I'm so glad to find this here - and no muddying "enhancement". My family had this record, plus the other one. Who says the 50s were dull! Creativity and zaniness has always existed.

Lehrer himself said that hardly anyone bought the stereo version of this album because record buyers figured out that you really don't need a lot of stereo separation for a recording of one guy accompanying himself on piano. By the way, this was recorded at RCA studios in New York. Lehrer had gone" big time" by then.
Extremely relevant now. Btw, many of his songs are translated to Swedish and Spanish. I love both the English and Swedish versions of We Will All Go Together When We Go. It's almost completely impossible to translate a poem or song 100% literal, but the translation is still very good. In Swedish the song ends: "We'll go in a row, two and two, Ev'ry Jew, Hottentot, And Eskimo. When we're reeking of uranium, Cranium glances at cranium... Yes, together we will go, yes together we will go, Yes together we will go in the end." ruclips.net/video/jRKLX90ztdo/видео.html ☢🚀💥💀
Great stuff! But this is essentially the same songs as on "An evening wasted with Tom Lehrer", which has some witty chats to the audience. Check it out. His best is "Life is like a sewer; what you get out of it depends on what you put into it"! Perfection
"But this is essentially the same songs as on "An evening wasted with Tom Lehrer" Which came first? The chicken or this record? ...let that one sink in.

He is just as much a genius on the piano as with his voice. I love him and his talents.
Sheer quality; both musical, intellectual, linguistical, and humorous! Great entertainer! 😀
A real genius. Every cut on this album is a winner.
So are the ones not on this album. Everything he touches turns to pure gold.
Mexican song prescient of Lyin' Ted Cancún Cruz
6:10 wow I'd never heard of "The Elements" -- I wonder how much the writers for The Animaniacs regretted that idea already being taken.
Or maybe they did a parody in the form of countries?
What writers?
Well they did do "every word in the English dictionary" -Sung by Yako Warner

Happy Birthday, Tom Lehrer
...I have the originals of both this and "Songs by Tom Lehrer".
I'd like to see a rapper keep up with "the Elements".
(Is that a bum note at 17:04?)
Thanks for putting up the stereo!
It's an accidental! Probably done intentionally in true Gilbert and Sullivan fashion!
joy, utter joy
60 years ago. That scares me.
Yet... still relevant.

mchlbk - yup ☺️
Piano is my favorite instrument!
And he sure knows how to tickle those keys.
Tom Lehrer sang of the joys of the murderous ruing elite. Only humor can cut through that obscenity
thank you so much...
You are very welcome! Enjoy!

That's Hen3ry's quote, though...:P
