Cobra 200 GTL DX Repair Part 3

This is the first CB radio I have repaired on RUclips and has to be one of the worst condition radios I have ever attempted to sort out but I do love a challenge. In this video I manage to repair some of the damage, sortout the RX DC switching issues and go though how some aspects of how the radio works. Hi George yep she’s certainly coming along and I am feeling a lot more confidant. I need to track down some of the parts and it could be a while before they get here as I’m looking for equivalents for the KEC switching transistor as I can’t find any UK suppliers as they only seem to be available in Asia. The 2SC2078 I have now ordered but not sure when it will arrive.

Wow. Looks more like an episode of Miss Marple with all the detective work of what is going on right down to the transistor with internal resistors and the redulting partial switching of tx and rx. A lot of effort and brain power going into that rig.

Thanks for the comment, Yep it been a difficult repair and diagnosing the faults has been the hardest part.
