The 2000 Olympics volleyball was at Bondi and there's no limestone cliffs it's 'Sydney sandstone' which stretches from the Central Coast down to the Illawarra and out to the Blue Mountains. Most of the old buildings in Sydney are sandstone.
9:21 Surry Hills is in Sydney and Surrey Hills is in Victoria And I wouldn't call The Rocks "up and coming" It was the original settlement and is the oldest part of the colony.
Captain Cook sailed right past Sydney Harbour without seeing it and landed at Botany Bay. Not such a great navigator after all. And it’s Manly not Manley. But none the less glad you loved my home town.
Hi well spotted it was a joke with a bit of artistic license but thanks for the comment Of course it was his brother Thomas cook who set up the first package holidays there
You must like the lower case "e" as you have placed it into in Surry Hills - not Surrey as you have it, but Surry. Then in the Blue Mountains, you talk of the 3 daughters due to marry 3 men from a far-off "village". - no villages amongst the First Peoples - they had regular places where they would stop, but no villages. It's Govetts Leap with a double t and no apostrophe - you'd think there'd be one, but there hasn't been since I first went there over 70 years ago and almost certainly before. Sorry if I seem picky, but others watching may not know the errors and be misled. You're certainly right about the Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens. They are absolutely stunning gardens and the view can't be beaten. The food's not half bad either - pricy but worth it.
At about the 2.05 mark, you refer to Manley Harbour - it's North Harbour at Manly. A bit later, you have it as Manley Beach! Not sure how the "e" creeps in , but it's never been there. The name goes back to the very early days of the colony. The governor took a boat trip to explore the area and was very impressed by the stature of the men living there, especially one whom he named Manly from his strength.
Hi there, Just discovered your channel. If I may be so bold to give you advice, you need to reduce the background music level by 50% so we can hear you speaking over the top of it clearly. In all other respects I think your filming and research of an area you are visiting is top notch! Well done.
Thanks for the feedback Really helpful We are toning it down more now Hopefully videos will get better as we learn more Please keep looking though And subscribe it encourages us to improve Take care G&S
Actually nope... Captain Cook never even went into Sydney Harbour! 🤦♀ In 1770, Captain Cook went to Botany Bay, about 20kms south of Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson). It was Captain Phillip who later on, when he arrived in Botany Bay in 1788 (as recommended by Sir Joseph Banks) determined it was too crap (poor soil, no reliable fresh water and nowhere deep enough to anchor) decided to explore a little further north up the coast and went into Port Jackson and decided that's where the penal colony should go. :)

James Cook did not sail into Sydney Harbour. He did not know it existed. Cook had been dead for 10 years when the First Fleet arrived in 1788.

Glad you enjoyed our little part of the world. BTW, it's spelt 'Manly', not "Manley". :)
