🏆🙌🙌🙌 thank you so much for your continued support Paul! 💯 This was a set I had never seen or heard of until more recent years. Such a dramatic difference between the Hasbro gorilla, this was a really awesome set created by Mattel. Thanks for watching
My original gorilla I got when I was a kid is sitting happily on my shelf to this day! The launcher and net didn't last very long, can hardly remember them. I do remember how great the box was.
I actually remember seeing this set back in the old toy department store's such as May's, Woolworth etc, never owned a Big Jim I was strictly a gijoe adventure team fan, great set
I had that set as a kid! I never knew the weights mounted on the launcher. I can remember being in the department store in the toy section and there’s was a tall square display of these sets taller than I was! I believe it cost $5. My gorilla also doubled as king king for my army men and similar small soldiers. Great memories
Thanks for sharing your memories and watching the episode! I can imagine the net launcher being tricky, and the gorilla is just too good not to have used for other adventures 👍
Greetings from Brazil. Its believed that estrela (the toy company) was about to release big jim in Brazil but for some reason gijoe was the chosen one. So in 1977, under the name Commandos em acao Falcon, the Brazilian adventure team was born. In 1978 came not only the gorilla but also big jim's eagle for the falcon line. Only in Brazil mattel and Hasbro in the same package. This August estrela brought back the safari set which includes a gorila and a falcon figure in safari look for usd 90
Thank you for watching and for sharing your knowledge on how these two toy lines crossed together for some very unique sets in Brazil! Very interesting to hear how they intermingled the toy lines when making those sets. 👍
What a cool set, pretty neat arm articulation on an otherwise static figure.

A very nostalgic memory for me. Big Jim and GI Joe were my favorite toys that I had and still have now. Great review sir. 👍🏻
