I took my daughter there over a year ago. Was awesome! Funny thing is, we live not far from the real Alexandria, VA. Which looks nothing like the show, but cool anyway.
Alexandria is basically Washington D.C. and very urban. I work a few miles away. Housing architecture in TWD Alexandria is very similar to how town homes look in the area tho.
I worked at Hollbergs Furniture for 7 years before Senoia got popular. That railroad and bridge is used in Fried Green Tomatoes, the house is also right there as well. Pet Cemetery 2 house is also around the corner. My mother and sister still work at Hollbergs and my Father owned a Clock Shop right beside the Post office. So many memories.
And every Ga Native from this area knows Starr’s Mill or even would have a pic of it in their homes. I’ve caught many fish there. If you look closely in the movie Sweet Home Alabama, there’s a pic of Starr’s Mill in his house. A house that is actually on Lake Wynnmeade in Peachtree City. Should’ve found some locals to show and tell you some real cool history and stuff.
Look up Atlanta Movie Tours. They will take you from Atlanta to Senoia and back. You can also take a bus from Atlanta to Newnan P&R and take a taxi from there.
2:15 -- right.. ftwd- also golf. why? Amazing to see soo big sets getting licensed. What about cars sourrounding the set, HUPING? (tooting)? What about fans on the parking lots? This tour is amazing,
+Kombiice yes it's very cool indeed! If i remember correctly, when filming they'd close off everything inside the city and the businesses would have back entrances people could use.
I live in ga it's cool to know that a popular show is filmed about 30 min from me but since I live so close to it it's not special to go there because I know what to expect
The Search For Awesome I know it's so cool to be walking where one of favorite shows took place I got a rick action figure and my dog chewed hiS hands off now I call my dog a zombie and also the gazebo was in the background when the team was sneaking up on Woodbury I went in the gazebo and I felt so cool and my mom would not stop talking about it :|
I went to six flags yesterday and stayed in a hotel and I visited a whole bunch of places where it was filmed it was so cool and they were filming season 9 😆😆😆
Local here, we say SUH - NOY. The town was named after princess Senoia of the Creek Indians, and they were a part of the Coweta tribe which the county was named after. That is pronounced COW - WETTA. That is how the indians pronounced it so thats how locals pronounce it. I pronounced it wrong before I moved here too. Great tour i suggest taking it!
yes all real.....I was metal shop foreman for three seasons. I Built the prison set, Woodberry Gates, the Hilltop, and Alexandria. You are wrong about where the gates were

The tracks at 30 was the tracks to terminus. They filmed the girls walking there and CGI a tunnel there
+Brittenay Johnson really? You mean the tracks on this video, right? I asked the guides if they were used for terminus, and they said no. Cool stuff!

+usnavyvet2002 oh wow that is cool! So it's not full of zombies? Bummer. Yes it is definitely worth a visit.

+usnavyvet2002 very cool!
Starr's Mill (at the end of your video) was also in a few movies as well. Sweet Home Alabama, and the Newest Conjuring film.
Omg did they use that last bit you said for a episode... where they lead the whispers and walkers off the top.
I went there, Senoia is soooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!!!! From Chile to Woodbury/Alexandria
+mistresselyria yeah, I loved it! I want to go back and get another tour. I've heard there are other options :)

+J.B Grimes yeah that was cool! I've heard it's been used in some movies
I'm thinking of visiting from England. Hell of a trek but I want to do it! Is there anyway to get down to Senoia from Atlanta via public transport?
Good question! I really don't think so. It's not really close to Atlanta. Maybe a taxi or something like that?
Look up Atlanta Movie Tours. They will take you from Atlanta to Senoia and back. You can also take a bus from Atlanta to Newnan P&R and take a taxi from there.

+Tank Kush oh wow nice! I want to say someone in town told me how to pronounce it, but I don't exactly remember.
+The Search For Awesome well as far as a I remember it's SE-NOY-YA
+Tank Kush oh really? The locals said it was se-noy - odd se-noy-ia makes more sense
+EugeneStonersRifle it's all good! I thought the locals told me it was Se-noy. Glad to get that cleared up
