Many thanks for this great tutorial..been waiting for ages for something like this to appear...Gibbons guitar solos and tone are indeed insane..its the same on Pearl Necklace..baffling...great job Mate!
Thanks, Mick. I will eventually do the entire El Loco record as it's my favorite and there's a dearth of good videos for these songs. Make sure you see my other El Loco videos if you haven't yet. Pearl Necklace is a banger and I'll do that as the next one from that record. All the best, mate.
@@guitarraguitarraguitarra im just working out the last solo on Ten Foot Pole..its a real mystery...im finding that Gibbons never really played the solos live in concert..he just winged it for a bit then stopped...wouldnt it be great if he had stretched out in those days regarding this great track...I would love to hear him really doing the studio track justice...btw im checking your stuff..pretty neat...many thanks from Grimsby in England.
@@mickgreen-tg1zp If you need any help with the Ten Foot outro I can take a stab at it. Just seems pointless....best to just improv something. If you have any other song requests, send them over. Cheers.
Gonna try to do them more frequently going forward. Should have a video for Don't Tease Me up by the weekend, then I'll do another 2-3 from El Loco before I start on others, including the list you emailed me.
Seriously, it reminds me of some of the tones that Hubert Sumlin achieved with Howlin Wolf back in the day. But of course BFG takes it out to the stratosphere
I was just joking around about the Hoover, but I remember once reading about how he gets the tone on Cheap Sunglasses. It was complicated, but it involves a rotoscope at the head of the amp, but he has experimented with all sorts of wirings, pickups, etc@@guitarraguitarraguitarra
Love ZZ top deep cuts

For the sound of the solo, he runs it post amp through an old Hoover vacuum cleaner.

Holy mackerel. That is nuts. How did you find this out? I have searched high and low. Thanks for the great comments.

This is awesome mate! Cheers for these deeper cuts. Any chance of a lesson for 'shes just killing me'? Great stuff
Hey man, thanks a mil. I will add your suggestion to my list.
@@guitarraguitarraguitarra Cheers very much. And thanks for this lesson!
