  • New F1 2024 Rules REVEALED that will change everything!
Excitement is building for the 2024 Formula 1 season, but hold onto your seats because the FIA just dropped some game-changing rules! They've thrown in some curveballs with more than 70 days left before the Bahrain pre-season testing. Teams can't test current cars, but there's a
twist. What are these significant changes? Let's dive into this video today to get the lowdown on the new F1 rules that'll flip the script.
The 2023 Formula 1 season in Abu Dhabi has finished, and now people are looking forward to the beginning of the 2024 season. Max Verstappen and Red Bull did really well this year, but McLaren and Ferrari improved their cars towards the end.
In 2024, Alfa Romeo is going to change its name because their current sponsorship will end. They will become the Sauber team in 2024 and later turn into the Audi team in 2026. Red Bull's junior team, AlphaTauri, will also change its name in 2024.
They want to go back to a name without a brand, like they used to be called Toro Rosso. There are rumors that they might be called Racing Bulls.
Even though there aren't many big changes for 2024, there will be a new record with 24 races, making it the biggest year ever for the championship.

This is the FIA’s doing. F1 is a potential target for bad publicity and attacks from environmental groups, so I would make a bet that the words “sustainable and eco” are ploys to keep F1 as worldwide entertainment in the forefront. Mind you these are words, and we the fans don’t have access to the math and statistics that make those words viable. I imagine/am guessing these words are not A: as environmentally beneficial as are claimed and B: are not really impacting overall performance of the cars negatively. If someone did the math and accounting that factored in the actual racing and the transportation of 20 teams with all that equipment worldwide the numbers for money and environmental impact would be staggering. Everything has a cost, the FIA is trying to keep the watchdogs at bay so they can grow the sport. I really don’t like many of the things the FIA does but the first priority is to protect and magnify the brand of F1 against all dangers. Hence, eco racing. As a footnote, once battery tech reaches its peak, fuel racing will go back to the dinosaurs because no one will be able to keep up with the torque and power of electric engines.

Winning driver gets 2 points all others who complete the race gets 1 point each.
The teams get awarded the normal race points usually awarded to drivers for the positions of their cars - this makes it a race for teams involving new tactics/strategies. What an opportunity for new/reserve drivers to show their potential worth, (an F1 introducing)!

I think the sprint races should not add points to the GP world championship , but should be a stand alone contest. 8 races and each team driver races in four events. The other driver at each race should be the reserve driver doing all 8 events. Then it’s up to the team drivers to support the development driver since he/she would have twice as many chances to do well.

I do not follow any other auto racing and assume their governing bodies are just as strict. Maybe someone here can let me know? It's fascinating how complex and reaching rules are. I know this video only touches on a mere fraction of some of the "new" rules and now my mind is thirsty to learn more. Thanks for the info.

    • @tolkas42
      @tolkas42 5 месяцев назад

F1 is strict on regulations because unlike stock and indycar in the US who have completely standardized cars, each team is expected to have their own overall design and development. They need to implement strict rules for specific scenarios to try and make it competitive. which outside of redbull right now, it has been. Also unlike the US, people seem to care about cars and teams that don't win races, but have mid pack drama every week. They keep changing/modifying rules because teams find ways to exploit loopholes to gain an advantage. additionally, they need to keep up appearances they care about global issues like being green and technology to support it, so you see rule changes reflecting that. If you haven't followed racing in the past i suggest you check out videos/articles on famous racing cheats. the ingenious ways these guys have found ways to make their cars go faster that people either don't catch or are a rules technicality are super impressive.

These cars no longer push any speed barriers. Performance envelopes.
Every aspect of competition is atleast 50% contrivance.
So, ditch all the technology. Ditch most of the aero.
Make every car have to run a 6 speed 3 pedal manual gearbox.
    Mechanically fuel injected 3.0 liter all mechanical engines. V8's, V12's, V10's, V6's, I4's, V4's, I5's, flat configuration, W configuration.
    Rev limits are 18,000.
    No traction control.
    No ABS.
    No stability controls.
All cars have a fixed unchangeable total aero load limit.
Cars will have a large aero hole behind them. A slipstream.
Cars will be able to follow through corners closely.
Modern metallurgy will make engines much more reliable.
There will be no push to pass.
No active suspension. No active anything.
There will be no park ferme conditions trying to control qualifying.
There will be no noise restrictors on engines.
Neighborhoods have no legal say at all.
You can move away from the race track.......
    Or go screw yourself!
    Is that clear?
There will be no guest stewards making race decisions.
The FIA will be hand cuffed to the letter of the rules.
Any attempts to wiggle or politic, means all FIA suits are immediately fired and banned from any racetrack on Earth forever, including said persons entire blood family.
Racing will be about competition, not entertainment.
No, there will be no forced passing tricks. No mechanisms to create more passing.
The driver's will drive to passing attempts.
Those will be the only kinds of passing. If that's not exciting enough, too bad!
    Driver's must earn every position.
By the way. ^ This is all pointless. It will not happen. Hence why motorsport is dying.
There are less motorsport fans every year.
The young ones are growing up less and less interested.
And the current fans are all old, busted, and dying.
    But argue away.
    No one cares.
This is why they don't reveal actual numbers anymore. Viewer numbers. Fans in stands numbers.
Merchandise, ad dollars. All hidden behind deception.
Because all the numbers are down.
    Terminally down.
Just like sports, film, games, and everything else.

If one team wins every race it's not surprising that things have to change I've seen it in other sports including Formula 1 it's not ideal but if I see a Red Bull white wash I just don't see myself watching Formula 1 how slow must Perez actually be maybe they should have Christian Horner in the car next year😮

So the Alfa team is changing it's name in 2024 then changing to Audi??? So it not an Alfa team then.. Wouldn't it be easier to say Alfa will leave at the end of 2024 or whenever??

Alfa Romeo won't change into Sauber. The name will change to Stake F1 team (wasn't confirmed when this video was uploaded I think). But Toro Rosso litterally means Red Bull in Italian. That't not a name without a brand like the video claims it is. Thought that was common knowledge.

Sounds complicated, keep it simple (KIS) principle. FP1, FP2, Q1, maybe Q2, Results for Sprint and Main race As for the rules thats another story, however still to complicated and does not enhance Vehicle and driver development let alone racing as we knew it, added to the cost implications.

F1 would be much more entertaining if they had to refuel and didnt change the cars every year. more teams could have a chance to win as of now only one or two teams even have a stones chance to ever win or compete

There are just too many rules in F1. And they create more rules and more complexity every year to try to improve the rules that didn't work or were exploited. Is F1 better than in the 1970's, 1980's or 1990's etc? No ,I do not think so, except for the safety aspects. Simpliy and add lightness as Colin Chapman used to say would be well applied to the F1 rule book.
