I love...love the way the flute and clarinet talk to each other back and fourth in this piece and the way the flautist at 1:17 expresses the response...amazing.
Andreas Ottensamer (Clarinetist) He is only 21 Years old İn there.I realised he was born in 1989 and looked to the date 2010 And ı was very suprısed.I met with him and he is so nice person. Can you imagine you are only 21 and you are in Berlin Philharmonic...21 Years Old!!!!
Stunning. Every phrase is thought-out, individually profiled, delicately brought together. Listen to the shift in weight to the first beat in the strings near the end; the lower horn parts staying in balance. And quite to the contrary, nothing is on auto-pilot. It must have been thrilling to sit in the violas and listen to those wind solos.
If the marketing department at Berlin Phil knows what's good for them, all promotional materials will include the principal clarinet. He is absurdly attractive.
This performance is absolutely amazing! But I dislike the note that is held longer than usual by Andreas Ottensamer at 1:42. To me, it tears up the motion of the part that leads back into the main theme. Jarvi's interpretation of this piece, to me, is subpar, but the performance is absolutely outstanding, nonetheless!
I think I saw Andreas Buschsatz, otherwise known as the violinist who broke his violin bow playing in the hall of the mountain king, also conducted by Järvi
@atomicmrpelly Speaking as a conductor, the Nehru jacket is actually a lot less obtrusive than tails. The Nehru has less "moving parts"- so the conductor's movement is obstructed much less than with tails (and there is much less extraneous visual noise). It may seem like some sort of weird "fad", but the Nehru is actually preferable to many conductors for many practical reasons! Cheers!
The conductor essentially keeps the rhythm of the entire orchestra, they are looking at him. Just not directly, they have a music sheet to follow as well.
@ctfamily40 I'm sorry but I'm also a conductor and I just disagree completely! If you are concerned about comfort then go on stage in your dressing gown and slippers! The instrumentalists ought to be exerting themselves far more than the conductor (Dudamels aside) and they manage just fine! And a white shirt is not visually distracting in the least, it draws your attention to the conductor's centre and reflects light onto his face. That's why white tie & tails has remained popular for so long!
I love...love the way the flute and clarinet talk to each other back and fourth in this piece and the way the flautist at 1:17 expresses the response...amazing.
You translated my feelings..
I totally agree! Sorry to be finicky but a person who plays a flute is actually referred to as a flautist, no idea why!
@@jimbus2982 Haha no I appreciate the correction and it has been fixed! Thank you! :)
@@jimbus2982 flutist is just as fine as flautist, its a matter of habit which u say
That is Emanuel Pahud, probably the finest flautist/flutist alive today. And we do not care if it is flutist or flautist.
I love the conductor’s gesture, so smooth and tender:)
😂😂 it looks like hes trying to dance to it
This is so unbelievably beautiful.
They all are great musicians!
0:36 just fascinated how well the director's movements blend with this piece of art 👌🏼👌🏼
Music from heaven.
Guys dont complain its already one of the best versions
I have never heard this played more perfectly. Incredible!
Not even close to the Barenboim version.
I love Berliner Philharmoniker. The best in world in my humble opinion. Greetings from Prague.
I guess he has to justify why he’s the clarinetist. If he played like any other clarinet he wouldn’t have stood out
Easily the best rendition of this piece I’ve found. Well played!
The director is perfect, i like the expressions...👌
this clarinetist is absolutely fantastic but his interpretative choices bug me to no end
I totally agree!
And Pahud is answering the same way... dreadful. Such a shame
Agreed
True, but to be fair he's probably played the piece like 100 times and wants to change it up a bit
*hate* the clarinet's interpretation... Jesus Christ it's Tchaikovsky not a recital.
One of the most beautiful pieces of Classical music 😍
hearing things like this make me feel so happy :) music gives life!
Music is first-rate therapy, for whatever ails you.
I really appreciate this kind of music, great songs!
1:43 how to conduct and orchestra.
*proceeds to cue telepathically*
You really can only afford to do this with an excellent orchestra that really knows what it is doing
i was waiting for some kind of rapid arm waving etc. nope.... mental collapse
He was vibing
Every one has there own style
This waltz is magical. So is the entire ballet.
If only, This beautiful planet could be in unison.
I am addicted to this kind of classical musics
It's so interesting to switch your ear's focus to each instrument after another
Great woodwind playing we have here

Aww...I was so ready for the cellos to come in...
Bravo!! Bravíssimo!! 👏👏👏
One of my favorites! I love it!
simply gorgeous!
is it just me or does the conductor look like he's exhausted after running a couple of miles.
More like spending too much time at the supper table. hahaha

@@Glinkaism1 supper lol shut up
He looks like he’s in pain.
It's been 9 years, are you still active?😛
Beautiful:)

Smug and annoying, is more like it.
And the flutist. Pahud is the best
聴き慣れた音楽だから、ちょっとだけ軽くながしていたけど
これは、、やばいな、、、すげえ音楽や、
そしてオーボエ素敵
What different dynamic! I really liked.
About the note longer than the usual, Andreas made it became magical! Just perfect!
Where's the introduction and the harp cadenza?
clipped video not the original one
GrOOOOOOßartig 💃

Great Music!
Brillo total. Sin Palabras.
Hermoso 🥰👏🏻...
Sickest Drop of all time is at 0:36 change my mind.
Hermoso!!
Tchaikovsky piece this work for his favorite rose bush!
quite stylish. was at this concert- the first piece was Shostakovich 14!
wish the philharmoniker would perform bis's (encores) more often
Muito lindo!🙏🏻❤️💐👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇧🇷🖖🏻
aw, I was playing this too with my orchestra. I play clarinet but unfortunately I wasn't as good as Andreas Ottensamer

The sound of flutes let me encantei.
Excesivo el rubatto del clarinete o me lo parece?. Aunque suena grandioso, es cierto.
Great clarinet solo!

The Best !
Was this an encore?
Yes, it was.
Epic!

einfach wunderbar
uffff hermosa pieza musical, estoy mojadísimo XD
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Waltz of the Flowers
Berliner Philharmoniker
Billy Straus, conductor
This is trully an orchestra running in auto-pilot...
Which is not always a bad thing for a conductor.
hahaha! Timeworn masterpiece. Could use a LOT more gusto.
the clarinet at 0:13 is fantastic!
LOVE IIT 💝💝😇😇
Vim pela Brasil Paralelo, perfeito !

anyone mind telling me what a conductor does? these musicians aren't looking at him. dude just looks like he's dancing.
The conductor essentially keeps the rhythm of the entire orchestra, they are looking at him. Just not directly, they have a music sheet to follow as well.
^^ yes
this conducted is not that good in this situation though lmao 😂
🌸
flexible oboe sound

A Andreas Ottensamer le ha dado un ataque de musicalidad.

Upsetting that this isn't the entire piece. Cuts off before the best part.
@atomicmrpelly
Traditional Conductor dress
@PianoKwanMan Well then I guess I agree with Mahler on the subject of tradition!
