i have one and my dog peed on the corner. some of it got absorbed and i can't seem to get rid of it. i tried washing and cleaning the part using water and paper towels but the mark is still there. i also tried pouring hot water on the affected area, still had the mark but it does not stink. i just wish i can remove the mark.
@juts_sama i didnt try vinegar so i wouldnt know. i discarded the thing because one of the corners broke after a few months. performance mileage also dropped by a huge margin and i put it under the sun once a month to help it "recover". i just got tired of it so i went back to the conventional bathroom mat/rug.
@@vaynelevantVinegar or hydrogen peroxide + baking soda would have removed that bother. It's the one cleaning method that seems to work in every situation. I just purchased a few to test in our bathroom. I may be leaving this comment here for future me /help others.
@@thatdudej-chi it's a novelty item and it's good at first. once its effectiveness degrades, it's just additional work because i had to constantly take it outside to dry it off to the sun to make it more effective but at that point i'm better off just using a regular mat.
You guys didn't discover this. I had this in Japan and Korea back in 2015. And that's buying it online, which means the product went to market earlier as it was already well-recognized by consumers.
Hi SC, we never claimed to invent this but we're sure glad we discovered the power of diatomaceous earth in creating an eco-friendly and naturally anti-microbial bath mat!
just because i discovered a lemur in the jungle doesnt mean im the first human to ever bring the lemur into societal knowledge 🙄🙄see how this works senpai
Just because I discovered a pee soaked pair of underwear at the bottom of the dirty clothes hamper - does not mean I am claiming that I am the one responsible for their creation.
@@NebiaShower For those of us who need more room to open the shower door and step onto it, I think putting 2-4 down in a tile form will work to make a large pad.
I am not happy with mine. After 6 months, it looks dirty - and stays dirty looking. Ready to toss it and go back to my machine washable mat, that is clean after washing.
So sorry to hear that! If your mat gets stained, we recommend adding a gentle detergent to water and using a soft cloth or sponge to remove it. You can also sand gently with 400 grit sandpaper for peskier stains. Please try that and let us know if it doesn't work!
@@terry7893 the cottons ones get dirty too but guess what smart as? I can wash it, takes me 10 seconds to chuck it in a washing machine, comes out like new. This one? You have to sand it lmao. So next time, maybe use your brain to think before replying.
Athlete's foot - the fungus you most likely had - isn't regular mold. You have to catch it somewhere, like walking barefoot in a public pool, shower or locker room.
I dont understand where does the water go? Does the mat get heavier or something?
Can you please answer this question ?
Same as wet towel, where does the water goes? Its steams out
@@iREP87evaporation
It absorbs the water then the water evaporates
What happens if my cat pees on it? Will it absorb the smell and the scent stay forever?

You do realize discover doesn’t always mean invented or found first, right? It just means they found out or realized this for themselves.

Weird question, is it safe to use with dishes? As dish drying mat?
Actually there are many products by other companies made from diatomaceous earth specifically as dish drying mats.

It's very porous, so water is first absorbed and then evaporates
