there IS no better cover of Thriller... In my humble oppinion, this the cover to end all covers! This is the greatest cover of all time... in the history of the world... Universe... Ever..!... Period.
YAY you reacted to DL again!!! :D Please keep on doing it! :D "Next To You" and "Follow the light (ft. Cory Wong)" are my two faves! both Originals :D think you'll love them to!
Absolutely loved your reaction. Everything, comments, staging, video, audio quality just top notch. How good to you have to be to take one of the most iconic, beloved pop songs of all time and not only do the original proud but also make the song yours. This is how you cover a classic! Great reaction with super energy. Thanks!
Blow your (and my) mind… DL is recording in Sweden, Wong and horns in US! You’ll note there is a space in the middle that is not breached by Wong or Henrik!
BEST bass sound ever !!!! Jazz fusion take on a classic...of course ! Kudos to the desk not putting the bass at the back like most of them do.... as if you could put Henrik in the corner hahaha.....Cheers guys - awesome pick !!
Well, that's a Dirty Loops cover for you. :D You need to check out their older covers of various songs as well, because they're all (at least in my opinion) miles above the originals. They are ridiculously brilliant. (Yes, I realise I sound like a complete fangirl, but they're so insanely competent that, as a fellow musician, how can I not?)
Dirty Loops set the bar for perfection. Add Cory Wong from Vulfpeck, and you're on FIRE !!!! This 6:30 is on par with the Jaco Live "The Birthday Concert" and the song "Three Views of a Secret".
This is masterclass cover w/ the best/of the best imo, (even Quincy Jones gave his approval)! The bass slapin, drums insane, voice .. tf all of it! FIRRRRE including ur🔥 reaction! I love you both so much, Ya just know what ya know & that’s great music!
Jonah and Aron....seriously ridiculous talents.... I always watch any tracks these guys release like four times so that I can listen to all the individual parts... Jonah's vocals are soooo good... and Aron ...well one of the technically best drummers on the planet for sure.... outstanding....
And Henrik? Started playing the piano at age 4, and switched to the bass, because a girl that he liked said, that the bass is the sexiest instrument. :-)
Love seing your enthusiastic reaction! 😃 Yes, this cover makes you happy! Ps. I read the band info. They are now with Quincy Jones mgmt. Also I read somewhere that it is recorded and filmed in two places. DL in Sweden, Cory Wong and the brass in USA.
"MJ meets Stevie Wonder "is the best description ive heard of this cover. Jonah is a phenomenal vocalist, and equally a monster on keys. All of them are highly educated musicians and it shows in their songs.. love me some DL
Okay...so...two things I read in other's comment sections on this: A - It's split screen w/ Cory and horns on one side and Dirty on the other, filmed separately. B - that Quincy Jones was somehow involved in its production. If either of those things are true (or both) then it just raises the bar on what they did. On its' stand-alone merits, it's incredible.

That bridge is almost identical to the one in Pat Metheny’s “Secret Story,” especially from their live performance in New Brunswick. You should definitely check it out. It’s uncanny!
This is an *excellent* cover of Thriller, without a doubt. I'm not at all against people doing covers, whatsoever, and if anything, I appreciate seeing fellow creatives take something great on its own and not necessarily make it “better,” per se, but add their very own touch of uniqueness and creative energy to it. However, lol, there are certain songs, and particularly ones from a select group of specific artists *[Michael being one of those artists]* that are profoundly cemented into music history, and whenever one decides to do a cover of one of those songs, they are taking a major gamble; it has to be done just right, for it can be so easy to not only lose the magic and essence of a song, whether by doing too much or doing too little, and that's the vaguest way of putting it lol, but it can also end up where the person covering the song is trying way too hard to mirror/copy the original artist “to a T,” so to speak, and end up sounding either and for lack of a better word, “corny” and sometimes teetering into a bit “disrespectful,” and I use the word “disrespectful” loosely, but I think most people will understand what I mean, lol. It's funny that one of you said “it’s like MJ meets Stevie Wonder” because this arrangement, especially the bass, as soon as I heard it, reminded me of a mashup between Thriller and Higher Ground, lol. Chef’sKiss worthy, no doubt.
We agree with you 100% definitely gotta be careful when doing covers for classics like this one for sure. You've got to do it justice if you're going to attempt it. Which we feel this one definitely did. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching ❤
Not sure where else to put this, but Sokoninaru has a new video called "Brilliant City" out, and I always think of them when I think of DL -- probably because both are great at bending and mixing genres in order to create unique songs. Though, ramble aside, hope you guys get a chance to review it because I'd be very glad to see your take.
Hey, hit me with some likes if you think the lads should do a catalogue run of Dirty Loops; Rock You, Work Shit Out, Next To You, Follow The Light etc Love your reactions guys. Liked and subbed, notes on ❤️🔥
@@dicodec "Next to you", any of their covers, like "Circus" - they´re all amazing - the side projects like "Bitten by the kitten", "Old Armando had a farm", "Coffee Break", "Coffee break is over", Vocalist Jonah´s "Diamond Ring" featuring Steve Vai.. A treasure trove, just dig in and enjoy!
@@dicodec ...aand just to finish this rant, watching others discover them is second best to discovering them yourself for the first time - Music for those who know to appreciate it, perhaps not for the masses

@@milesdust3465 My initial comment was all about Henrik... I added the others after :)
@@JoSedunary I’m sorry that I missed that somehow.
@@milesdust3465 No worries - I come from a family of bassists so I'm a tad biased :)

Quincy Jones is the Dirty Loops producer! And yes, they werer both filmed separately. Dirty Loops in Sweden, Corry+Horns in USA.
Aron's DW Snare Drum is the sound of perfection.
Incroyable,j'ai des frissons sur tout le corps.
