I have two of these vices, and it was my first vice I was given to me by my parents. I love these vices, and they can take an absurd amount of abuse I mounted one horizontally (filing and general work) and one vertically (With the spindle down for cutting & grinding).

Vises today are cheap made they fall apart!! Vices made a hundred years ago are special!!!!
