- Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I hope you had a fantastic holiday. It's very cold in Northern BC, but Buttercup and I are lovin' every minute of it (especially Buttercup!). In this video, I turn the water back on and finally get to splitting the logs fro m the windsnap tree cut up over Christmas. I hope you enjoy it!

Always enjoy your videos. Now this might be a bit presumptuous of me but I almost always point the empty wheelbarrow in the direction I want to go to avoid having to do a 180 with a full load.

I lived on a sailboat for 25 years traveling around mainly in the Pacific Ocean. I did spend time in your neck of the woods and loved it. Due to changes in my life, I moved ashore. I have since collected a lot of stuff, but that is okay. Mainly tools. Enjoy your solitude, I still have that where I live now in the Rocky Mountains of Western Montana. I do miss being on the water, but I love my home and the quietness where I live. Take Care Ernest

hi. the ways is for bringing boats in and out of the water. when the owner needs to change the zincs on his hull, scrape barnacles off the bottom or make some repairs on the outboard he’ll haul the boat out with the ways.

Great video. We have a really old home built log splitter and at 65…it’s a god send when u are cutting and splitting g 8 cords of wood a year. Love your choice of music thru out the video. Cheers 🇨🇦🌷
ohmagosh... i can't imagine what i'd do if i had to split all that wood by hand?! I'd be at it all day and not even get close to what i can do with the log splitter in an hour - haha! thank you for watching :)!

Hi Amanda. Another nice video. Sorry to hear about your skin infection . A friend of mine got something similar when she was around a lot of wood and wood dust etc. Nice to have the water back on in January. We would not be able to do that until April here on the east coast. Butter cup looks to be in good shape. I have a Boston terrier that is 14 this spring. He is still truckin along too. Albeit at a slower pace. Be well.
Thank you... eczema is the worst! It does run in my family (I believe it's hereditary), but I have been one of the lucky kids that didn't get it too bad in the past. Butter is doing pretty good... she's turning 11 next month (that's pretty old for a Newf)! I love Boston Terrier's... such lovely dogs. I would be SO blessed if Butter stuck around to see 14 :)!
Amanda, you're a hard working girl! I hope the owners realize what a "Gem" they have found in you, you amaze me your work ethics!! . .... You remind me of myself in my younger years. ..... I worked hard all of my life. - When I saw you pushing that loaded wheel barrel "For Exercise " It freaked me out. Sweet girl you get plenty of exercise walking the property , raking, splitting wood, burning, checking everything, e.c.t .... Trust me when I say (don't push heavy loads #unnecessary )....Its too hard on a woman's body.
Allow #My Story ?, so maybe I can save ONE person from what happen to me. .... I was working hard, loading, packing, pushing, stacking and carrying heavy boxes, for 3 weeks, helping a friend move in 2018 , when suddenly #I.Could.Not.Breathe! Trip to ER and they found nothing wrong, this went on for over #TwoYears when finally after seeing #NINE specialists , My diaphragm had torn causing my spleen to slip up and embed into my left Lung, then s l o w l y tore more causing my stomach to slip up into my chest crushing my #HeartandLungs. I come close to losing my life. ...... Im ok after four major lung surgeries, and a collapsed lung. How ever It did permanent Lung damage, and I will never be the same.
🐼Amanda what your doing is awesome, personally, I think you have the "The Perfect Job" and you're the perfect girl for this paradise homestead! I Love watching and listening to your Bear and Cougar stories, and I love Buttercup . Just please don't over do heavy pushing and lifting ( Use the truck 😉 #usethetruck 🤕), its so hard on a woman's body. (Men too, but women do not have muscle like men ) .... My family owns GYM's across the States, and I know IF we exercise wrong, we can injure our body's, I was told that all my life but I ignored the warnings 😢 ... 🦊🐺🐻🐼🐾🦊 ...PS: this was in 2020 in the mist of the pandemic.
