Julie in Italy (Finally!) 🇮🇹✨
Authentic Italy, Delivered to Your Doorstep! 🏡🍝
I've put a lot of thought into this new channel, @julieinitaly and decided now is the perfect time to take the plunge. My @AmericanViscountess RUclips channel has seen incredible growth since its inception, now boasting over 213k subscribers. Our "Castles, Manors, and Stately Homes" content is also licensed by Little Dot Studios www.littledots... and is featured on their various RUclips and FAST channels, such as @RealRoyalty (with 1.2 million subscribers), @ChronicleMedieval - @AbodeLDS (interior design and renovation), and more. Thank you all for being part of this journey! 🙏🏻
Given the popularity of my Little Italian House renovation vlogs on the @AmericanViscountess channel-some of which have surpassed 1 million views-it made sense to launch a dedicated channel, @julieinitaly Thank you for your continued support! 🎉
At the launch of @julieinitaly I'll be uploading archive vlogs from the past three years to help build the channel. Starting in July 2024, you'll get to enjoy fresh and exciting content. The kitchen renovation videos will continue to be uploaded on @AmericanViscountess and eventually on @julieinitaly It may seem a bit confusing, but rest assured, you'll get a healthy dose of Italy on both channels until the end of 2024 when we fully transition. Phew, and thank you! 🥳
Please subscribe to @julieinitaly - it costs nothing and helps me grow the channel. 🙏🏻❤️📈
As a child our family of ten experienced hard times, We were clothed from jumble sales and furniture was either rescued from people’s unwanted items or junk shops. At times I remember feeling embarrassed standing in the jumble sale queue hopeful, embarrassed, ashamed that anyone I knew would not spot me. Today these junk shops and charity shop finds are now on trend, I am genius at spoting a bargain and our home is full of others once loved now unwanted treasures, very rarely purchase new clothing and when I do it has to be a bargain. Mum has long since departed, eternally grateful and proud of her lessons on thriftiness.x
@robsondog01
That meant alot to me...wonderful memories...🥲😉🥰
In the Appalachian South there is a custom of putting cobalt blue glass in front of the kitchen window to keep out “hungry hants” (ghosts) coming in the window for food. From Germany, German settlers also put a little carved rabbit in their food cupboard to encourage the food to multiply, so the family would never go hungry. Once we heard about that custom, we all did it too in our houses. So far, it’s working!
❤ NOT a hoader, rather a REPURPOSER! Loved the video! Thanks for saving AMAZING items from a landfill and sharing a bit of Italy 🇮🇹 with us! 🩷🌿
Glad you liked it!!
Same!!❤❤
These flea market shopping videos are some of my favorites! It’s interesting to see what you choose and where you put those treasures in your home. So much to choose from! ❤
OH please take a look for antique jewelry as you are in these places!! What amazing things!!
The kitchen is looking great can’t wait to see it finished great finds Julie ❤️🤗
❤
Dear Julie, I love watching all your vlogs for its charm and learning about both British and Italian customs and history. I'm a European born, but a Canadian for 68 years. You're such a lovely lady, but when I see you going au natural on camera, I keep thinking how much more lovelier you could be with a touch of blush and a lovely shade of lipstick. I remember an advice I received in Paris just as I turned 40, from a fashionable lady, "after your 4 decades, never leave the house without lipstick and a touch of mascara, your audience will thank you".
I kept that advice to this day. I just turned 78 last month.😊
What great finds. Proves you don't have to spend a lot to find special, beautiful items with SOUL to adorn your house!
Absolutely!!
Definitely get the Cowes boat painting after negotiating the price down. Love it!
I love all the finds, my fav is the small painting. You've such a good eye for putting beautiful things together in a thoughtful manner.
Loveeeeeeee all the beautiful things you got today
Wait!!!...I just started watching....You passed by these beautiful large copper/gold pots/lamps...don't know what they are, but they look beautiful!!
I think it's fair to say you are probably the HARDEST working Countess of this era and ALL eras ❤you've more than earned your spot Julie your work will be the discussion of your descendants xo . I have a great idea..!
