I believe Valve introduced the workshop for L4D2 because they want people to make campaigns and maps. Turns out, this allowed the mod workshop to be this.
Yeah, L4D2 and GMod's Workshops are... Well they're _different._ Also Contagion's Workshop is absolutely barren for content. Seriously, the most cursed set up you can have from a player model standpoint is just some Pokemon, Dr. K, Neo from RWBY, Hong Meiling, Shaggy, a Werewolf, TF2's Engineer, and that's it. There's practically nothing, not many weapon mods, not many maps, the only Touhou character mod is the Scarlet Devil Mansion's gate keeper (the aforementioned Hong Meiling) and there's nothing else! There's a few Resident Evil player models, one Dead Space model that isn't even Isaac Clark, and Mass Effect pack but that's it. The whole Workshop feels empty, it's like a store or mall that's shutting down with how little there is in it.
L4D2 is more *different* to be fair, considering the fact it actually has mods with Nudity. Garry's mod however is regurally swept for stuff like that and deleted from it's workshop by the Dev Team (something like that anyway) So there is none on the steam workshop.
@@Bruh-d the gmod workshop *does* allow 18+ content but if it gets reported enough it'll get deleted, so not many addons like that survive, one funny thing though is that most of those 18+ addons i've seen are l4d2 ports lol
The green workshop subscribe button is like crack. Once you have a taste of it, the next thing you know is that you won’t stop clicking. The clicking only stop when your game finally give in with a crash. The only time I remember playing l4d2 without mods is my first time playing. After that was 300 hrs of gameplay with 170+ mods, I can no longer recognize the original game anymore.
I remember about a decade ago playing garry's mod with 2 buddies, me and 1 of them had solid internet so we would go "oh that looks like fun" and download it, the third had really slow internet, this poor bastard would get a compilation of what we grabbed and have to wait like an hour before playing with us.

I wondered why there were so many anime addons in the workshop for so long, me being me I had thought it was the katana, but after doing a bit of digging I found out that the game had an exclusive Japan release in 2014 with different characters for Taito arcades. Which would make a much more sensible progenitor to the anime incursion than a singular melee weapon in the game.
Try getting a Medium Power Laptop from 2020 Valve games are "Little" on PCs (Except Half Life Alxy and Counter Strike 2) so that Laptop will do a fine job and because it is from 2020 it means that it is cheaper too Of Course a PC that is build from the ground up Chip by Chip will always be better but not every has the Skill, Time or Money to do that You know? if You can do it if not don't do it

I would personally recommend a thick mid-tier gaming laptop from the brand Clevo (they sell under different names in different countries, but have the same manufacturer), preferably with an AMD Ryzen processor. They are a bit thicker and louder than more popular laptops, but that's because of their much better cooling, which allows them to work faster and for longer than thinner ones. Some even have replaceable/upgradeable CPUs and GPUs, a rarity for a laptop. But if you're planning on not using your PC anywhere but your desk, a desktop is the best option.

My friends and I will go into L4D2's workshop and put together mod collections for eachother to download. It ranges from really cool stuff, like when we turned it into a Halo Flood scenario, or it ends up being cursed as hell. It's a ton of fun.
I remember that a while ago, a friend of mine made random modpacks for L4D2 and would make me and some other friends play them with him. I liked to call them "Forrest Gump's Chocolate Boxes", simply because we would never know what mods we would get (except for my friend who made them of course.) Mostly it would just be a bunch of random mods thrown together for the giggles. Some were more cursed than others to say the least. Sometimes these modpacks would also follow a certain theme, like one time when we played with a underwater/ spongebob themed modpack.
Its really the best because youre not paying money to reskin or in some cases completely change characters! Like, the skins you can get for guns are not charging you insane amounts of money! You can get Counter strike skins for free in the workshop and spend 0. Thats why I just love l4d2 amd the steam workshop!

L4D2 Workshops are a mess but oh boy you should see the wallpaper engine, there are literal PORN videos as wallpapers, and no matter what you search even if it's something normal, you will find Porn of all kinds on the workshop regardless which is enough to make you question the type of people who create or use them.
I got to give a shoutout to the Cats for Common Infected. It's not because I hate cats or anything, but because of how it makes the game borderline unplayable due to making commons hard to see, let alone hit. It's basically a higher difficulty than Expert, because if you don't have the grenade launcher, then your ass ain't dealing with hoards, as you can't rely on headshots, shotgun and sniper penetration, or Melee to quickly deal with them.

