything I've read (went down the Gaylor rabbit hole) - that TS is obsessed with her image. Her father who also drives the infamous PR machine and who runs many of her business ventures is definitely homophobic - read somewhere that he made rude comments about a Swift family member for being gay at a family dinner, and Taylor apparently stormed off. This was around 2015/16 if I remember correctly....so I guess it's a combination of personal and public scrutiny that makes her stay closeted....
crazy how you reviewed two movies and i immediately found and watched them back to back within 5 hours in the middle of the night….thank you for your recommendations. somehow you hav become a staple for sapphic centered cinema collection.
When she comes out we will all say thank you, wonderful, we knew. I couldn’t finish the Laureate. Very pretentious, yet weirdly lacked depth, came across as surface, felt very slow. The other woman reminded me of Rose McGowen and I found it distracting in a negative way. BUT even I am number 4 Dianna had a look with Teresa Palmer (fall down that rabbit hole of them hugging for the premier. You’re welcome.) Dianna is smart, gorgeous and I would never ask her out. I doubt I’d be able to form words.
I love Graves’s book The White Goddess. He explores the British pagan tradition in great detail, how patriarchy was mens salvation from a pitiless all-powerful Goddess.

It would be nice if you did look deeper into the writers. A lot of these movies coming out about real people are changing the history and having someone invested in these topics should be educational. Any new books worth a darn?
