@@LoneStarDrift definitely respect your opinion. They weigh roughly the same as a mustang gt so thats why i mentioned it both are in that 3700 range with 1les being a bit lighter, better suspensions better rear gear and such. I might have to try one once i get my other projects done haha
I think the G35/37 sedan deserves to be on that list. More comfortable than a Z and more exciting because sedans are cool. Do some OEM+ styling and run it.
I’ve got a V35 sedan for that exact reason. Same drivetrain as a Z but has a bit more character. Plus you can fit 8 wheels and all your tools in it, and still have a free passenger seat
@@eriksiddons4730 i never see M shoes out driving around. Maybe there will be one at a car show or I see them listed in club groups. But yeah, that's a super cool car that they didn't make many of and you rarely see involved with motorsports. Most are garage queens or someone in the city might drive it to the office parking garage. They certainly are a treat to see getting drifted.
I would argue that the fix ability of a jzx is more like a 5 only because all the front suspension you can use IS300 stuff and the motor you can get away with using usdm JZ parts and if it’s a w58 trans car that wouldn’t be to hard to get either the diff as well cause you can use an is300 diff now the rear suspension and body panels are a bit funky that’s why I only gave it a 5 maybe a 6
Apparently it's getting a manual from the factory pretty soon as an answer to the new Z I agree tho, it really strikes that balance of power and reliability
In my opinion,, what is important to a driver is the order of importance in reverse order except for reliability would still be first. - cheap car that is easy to work on. - tire availability so you can drive if your car is up to the task. - exciting so your friends are drawn to join you and the driver has a blast even with little seat time. - and so on
I would say excitement for a miata is pretty variable, if its a 16 year old in a stock 1.6 open diff that understeers its a 0. But, if you see a miata on someones door, you think holy shit that miata can actually drift! It just rarely happens that they have good drivers behind the wheel.
funny about the JZX100 and BMW size comparison. Aaeron you have had a SC300 and that car everybody is like "that is huge" but if you park it next to a E36 the length between the axles are almost the same XD
The SC300 is about 300+ pounds heavier than an E36, but feels way heavier than that for some reason. The E36 feels much smaller than an SC300 too. As someone that has had a drift week SC300 with a JZ, I wouldn't suggest them for anyone. To get one into drift week shape and have a JZ in it, and an angle kit, it would cost way more than an E36 m3. The SC300 is a deceptively expensive chassis once you factor in the front control arm prices and ball joints, along with JZ parts and the R154. I didn't love my SC300 either, I'm not sure why, it just didn't get me excited to drift it.
@@LoneStarDrift funny how in europe a soarer with 1jzgte is cheaper than an e36 m3. I have had my "sc300" for 7 years, and will recommend it to everyone. car is a tank and never brakes and there is a ton of parts for it as it shares chassis with supra mk4
Im glad that the s197 platform was mentioned in this. They are tanks and with the FDF kit on the front it transforms the steering. Stock they are garbage.

Y’all forgot to rate cost. You don’t see many Frs/brz out cuz they’re still expensive on the used market. If you could get 2013-15 for like $7500-10k with 80-150k on them. Used motors are as much as used sr20s. I’ve thought many times about buying blown up auto 2013s, swapping a manual and low mileage used motor in it, But you’d have at least $10k in the car and just doing that. Sucks cuz every other market is flooded with them.
Did @Lone Star Drift seriously delete my comment for explaining my experience with my G35? I have been a fan of LSD for years, but deleting my comment for calling out your driver/dude who scammed me? When I called out a local shop on your "drift shop" video, I get a hundred upvotes and multiple replies. But call out a TSL driver and I get my comment deleted? WTF is that? That is pretty sheisty. I have the right to post a warning to people, about a Texas street legal driver scamming me on a car with damage... Especially when your channel has done 2 features with said driver....