I had Duke nukem, Barney, Taihou from azur lane and a well dressed Ellis fight zomibes that sound like micheal jackson, while Pink guy screams and jumps, Mr Bombastic with the Boomers, the My Leg guy from Spongebob when a explosion happens, the Tank Posing as a strong man as he's running around, with John Cena's theme. The Jockey sounds like Beavis, the Witch is a nurse and thats about it. one of my favorite modding scenes
As a modded L4D2 player, I love shooting a Cloaker from Payday 2 (Hunter) as Epsilon-11 from SCP: Containment Breach (Coach) while Meowscarada from Pokemon S/V (Rochelle) gets swarmed by engineers from TF2 (common infected)

Workshop is great since most things were client sided. Pretty much allows you to customize your experience. I ended up turning my game into TF2 and played a lot more RocketDude ever since Last Stand Update was released.

I am here to inform you that the character model used to fill in for Ellis as is an anthropomorphized WW2 Destroyer-class warship from the game Kantai Collection, KanColle. Specifically, the Imperial Japanse Navy's Akatsuki-class Destroyer, Inazuma. Weirdly, the voice lines are from her sisters ship, Ikazuchi and Akatsuki, hell she you can even hear her say her name on the voice lines from 6:02 and 6:31! Maybe the Duke and Kita-chan's (red haired gal on Rochelle's slot) models didn't come with voice lines so it defaulted to using the voice lines of the model? (I have the set installed on my own L4D2 game so I'm sort of familiar with it) Ironic though, considering the WW2 joke at the start of the vid lmao
hahaha... as someone who only came back to l4d2 after many many years and discovering workshop mods, it's quite a refreshing experience... now a few months of playing i just keep my mods consistent to each other to avoid hurting my head and eyes from all the chaos of just subscribing to anything that caught my eyes.
I remember having tsuyu as the smoker, terry crews as charger, with charge sound being thomas the train earrape, guinea pig as jockey and donald trump as tank As for the weapons i remember having some fun ones but mostly all with the best animations

consider recording with matroska container instead of mp4. it's way more corruption resistant, and mp4 can't skip a beat without it getting corrupt

record in mkv instead of mp4 as it is crash protected. you can remux the mkv to mp4 after finishing the recording within obs as well.

L4D2 Workshops are a mess but oh boy you should see the wallpaper engine, there are literal PORN videos as wallpapers, and no matter what you search even if it's something normal, you will find Porn of all kinds on the workshop regardless which is enough to make you question the type of people who create or use them.
And theres a setting specifically to disable anime. Its great

I got to give a shoutout to the Cats for Common Infected. It's not because I hate cats or anything, but because of how it makes the game borderline unplayable due to making commons hard to see, let alone hit. It's basically a higher difficulty than Expert, because if you don't have the grenade launcher, then your ass ain't dealing with hoards, as you can't rely on headshots, shotgun and sniper penetration, or Melee to quickly deal with them.

I had Duke nukem, Barney, Taihou from azur lane and a well dressed Ellis fight zomibes that sound like micheal jackson, while Pink guy screams and jumps, Mr Bombastic with the Boomers, the My Leg guy from Spongebob when a explosion happens, the Tank Posing as a strong man as he's running around, with John Cena's theme. The Jockey sounds like Beavis, the Witch is a nurse and thats about it.

As a modded L4D2 player, I love shooting a Cloaker from Payday 2 (Hunter) as Epsilon-11 from SCP: Containment Breach (Coach) while Meowscarada from Pokemon S/V (Rochelle) gets swarmed by engineers from TF2 (common infected)

Workshop is great since most things were client sided. Pretty much allows you to customize your experience.
I ended up turning my game into TF2 and played a lot more RocketDude ever since Last Stand Update was released.

I am here to inform you that the character model used to fill in for Ellis as is an anthropomorphized WW2 Destroyer-class warship from the game Kantai Collection, KanColle. Specifically, the Imperial Japanse Navy's Akatsuki-class Destroyer, Inazuma. Weirdly, the voice lines are from her sisters ship, Ikazuchi and Akatsuki, hell she you can even hear her say her name on the voice lines from 6:02 and 6:31! Maybe the Duke and Kita-chan's (red haired gal on Rochelle's slot) models didn't come with voice lines so it defaulted to using the voice lines of the model? (I have the set installed on my own L4D2 game so I'm sort of familiar with it)
Ironic though, considering the WW2 joke at the start of the vid lmao

hahaha... as someone who only came back to l4d2 after many many years and discovering workshop mods, it's quite a refreshing experience... now a few months of playing i just keep my mods consistent to each other to avoid hurting my head and eyes from all the chaos of just subscribing to anything that caught my eyes.
