    I was flying in Tampa Florida and trying to get a shot and my Mavic 3 would not fly into certain airspace around the airport. I didn’t get approval this when I very first started flying. Once I got approval I could fly in that area. So at least DJI is really good about not letting fly in Certain airspace. It will literally stop your drone.

    A huge thank you! I wanted to help my husband, an architect, take photos of his buildings. I offered to learn to fly a drone to take photos. Had no idea what was involved :) This video has been so helpful!

      Hello, thanks for the comment. Was there something specific you felt could have been different? Airspace classifications are one section a lot of our students as our course helped them understand. If you'd like to check it out, here is the link www.altitude-university.com/enroll

    Also think of Bravo AIrspace as "Blue" Bravo, blue as shown on sectionals.

    I think you overlooked the 30NM MODE C veil. This is a requirement for Manned aircraft to have a Transponder equipped with Mode C to enter this area even though it is not part of the upside down wedding cake. Do drones have to have Remote IDs in this airspace? Reason for the question is as a pilot flying light aircraft I fly into these areas under the wedding cake due to the airfield I am based at. We have had incidents with drones flying in this area with out any ID being squawked and they are hard to see and the speed difference can be immense +200mph trying to spot something the size of a football. Yes I fly drones too, but never above 100 feet and only in open areas.

    • @altitudeuniversity
      @altitudeuniversity  10 месяцев назад

      Mode C isn't specific to drones. All drones being flown commercially must have remote ID and the FAA will begin enforcing that (not sure what that means) on March 16, 2024. I hope that helps!

    Do we get the legend when doing questions regarding sectional charts? If so I dont have to memorize the different airspace configuration right?

    • @altitudeuniversity
      @altitudeuniversity  11 дней назад

      Hello, your booklet will have a legend in it when the question requires it, but you will need to know how to look at the chart and see the various level of the "upsidedown wedding cake" that make up the airspace. Check out our course if you want to really get a handle on this, it's a big part of the test. www.altitude-university.com/enroll

    class echo does NOT go to the floor unles there is a dashed circle inside the airspace. it transitions from 1200 agl in the enroute airspace to a 700 foot floor around airports with golf below

    Question: aside from some significant refresher I have completed all my requirements except for the written and check ride for my part 61. My understanding is that ppl's can take a very simple safety test on the FAA website to get their part 107. What I'm confused about is the commercial aspect. Commercial means you can be paid legally for what you do, as a Private pilot you have to have a commercial rating for this. Do you automatically get the commercial part 107 drone license when you have a non-commercial plain old private pilot's license?

    • @LawnBunny777
      @LawnBunny777 Год назад

      I think you're probably thinking about the 'very simple safety test' TRUST certificate for recreational flyers. And nope, even if you're a private pilot you still have to sit for the part 107 test.

    Wish I could confidently use this as a study guide, but I’m less than halfway through and the ‘teacher’ keeps making mistakes and contradicting himself. Really unfortunate.

      if you read the comments there's lots of misinformation too. I had to slow down the speed to understand him but once I start catching mistakes the "teacher" makes I don't continue.
