They claim their church doesn't save them but no questioning allowed. I am accused of becoming more antagonistic (rightly so) as I peal back each layer of deception that I once believed. 😢
I am also sad that my wonderful parents were tricked by sda false doctrines. Both have passed away. It took me years to get the sda brainwashing ideas out of my mind. I am now a born-again Christian. However, I also hate denominations and rarely attend church.
This was a good one. Love the detailed, thorough search into the issue of where Christ went at his death on the cross, and comparing it to Romans, Revelation and the Gospels. The mis-interpretation is due to forcing a worldview onto the text.
Getting scripture out of context can mean something else; I just want to know if either Christ or Lazarus has mentions of visiting hell in their spirits at their death. Provide text from the NT not outside.

What do you think about conservative Adventism vs progressive adventism ?? Because at my church they have always said Jesus was fully God and man while on earth They also say people of many denominations can be saved. And many of EGWs views are disagreed with. I’m realizing my church is more progressive rather than conservative Adventist (in terms of beliefs on adventist ideology)

Stating, for example, that people don’t need to come out from their current church and join the SDA church or they won’t be ready for the “soon return of Jesus” goes wholly against the entire identity of the SDA movement as the remnant with a last day, special prophetic message that only they have as Gods “last day church.” But I’m fully aware of it as I grew up in both “conservative” and “progressive” Adventist circles. We call “progressive adventism,” Neo-Adventism around here.
@ based on the scripture I’ve been reading recently, i feel like I’ve seen the real gospel message at my church preached compared to some other Adventist churches I’ve visited over the past few years. From what i have seen, there’s Adventists that are more Christians and then there’s Adventists who are more like EGW followers

I would stick to the mainline errors, annihilation, soul sleep, legalism. Sometimes it really comes across as nitpicking finer details that are either hard to discern or are not essential. Plus you are not well informed on the Trinity and Christology and don't seem to realize even among Calvinists there is serious dispute. Some criticisms are just like "I'm going to take the most uncharitable interpretation period, even when it's not exactly clear," and that comes across very dishonest. This from someone who rejects and debates against SDA.
