Pinto was loved when she lived! You gave her the best life! We all know this...because you generously shared your lives together with all of us. Mahalo nui loa to you and Pinto. Losing such a family member can never be easy. I still haven't gotten over my li'l Buddy when he passed at 15 years of age. That was 15 years ago, too. You are a young and vital man, and I hope you'll find another animal companion to help you with your journey through life. Heaven bless you and Pinto always. Aloha!

    The BAXTER PERFORMANCE
    CARTRIDGE TO SPIN-ON OIL
FILTER ADAPTER for the jeep jk keeps oil in the top side of your engine so the oil doesn’t accumulate only in the oil pan after sitting a long time. So the cams stay lubricated with oil.👍🏽

Great work Jason... I love your Wrangler mods and that you work on the ground and not a lift! and love the dog, mines the same way. I drive a 2012 JK Sport everyday here in the PNW. How are you liking the B&M shifter after break-in??? My OEM tranny shifter at 79K miles feel pretty tight, a little loose maybe, easy to shift. Definitely not as wobbly as yours on the vid. But way looser than my '52 CJ2A or '85 CJ-5 (hey, that rhymes). It's never popped out of gear, but then again, I don't hammer it offroad. She's a ridge runner/creek jumper/mall crawler! I am like you that I do mods just because I can... are you thrilled with the B&M shifter? PM?

So sorry for ur loss, dogs are extremely good companions. I’m a farm boy and had plenty of dog on the farm. Farm boys usually look at animals differently then other people, partly bc most of the animals are for work or food, but when we lost my wife’s dog and her daughter, the dog’s daughter, it was pretty difficult for me, so I know it was bad for my wife. Thank you so much for the content you share. I’m building an ‘08 tundra. 35” K02’s, 3” lift on icon 2.5 stage 3, and SPA adjustable uca. I’m probably going to do a bed topper and camp out of the back of my truck. We’ll see how things go.

They really are more then just an animal they arent just dogs. They are family, companions, rocks, life savors... Just know that every moment she spent with you was the best moments of her life, you made her life amazing i bet she had no regrets with that.

For your oil dry starts, Baxter Performance has a screw on oil filter assembly with a check valve in it that elemenates dry starts. I put one on my Jeep 3.6L engine and no more worries of dry start. You can tell every time you start it, no valve rattle.

Sorry for your loss. I understand we all lose someone close by both humans and animals. I recently went through the same thing and don't know if you believe in God, but it does talk about a place for our animals to go and knowing that has a better sense of relief, but will still be missed. On another note, I know these new vehicles may have this feature, curious if you know about older vehicles can do the same thing that don't have the throttle by wire but by cable. One thing haven't googled, but since you use to have an obs, I am curious if you do know. I only do this after changing oil by pulling the fuel pump relay. Other than that, I have not but it does throw a light if I do which is why I only do it once since my rig is on and off between being started. Again, sorry for your loss.

We never really forget our pets when they pass on, which is a good thing, because they leave us with so many irreplaceable memories. I’m subscribed and have watched your channel for years, and have recently started doing a number of your exceptionally well documented maintenance tasks on my 2017 JKU (oil, coolant, tire rotation, differential fluid, etc). Have you ever done a how to on servicing the throttle body and the MAF? That’s coming up on my JK and unfortunately there’s not a lot of good info on this topic on the tube. Looking forward to more of your helpful and inspiring content. Thinking of you. Cheers…

Sorry to hear about Pinto. I lost one of my dogs a few months ago and it was tough. It has gotten a little easier, but I still miss that dude.

Sorry about the loss of Pinto, my lab just turned 13. Every minute is a blessing. I also just replaced all of my rocker arms and lifters at 118k miles on my JKU due to dry starts though, so this tip is hopefully going to help my new ones last forever.

Jason, I've been following along your channel for a long time. I am very sorry for your loss, just know you have support. Your JKU is iconic to me and I took inspiration and advice when building my own. I've moved on from the do everything JK platform to split duties between a GMT800 daily driver/family hauler/overlander plus dedicated crawler TJ. That's a direction I wish I could suggest to you but I'm considering going back lately. In any case, I'm near Sacramento. I have as much a desire to hit the trail as I do to tinker in my shop with a jeep on the lift. If there's ever an opportunity to share my shop, or a trail, with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out. RIP Pinto

Thanks for the WOT info. I just purchased the Baxter screw on filter adapter with check valve. Hoping it helps. If I let my 3.6 JK sit a day or so and I can hear the valvevtrain clatter until the oil system pressurizes. It drives me crazy. Wish I had known about the WOT deal sooner.

Hey Jason, I used the signature series 5w-20 synthetic motor oil & filter by Amsoil. What’s your thoughts on Amsoil brand?

I actually would love to try Amsoil but usually order oil on Amazon or over the counter at my local store... forgive my ignorance but what's the best way to purchase?

So sorry about your loss. I understand how losing something so special to us and what a dog or pet can do and help. I thought I would mention we have an automatic 2017 JK. I did the same think (on automatics you had the brake also) I have put on an oil filter system from “Baxter Performance”. You replace your cartridge filter with there cartridge and you use a regular type spin on on top. It has a check valve in the the piece that you attach the regular oil filter. The keeps the oil in the top. No more “dry starts” I have had the product on for about 2.5 years. Just thought I would pass that along sir. Enjoy all your videos.

Much love to you and the memory of Pinto. Fur-babies will always be missed. I still miss my first golden retriever, Bailey. If you ever need some dirt therapy, noting too extreme, mine has been too clean for too long. I am happy for you that all of the strikes are over, as well!!
Ideas....You have had the Metalcloak stuff on you jeep for years. What about maintenance to make the duro-flex joints last longer and/or replacement of them? What nuts and bolts to check regularly and what to check before a long trip? What about winch maintenance?

Hey Jedi Jason... Pinto's passing is tough for you I'm sure. I was saddened the moment you dropped the news... and could hear it in your voice how it hurts. Dogs are here for a short time and give a lot when given the chance to do so... obviously, Pinto gave you a lot! On a brighter note, I am happy you will be focusing on maintenance... for I'm in the same boat as you with the Jeep, although a 2014. It will be good to continue learning from you... as always. Keep on keeping on... from the guy who won the gloves awhile back... still use them often and tell people the story of how I got them!

Jason! Sorry to hear about Pinto. Glad I got to meet the pup when you hooked me up with the rock rails! She was a kind, happy beautiful soul! She didn't eat me! 🙂Stay strong brother!!