Buyer beware. Last years TSL winner scammed me on a G35 sedan. Talking about you J.W. I flew down to Texas from Wisconsin to look at the car. Before I went to check out the car, the previous owner reset the ECU, so the car showed no codes. After a test drive and not being able to identify any issues. I paid for the car, then 5 minutes later, it wouldn't start. And when it did, it had multiple misfires. The car literally couldn't even leave dudes driveway without having issues. I asked the (now) previous owner when the last time he reset the ECU was and what codes it was throwing. He said he didn't reset the ECU and the car never showed any codes... *riiiiggghhhhtt* After doing the pedal dance and not getting any codes. I told the previous owner "I can go back to the airport, the car doesn't run right. And I do not want the car in this condition, I was told this is a turn key daily when I messaged you originally. I have to drive it 2000 miles home, and if it is already having issues, I honestly don't want the car." He says the sale is done and was done as is. I never got out of his driveway before having issues.... 4 hours and 200 miles into the trip, the car is in limp mode, threw 8 codes and one code says ECU is damaged. I called the previous owner and he said to "reset the ECU, that will 'fix it"... Resetting the ECU doesn't get rid of any problems.... We all know this. The car needed MAF's, cam angle sensors, a fuel damper, the OEM cats were blown out, and lastly a crankshaft sensor. Not to mention, when I pulled the trans to replace the blown out CSC. Every single bolt on the clutch pressure plate was finger tight. Thats sketchy and fucking hazardous. I'm pretty sure the head gasket is blown internally as well. Since the car pushes out coolant and overheated whenever it was driven hard. I have not even owned the car for a year yet, and it has been down for over 3 months.... I bought this car to be a daily and got fucked by the previous owner. If the issues would have started the next day, sure it is my fault or you can claim he *didn't know* about the issues. But when I couldn't leave dudes house without issues, I dont think thats on me... But yea, delete my comment for putting out a buyer beware because it involves one of your top drivers. Thats pretty sad... If the reason is for calling him out by name, why not reply and ask me to edit it instead of deleting my comment? I've seen plenty of people get called out in your comments before no issues. So why was it an issue now?
This also does not include the previous owner lying about knowledge of crash history on the car. (This is illegal in Wisconsin, idk about Texas) I ran a carfax on the car and it stated the rear end had been fully replaced. When I asked the owner about it he said he had *no idea* Yet after buying the car, there was a Carfax folded up in the glovebox that had the damage reported on it. I bought the car in May 2021, date on the carfax you ask? 2019.... but yea, he *didn't know*

I’ve been drifting my 2015 Mustang Ecoboost for 3 years now and I’ve been loving it. The turbo 4 has more character than the v8 imo which helps the “soulless” issue and the lower power helps tire wear aswell.
They mentioned something about the steering on them in the video. You ever had any issues with yours?? I'm looking to get into a 2017ish GT as a new drift car
@@jakedaniel6238 they have electric power steering which can be bit vague but I’ve never had a problem with it. I’ve no issues with self centering or anything like that. Like any chassis you learn to adjust your driving style.
@@edpudvah5159 no worries good to know. I knew about the electric steering just wasn't sure if there was any other issues. Unfortunately in Australia s550 platform is not common for drifting
Have any videos!?
1JZ swapped Cressida best drift week car. May be slightly biased because I just did the whole trip in mine 😂😂
Yo this is hilarious lmao 🤣 Aaron doesn't realize but he does "podcasts" on the go at tracks with participants fresh off the event.
Why don't you ever see Camaros like 1999 and up as drift cars.... They come with atleast a LS1 ? Is it the suspension?
Second this cause I love fbodys
Probably because there's no angle kit yet and probably because they're too expensive. Between those and the WS6 people want way too much money for them. Could probably buy a V6 one and ls swap it for less lol
@@LOVE-VIBES-X-PROJECT-CARS they can be had for dirt cheap around here. Even the ws6 can be. And parts aren't anymore expensive then a newer mustang. I don't ever even see the newer Camaros like 2010 and up ones when they re released them. I've found them for less than you would pay for just a LS engine.
And if I can find a angle kit for my Audi they are alot easier to make for the Camaro then my Audi. But I'm asking from drifters who do this daily why they don't consider them. A 240 and basically all these cars I see on drift week cost more than a Camaro with a big LS engine in it
@@JuanBrolo you're gonna have to show me a cheap manual V8 ws6 because I've never seen one below 15k.
