Thank you! I am dyin' over her trying to figure out all this...thank you for speaking slowly! Alot of tutorials are frustrating because they talk so fast.
I'm just starting out and your comprehensive tutorial will help me. Question: How do I size the image to fit my material? Like a post card, 148mm x 105mm? Thanks in advance.
Step 1. Crop the image so there is no space outside of what you want to laser Step 2. After the Setting screen for the images Brightness and contrast and white clipping press next, sizing will be there and it’s in MM if you use laser GRBL
Hello! Do you know how to change the settings for your work space because i have a new machine with a bigger work space. I need to change it to 450 x 440. But i don't know how!
You change the bed size in LaserGRBL, by adjusting the parameters $130 & $131 in the GRBL settings. These correspond to the X & Y axis working area of your laser, and essentially define the boundaries of your engraving bed. Since your machine is 450 (X-axis) x 440 (Y-axis), you would set the adjusting parameters as follows: Set $130 = 450 (X-axis maximum) Set $131 = 440 (Y-axis minimum) I hope this helps you.
Im very confused by this whole situation of stuff. Am about to get a longer ray 5 10wat tomorrow getting the laptop sorted i have some files already purchased in png and svg stil mind blown any more tips or email help would be helpful 🏴👍
Hello, I have a problem that when I set the size, the laser engraves or cuts a picture 2-3 times larger in size, I think it works on inches. Do you know how to change to millimeters?
@@LaserEngravingProfessor its not even inches, for instance when im trying to ingrave 100x100mm square and after it is finished i measure the length of the square, its 310x310mm. I've tried to find the solution of this problem on internet but in vain. I'll be very gratefull to you if you help me.
I like to generate gcode and upload it to the engraver's SD card and execute it locally. Then it's totally independent from my computer, no matter what OS update, sleep mode or crash happens to Windows. My Mecpow X5 has wifi that I can access via their web interface and upload, run the file wirelessly. I just wish LaserGRBL or Lightburn had a command to upload and run just like 3D printer slicers do.
@@LaserEngravingProfessor indeed. We are trying to do a photo and when we get it all set and press ok the picture doesn’t appear in the burn window a red box does.

I'm at the end with this engraver/cutter. Lol. Does anyone know how to cut stuff out. Every video I see is about engraving and I need to cut words out. Please help.
To cut you need higher power, and slower feed rates. For example. Engraving might be 3000mm/min speed, and 20% power. To cut, you would need 200mm/min speed and 100%power. In general, higher power and slower speed = deeper cuts.
Can you make a video using these software with a Cylindrical Laser Engraving Machine for Metal Engraver

My lasergrbl where your screen is yellow mine turned black and the pictures do not show up or come out clear

Why does my lasergrbl not look like this? Mine is a grid with 4 quadrants, not a blank tan canvas.
The updated version is what you have. Me too. That’s the older version. They changed the look of some of the icons but it’s pretty much the same.
Red box, any idea why ?
Can you elaborate
