The E39 is a timeless piece. I have a 2000 528i auto (2nd owner) since 2004. All of the services (trans/differential) done, replaced belts and cooling system. AC will run you out of the car it so cold. Paint is still glossy. It’s approaching 182k but honestly it rides EXTREMELY well. Thanks for your video 👍

I have a 1999 model and it looks and drives like new. Everything works and the interior suede is again like new. Bought it 2015 and best motor I have ever owned. Love the smooth automatic and it takes off when required.

Near enough same as mine; except mines a stick. Although I did swap out the stereo for an updated head unit.

There wasn't a lot wrong with these. I ran one for a number of years, they're pretty reliable and maintenance isn't costly. In my opinion the 528i was a bit underpowered, the 530i was considerably more lively. But as a means of transport the refinement and comfort was beyond complaint.
