      Yeah, if you got all the rocket scientists trained during the cold War, with the massive taxes from US citizens
      If you got all these intelligence resource, know how and experiences, 'produced' by the investment paid by the US citizens, for free from NASA, you might do better.
      Now you know why NASA sucks in recent years?😢

    the pulsations during the final shutdown made me a tad nervous. those kind of pulsations have a tendency to bifurcate and produce new unintended oscillations leading to unfathomable ruds. jus sayin.

      I think that was an intentional rapid throttle test, but I'm not sure.

    • @docmordrid
      @docmordrid 5 лет назад +5

      That's normal throttling with SuperDraco (a 3D printed engine made of Inconel). It can go from 0% - 100% in 100 milliseconds and pulse at a similar rate. 16,000+ lbs of thrust EACH, and Crew Dragon has 8.
      SERIOUSLY cool.

      At first I was thinking "How on earth do you 3D print Inconel", then I remembered that they use frickin' laser beams to 3d print metal. The SuperDraco thrusters are just the definition of cool.

    What is the difficulty in this today? This is how they took off and landed so many times without previous tests with the lunar module, without atmosphere, gravity different from ours 50 years ago, and I imagine, without using accelerometers and other electronic resources ... or not?

    • @AnthonyElsom
      @AnthonyElsom 5 лет назад +4

      No difficulty..just modern application of PROVEN 60's tech used in a different configuration. And since there's no official race against another super power like the sixties, SAFETY is of the essence..All these precautions are rules written in blood.
