2 points: 1-If you stick ‘em with an awl to as you say effectively make them brain dead, you are also stopping the heart from beating thus it can not fully bleed out. 2-Place the fish in a slurry of ice and sea water that is the most effective way of preserving the meat. Placing it in a bucket of water that is allowed to sit out all day effectively poaches the fish. (Even if it’s not a hot day).
Nice video! How heavy were the sinkers? I have the same rod and wanted to know if it can handle 6-8 oz sinkers
We started with 5, then went to 6's and it worked! Coulda handed an 8 if it was really necessary but I did just order a heavy action rod too!
