I’m Alex Etches, a golf professional and golf RUclipsr. @@huntforchrisdo you think last years driver is a better but that this year's that's more than double the price is the extra performance worth the extra £ 250?
@@conalsands4748 unfortunately I couldn't tell you as I haven't tried both. Going off what a lot of youtubers say is there is only incremental improvement each year, even each 5 years, so your call if the extra is worth it. I would concede it is worth being able to pick a shaft that suits you which is only in the new ones where I can shop.

As a total beginner I can honestly say after watching lots of content on RUclips.. I have to admit your channel bridges the gap between great information and absolute smiles per view (mostly hilarious) brilliantly. 👌👏👏

I stopped playing golf 13 years ago. Since then, all my skin ailments have resolved, I sleep better, my finger nails are no longer bitten, alcohol consumption right down…and I have finally realised I like housework. Golf is like smoking: best never to start, but never stop giving up. You poor people!! 🕊from☘🇮🇪.
Great vid Alex. I've just been in the loft with my duster and given my clubs their annual "once over".
I bought an STZ 5 wood 12 months ago. It's the best club I've ever bought. Super versatile, and it's my go-to draw, off the tee, if I want to get the ball in play around 220 metres. Great ball flights and very soft feel. Now I just need to find the cash to upgrade my SIM to this bad boy.
I just gave my PingG400 driver away today to young fella on the golf course, he was proper overwhelmed with excitement. So now I’m on the hunt for a new set up, may just be the new Mizuno.
Than dont demo the new TSR line.....because you will buy it. I purchased a Cobra Speedzone in 2021. Did a check on the new TSR at Dicks recently and now I'm all screwed up in the head🤣. I thought my Cobra was pretty awesome, but the TSR just has that titanium smash to it. Nothing hits farther than a TSR.....nothing.
I would love to see you Bash a jdm RomaRo driver or maybe a Baldo or possibly a Ryoma!! We don't have access to jdm goodness in the US like you do down there, it would make an old sub smile

Wow, definitely had the gear effect. That one was way off the high toe and was trying hard to end in Barbara's lap and worked it's way back. Impressive Mizuno 👏⛳️ Might need to take this one to the course with some on-course vlogs for us Al. Funny you say sick of chasing the tee and the next ball you hit when flying in front of the camera 😂

O my I have this but I can't get on with it only because the shaft is too light at 50g so I am already thinking of putting it aside and just getting the 230 but iv not read much anywhere if there is a big enough difference between the 2 to upgrade so either get new shaft for the 220 or get new driver What to do?

Might not be a huge difference in price between mizuno and the bigger driver brands when brand new, but mizuno drivers drop much harder than the others on the second hand market. So you can get yourself a better deal there without sacrificing performance

I have the mizuno stz from a few years back love this club it replaced my taylormade sim driver i my have lost a yard or two but im in the fairway alot more love this club.i need to try the stz 230

Mizuno need to work on their naming for the drivers. I’m a gear nerd that’s looked at and hit them many times and when I hear st230Z I can’t remember for the life of me which one the Z is 😂

got mine yesterday and was able to hit it today... it really feels like cheating.
I'm just curious on the shaft length, was the driver you used still at 45"?
Shaft length is a game changer honestly. I’m 5’11 but have long arms, and cutting my shaft down by 1/4 inch has me finding center face alot more than before. That mixed with the shaft I was fitted for has made driving alot more fun
Stg220 still the best driver I’ve ever hit and that’s a bunch of them. Both weights back gives low spin bombs with forgiveness and great soft feel with dull thud sound, best of all worlds for me personally
Do you think there is a big small or not much of a difference in the 230 v 220 drivers in performance and distance
@@conalsands4748 haven’t hit the 230 because I don’t see any reason to upgrade based off my current numbers/consistency
@@codyr4816 ok Iv actually just rang up the pro there about demo shafts for the stz220 and he is going to check and get back to me so if he has any that I can try and suit me then the new 230 dream may be over just hope the 220 is a bit better than the current ping g400M
agree g 220 was my best driver 2023 i had most of everything available.
I feel like mizuno are a couple of generations from doing a cobra f9 and bringing out a driver everyone really wants

Didn't understand the comment about price. In USA the Mizuno price is $499. The Titleist and Callaway are $599, the Ping G430 price is $549. So is the Mizuno the quality to price ratio champion?

I just got fitted for one of these. Well, I was going to buy a hybrid but had a go with this too. Tried 3 shafts and the right one just added speed. Clubhead speed from the shaft and more ball speed too.
How do you like it ?
@@ariesnc6320 Still in the post. I think it's due around the 15th or so. 24 day turn around from the order. If it really is good in the flesh then I will probably add the 3w and 5w. On Trackman it certainly out perfomed my current set up - length and dispersion. But we all know the "It goes straight(er) guarantee" runs out the moment you buy it! 😂😂😂

Oh, ye of little faith. Nice one Al. Maybe i'll go back to a Mizuno driver from my Callaway. But the problem i have with Mizuno is i'm left handed and you righty's get all the gear.
False. Mizuno has both model’s for lefty’s
@@Azai115 I have pestered them about fairway woods. Not just drivers. I wanted a 7 wood, they didn't offer it ( 2 years ago) so I went to Callaway. Would have liked certain wedges, again not in left handed. It's more than just drivers.
My son is a lefty. Finding clubs is a nightmare, a bit like searching for rocking horse shit. I know your pain.
I feel you pain, being a lefty there are hardly any options in wedges and putters. The only shining light has been some very good bargains in clearance bins at times. There is a store in the UK that sells just lefty gear. Have got some bargains sent over here to Australia from there in the past

Honestly mizunos woods are terribly underrated. Some of the easiest clubs to hit imo. I just slightly prefer the paradym

Mizuno should take a hit on their drivers, £350 seems about the biting point for one of their new drivers.
I hope they do come down In price to at least 350 I'd buy one at that but not 450 so I will wait now but no idea how long it will be at 450
Not an impressive review. His criticisms are silly. Maybe they should have changed the look the way TaylorMade did and come out with a hideous red-faced shine crown?

I got the Cobra Speedzone in 2021. Great driver, but i tell all of you now. Nothing hits farther or feels better than the new TSRs. A guy at driving range saw my driver and wanted to test it. He liked it, but he set me up....lol
He said...."try this one". Handed me his TSR3. Now im all fucked up in the head😂. TSR rules them all......😮
