Nice. We saw a very reasonably priced 2 week holiday in this town advertised recently in a local travel agent. We should have booked it!

There is no such place as lapta. That is a name used by the invaders and illegal settlers for LAPITHOS because they can’t pronounce the real name.

We've visited Belapais I think three times over the years (and I visited with my parents, brother and sisters in the 60s long before those visits), and I remember one year it was my birthday and we had a table in a restaurant within the abbey which included a balcony with one table for two which had a great view. That was our table for the night! A special place and well done with the video.

You certain did walk past Laurence Durrell's house. Its on the left-hand side of a cross roads on the street that leads directly up the hill from the Tree of Idleness. There's a small plaque but nothing else to see.

We always visit the Old Mil Cafe when visiting Bellapais (closed on certain days, Mondays if I recall correctly).

An enjoyable watch - Girne seems to have grown since we were there about 15 years ago I think it probably was. It's perhaps the prettiest and most historic place in Northern Cyprus. I was surprised that it wasn't very busy, but maybe that was because of the heat ...or the early hour?

Another excellent video and, once again, the mix of still and video sequences works well. Haven't been to Girne for a couple of years because of the harbour work but looking forward to returning in October and will look up the restaurants you featured.

I've visited Girne and hope to visit Lapta one day. I've heard Silver Rocks, the Aerea bar & Driftwood are all good places to go. Very nice scenery and the food looks good too. Maybe you'll consider doing a programme on venues, cafes in the area too? Lastly I agree with the previous commenter about the music- but the rest of the video was very good. You certainly looked like you were enjoying the salmon and scrambled eggs

Enjoying your videos, do you live in TRNC? We’ve had a holiday home in Esentepe since 2006. Are you planning on going east of Girne? Lots to see and do there too. PS only minor criticism is the background music is quite distracting and drowns out your narration a little.

Visited Lapta several times but never really found my bearings amongst the zig-zag of roads without any obvious centre.

Another interesting and well-produced video but, as an infrequent visitor to Northern Cyprus, I've no idea where you were (a simple map really would help). Looking forward to your next video.

Very interesting as always but a simple map would have helped. Good road maps of Northern Cyprus seem hard to come by. The free version issued by tourist offices is very limited in detail. For years, I've relied on the excellent map published by Greek Cypriot publisher SELAS (available in the south or via its on-line shop) but its weak point is its exclusive use of Greek place names - no good for going off the beaten track.

Interesting, and I hope to visit myself one day soon.

Stayed at the Gillham Vineyard Hotel, lovely place, and used the two restaurants in the village. Great place for an 'off the beaten track' holiday.

Like you Graham, I lived in Cyprus as a child and I remember visiting Nicosia often and that it was always very hot! I've been back in more recent years once on business and twice on holiday, but not in the last 10 years or so, so it was interesting to see how it looks now, and there were places in this video that I never saw. Thanks!
