@@CountryCowboy008 They probably pre-recorded the song before they shot the scenes like many movies do. In that scene, they're mostly only shooting the visuals, and the vocals have already been recorded. They might use a combination of pre-recorded and live vocals tho on scenes that are more emotional and personal.

Ever since Hairspray Live, I thought the connection would be something us musical theatre geeks can admire. Both Hairspray and Wicked were my first two musical obsessions long before they worked together.

The first time I heard Kristin sing was the Wicked cast recording and I’ve been a fan since. And yet, I still haven’t made it to NYC.
If Kristin is happy for Ariana, I’m happy for her too. I wanted to see the latter in another musical since they did Hairspray Live together. So far, I’m loving her Glinda costume. My final verdict will be hitting the high notes
There is a clip of her on Entertainment Tonight lip syncing to her track in a rehearsal. She sounds great!

This reminds me of Ariana Debose and Rita Moreno talking about Anita in West Story and how the only true way to live up to a previous performance is not to try to and rather to be different. Don't "fail" at the same goal, allow yourself to have a different goal as a different actor. You will never be as good as the original because what they did WAS original. But you can create something original with previously done content.

Can there still be a positive definition for ‘groomed?’, if so, that is what Ariana was for the film version of wicked. Kristen has been keeping her eye on Ariana and, imo, most definitely had the privilege to voice an opinion about whom should play Galinda in the movie musical. Which would make for the unfortunate disadvantage to Amanda Seyfried resulting in her losing said role.

I honestly have lost hope for all the Broadway rendition movies. Les Mis had awful singers, Cats was cringy, Dear Evan Hansen had horrible acting….all have been so bad I don’t think this will be any better.

I hate when people compare actresses or singers. It’s the most annoying thing ever, Ariana is going to do her thing and embrace the character and make her own just like he said. This lady did a good job on her time but people need stop comparing and expecting the same. -- just like “who’s gonna be the next Beyoncé” I would say F that! She had her moment,she was who she was and is; now new people will come along and be the next whoever.

I'm nervous about this movie for 3 reasons... #1 who knows if ariana grande can even act...
#2 Since Cynthia Erivo made those disgusting comments about American Black culture a while back, everything she's appeared in has been a flop.
#3 Who told Ariana and Cynthia they had to lose so much weight for these roles. Cynthia has always been in great shape as she is an athlete. She looks just as shockingly thin as Ariana
I know for the first one Ariana did daily acting and vocal lessons to get ready for her audition then continued the lessons up to the time she started filming. She also has read every book on Glinda and did intensive research on the character and learned everything there is to know and from what the director and everyone else has said this is Ariana as no one has ever seen her before
Ariana has done DEEP and THOROUGH character research! Reading every book she could, working with Kristen and one of the best acting coaches in Hollywood. She’s gonna be amazing

@@MatthiasHamilton Ariana started on Broadway. She has lots of acting experience. A lot of people underestimate Ariana because she was mostly casted as dumb characters in comedies so it’s not fair to judge her when you haven’t seen her in more serious roles, but keep in mind she had acting experience and musical theatre background before she was even casted as Glinda and like the people above said, she’s been preparing doing research, taking acting classes, and reading books.
then we got idina menzel bitter about not having the CGI producers defy her gravity by simply CGI aging for her to reprise the role lol embarrassing for her.
