A lot of people went in expecting a film about the moon landing and about Neil. But this film is so much more than that.
This film is about a broken father who carried the hope of humanity and its achievement with him to the moon and beyond
Can't believe it got snubbed! Best Picture, Best Score, Best Cinematography, Best Director...
Especially Best Director and Score. Damien Chazelle and Justin Hurwitz poured their souls into this movie.

The score hits hard everytime. Damien being a musician helps a lot in his movies.

if first man wasnt based on a real life story, it would be the greatest sci fi movie of all time.

One of the Best sound in a space movie after interstellar and gravity.
This movie has a lot of ties to Interstellar and Space Odyssey. Music, scenes in space make this movie the next part.
I totally cannot understand, why this move is so underrated an unpopular. I love space movies, honestly seen them all, and i do not think that this movie was worse than "Apollo 13" (which is a masterpiece IMO).

It was perhaps the best film from 2018, but because the slow pace (and a weird hate Hollywood has to Damien Chazelle after La La Land) it was a huge snub for actor, supporting actress, adapted screenplay, film, directing, editing and most important soundtrack.

Really loved this movie, besides the perpetual shaky-cam and horribly awkward editing...
I thought I was the only one who feels that way. I mean I love this movie, really do. but the handheld cam sometimes makes me want to puke.
What horrible editing? There was none.

Such a good movie, but it was silly of them to not include them putting the American flag on the moon. Makes me think of the HOA’s that make people take down their American flag because it might offend someone. It’s just silly.
I think it was a statement that it's not necessary if it doesn't matter to the story also there's wide shot of the flag