I'd have to guess because while they would be interesting from a spectators pov idk if they're that exciting from a drivers pov maybe 🤔 idk.
Probably because they always get cannibalized for LS swap builds
I want to see an E60 M5 run a drift week
S chassis e36/46 350z Miata
Its fun how you dont see any supras drifting in USA or is it just me? In Scandinavia they are super popular?
Prices are through the roof on MK4 and MK5 is same issues as new BMW's with the electronics
Aaron stop interupting him, now I will never know why germans are smart people 😆
Again here we go with subjective videos . What’s the best this whats the best that . The best car , motor , suspension , tires etc is whatever machine feels better to a person is all that matters . There skill level and there budget for the machine of there choice ....
Look at the Gatebil e60 drift taxis!
Love these debates but I think the amount of work people put into the drift week cars you could make a gt86 work for the trip just a
Turbo kit and angle mods would make a ripper with some small ish tyres
Obviously slightly bias though haha
Can someone tell me what kinda corvette jacket that is? im tryna buy that exact one is it super rare or something
What about a ss camaro with an angle kit…already has the ls3. No torque tube more room cheaper to fix . I know they arent a widely used option but there is a guy near me driving his to OSW to drift events and then drives it home
They are really heavy which is hard on tires, and they aren’t popular with manuals I would assume. They are invisible to me on the road so I don’t know how many of them are out there
@@LoneStarDrift definitely respect your opinion.
My G35 sedan was a blast to drive.
E60 M5 for the win 🥇. Please do it Wout
I would choose e36 or e46 touring
Z3 M coupe is a dream car. Very exciting. Very rare, very odd to see one, especially drifting.
Very rare!?!?!?!?! Very odd to see!?!?!?!?! Very exciting!?!?!?!? U trippin
I would argue that the fix ability of a jzx is more like a 5 only because all the front suspension you can use IS300 stuff and the motor you can get away with using usdm JZ parts and if it’s a w58 trans car that wouldn’t be to hard to get either the diff as well cause you can use an is300 diff now the rear suspension and body panels are a bit funky that’s why I only gave it a 5 maybe a 6
What happens if you break your windshield on drift week so badly you have to replace it before you are allowed back on track again?
E46 all day
I bet an A90 Supra with a manual swap would be amazing on drift week.
Apparently it's getting a manual from the factory pretty soon as an answer to the new Z
I agree tho, it really strikes that balance of power and reliability
I wanna see more sedans!
- and so on
Not sure who rocks the Vette jacket better...
80year old, I once met my landlord when I lived in Finland, he turned up in a ferrari tracksuit gold watch and ferrari glasses, baller!
I would say excitement for a miata is pretty variable, if its a 16 year old in a stock 1.6 open diff that understeers its a 0. But, if you see a miata on someones door, you think holy shit that miata can actually drift! It just rarely happens that they have good drivers behind the wheel.
cool nice video
what an ending. could not have done the video better
Fucking Wout cracks me up
Are you an E46 subframe mount SIR
funny about the JZX100 and BMW size comparison.
No IS300s huh?
Is300 needed to be in the list !
Im glad that the s197 platform was mentioned in this. They are tanks and with the FDF kit on the front it transforms the steering. Stock they are garbage.
Z3 superiority!
Is300 would be another cool one
can you rank a stock NA is300 just with bolt ons and cut balljoints
What does cutting ball joints mean?
@@LoneStarDrift a makeshift angle kit, not too much angle like wise fab and fdf but just enough where your not fighting stock angle. about the same angle as a ez-knucklez kit

@@DriftJesus damn i was wrong hahaha.
LS E90 FTW
*riiiiggghhhhtt*
After doing the pedal dance and not getting any codes.
(This is illegal in Wisconsin, idk about Texas)
I ran a carfax on the car and it stated the rear end had been fully replaced. When I asked the owner about it he said he had *no idea*
Yet after buying the car, there was a Carfax folded up in the glovebox that had the damage reported on it.
I bought the car in May 2021, date on the carfax you ask? 2019.... but yea, he *didn't know*
Nah, those FR-S boxers will spin rod bearings. Ask me how I know 😢
