This is why I say I'm a trash gamer. People like this who make guides for near-impossible game level designs are truly something else. The epitome of "not all heroes wear capes". I'm more than a casual gamer, but my gods, I'm no where close to being this type of impressive. As a trophy hunter, I'm dreading doing this, because I really don't want to. 😭 "Bypass 8 chapters" my ass; this is more like 20 chapters squished into one and even with the guide I know I'm going to die a bunch. Thank you all the same for the guide, though. Also big shout out to anyone coming late to this game (woo for 2022!) and good luck.~
Future me coming back after attempting this, and be proud of me, guys. :3 I did this without headphones and only referenced the guide once, right before the guns because that last of the three mini sawblades was giving me trouble. But beyond that, I did this pretty much on my own. Gonna be honest, it's not all that difficult. It's just intimidating and takes trial-and-error, but once you figure out the puzzle and what to do, it's not so bad. It's mostly relying on muscle memory; remembering when and where to jump or climb. Like, I can actually see why the 5 deaths or less run is considered harder and not as many people have the trophy for it. Because this isn't as long-winded as the full game, has checkpoints like any other level, and you can die as many times as you want and still get the acheivement. In many ways, I loved doing this more because it was new content. I have such a mental block replaying games, especially short, repetitive ones, to do trophy cleanup because my mind can't stay focused as much as the first time through. I wouldn't exactly call it boredom, but for extremely challenging stuff (such as not dying or timers), I end up hating the extra replay value, as it tends to suck the fun out of it and add stress. So maybe a lot of people will view this level and trophy as a pain in the butt to get through, but for me it's more forgiving, exciting, and fun than going through the same game all over again, just this time I have to be flawless. Even as a trophy hunter and completionist, I really loathe getting 100% on trophy lists like this because it only appeals to the hard core fans that would already be going out of their way to join the speed-run community. Sorry for the complaining, it just annoys me that there's trophies practically inaccessible to the more casual player base. I'm usually caught in-between worlds, as I love trophy hunting and completing games when they're good enough to deserve the time and effort, but ridiculous achievements that require the player to be perfect puts me in a position that, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of gaming. It's no longer doing it for enjoyment, but putting it on that "professional" esports level where it feels more like a job than a game. And it's not always that I can't do it, I just don't want to. This is the equivalent of instead of just mopping your floors, you have to get on your hands and knees and scrub it that way, with undiluted bleach. It's just a painfully slow process, and I'd rather be spending my time playing any other game, not the same 3-ish hour experience that doesn't change except for how well you perform in one setting. And I suppose some people will roll their eyes and go, "just don't play it then, it's not that deep", except I *want* to 100% it and have all the trophies. My gripe is just that the game devs shouldn't have made an achievement like that, and it's as valid as any other critique on a video game. Because trust me, this "execute the platforming near-perfect" crap also gets on my nerves for how floaty the controls are. I find myself dying in stupid areas just because the jump button didn't seem to register. MY reaction time was perfect, it's the game mechanics and the way movement works in the game that's actively working against me. Anywho, I've ranted long enough. Extra good luck to all you lovely people out there. I'm personally thinking of starting a service to help more casual players get difficult trophies like this; if you're reading this, let me know if that's something you'd be interested in or have any feedback on the idea. Or heck, if you want to talk/vent about Limbo, it's levels, or relate to the struggles of a completionist, feel free to reply. I'd like to end this with it may sound like I'm irritated and not loving Limbo, but I'm frustrated, especially with the trophy topic, BECAUSE of how much I love games like this and it's a real shame to me that my experience with it was ruined in part by something so arbitrary and silly. That's all. Happy gaming.~~
This shit is hard AF man! There are several sections where I instinctively knew what to do after beating the main game, but it’s still tough. The final moving saws in the dark are tough.
Thank you for making this. The text really helped as I looked at some other guides but couldn't tell what they were doing so writing out what was going on made it so I could finally beat this level. Awesome work, thank you so much
Nice video. Best level in the game in my opinion. I had big problems with the last unseen moving saw, I think only luck and persistance got me past it as it seems to require a different timed jump to the prior unseen moving saw. Got all the trophies now except the complete in one sitting with 5 or less deaths - impossible!
Hey man thank you so much for this guide my friend and I are trying to see who can get the most trophies in a month and this helped me so much this was the best guide I found by far!
Wa! This level just made Limbo even higher on my all time favourite games! Followed the steps frame by frame. Lots of satisfaction after completing it! Confirmed that this secret is present on Android as well and is identical to the mm!
Thanks for the guide, man! And yeah, like what everyone else said If we can do a level in complete fucking darkness, then beating the game with only dying a few times can't be that bad. haha
This level is a total disrespect for hearing-impaired people. I am deaf. How the heck am I supposed to complete this sound-based level to get my last achievement???
I just wanted to know where the entrance was. The level really wasn't too hard if you just use some headphones and focus. Because you're in the dark completely, they give you a lot of leeway. PS: You don't even need good headphones. I'm using 10 dollar skullcandy cheapos. All you really need is Stereo sound cause it's a 2D game.
The guide's made it super easy but I turned down my audio at the saw part halfway in out of panic, so now I have no idea exactly when I'm by the quicker saw, whoops!!
Damn guy will not drop to the right side of the moving platform with the two blades.. time index 3:22..... no matter what i do.. tried it like 30 times...any suggestions??
I'm stuck at that part. I can't make the jump from the moving platform to the other. The video shows little to no gap. Mine in the game is huge. And this guy sucks at jumping.
2024 finding this guide, impressive and helpful!
Amazing guide, went through this level like a breeze with your guide. The controller would've been out the window without it! Thanks man!
That part with the machine guns scared the hell out of me. I ended up doing this whole thing by myself. It was quite a stressful experience!
Fuck this level was difficult. I might go for the 'complete the game with
Did you do it? It's the last one I need.
This level was a piece of cake BECAUSE OF THIS GUIDE! I'd be screaming trying to figure it all out, great guide :)
Time goes on, this guide remains brilliant and very helpful. Thank you man!
Great walk-through. Easy to follow and loved the text.