You can ALL get your portrait painted.. ALL OF YOU IN 1 PAINTING! ❤kids too 🎉 😘

Thank you sooooo much! and GREAT idea!
@julieinitaly OMG JULIE- U won't believe what I just found SERENDIPITOUSLY-
Search- Remains of Hell fire club UK ! Its a vid about their building now a ruin used by them! ..1st guy mentioned- -JON MONTAGU -Earl of Sandwich! was an original 12 member along w Bemjamin franklin in 1700s! It was a SATANIC SECRET club later reignited by Alastair Crowley - They started the phrase "DO WHAT THOU WILT"! incredible .. u need to get your FIL to check books in the library ! Xo 🤗 😘 u can dedicate another room- original FREEMASON ❤️ from 🇨🇦
I would have assumed that small primative screened cabinet a pie safe. Where pies were put to cool, and keep flies from sitting on them.
@@loriplate729
Exactly! Kept in the kitchen and sometimes on the front porch to cool. Grandma put hers in front of the open window to entice Granddad to come in!
The vases next to the basket on the floor that you like…are wonderful
Oh my gosh, that is literally my idea of heaven. Many years ago I explored the Depot Ventes in Normandy, and found many beautiful pieces of antique French furniture. I now want to visit Tuscany just to spend my days in places such as these. Incidentally, we are a Dorset family local to Mapperton. It’s one of our fave places to visit, we love to eat in the cafe and walk in the immediate vicinity. Our 2 feral ( now ‘domesticated’ ) cats were born at Mapperton!
amazing!!!
Ciao Julie, what a blast today was, I love shopping with you. What a haul for 60e. the only thing with the Murano vase is a beauty. Thanks for taking us along. Amore da N.Y.
so appreciate your energy. super fun finds! your little Italian home is becoming so warm, inviting . . . cozy.
Thanks so much! 😊
Oh, Julie, thank you for sharing Nestor's channel. It was an absolute JOY to be able to meet him. So much like YOU! Passionate. Independent. And he knows knots! No doubt you worry to death about him. Much thanks to you and Luke for giving him so much space. He's a good kid. Can't wait to see what is in store for him. Hope he is good student, too! Congratulations!
And he is so stinkin’ CUTE, too! ❤
♥️♥️
Just learned what a demijohn glass is! I think a big oversized one would look great in that high kitchen window, to catch the light.
Hi 😃 I had an idea! I don't know if you going to like it, but... You can hang an old small window frame and replace the glass with mirror glass...or live it as is and transformed into a "porta strofinacci" in the kitcken, as a thing where you can hang your kitchen towel, so they have a place and they are not too much around in the kitchen. You can paint the frame of the old window sage as the kitchen as well! And you can duplicate it on the farmhouse as well! 😃
I really love the impressionistic art. I think it mixes with everything beautiful in your home up until the point where I got disabled and took up art I used to think only realism was beautiful, but I love all types of art, modern impressionistic you’ve done a wonderful job decorating your home, it feels comfortable and inviting🦋
Love coming along on your shopping trip.
Me too, I am so addicted to thrifting online. I have actually been on a trinket box kick lately. Love handmade, vintage, and cheap!
You are my spirit animal!❤❤❤. It would be so much fun hunting for treasures with you!!! ❤❤❤ everything you purchased!!! Thanks!!!
Thank you so much!
Love that Murano vase! Thank you for taking us along. Thrifting is like exploring Grandma’s attic for hidden treasures. BTW the kitchen looks like a wonderful place to cook and hang out. Stay well.
Glad u got that picture @40 euros. I thought it would also be perfect for the kitchen as well. Love going to the flea markets with you...always great finds! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🫶
That is a fabulous flea market! Is like Aladdin’s Cave!
I think of it as …” your trash is my treasure”. ❤
Flea Market shopping is fun!!! Enjoy discovering the amazing items then choosing each perfect treasure for your Italian home. Love!
Yes! Thank you!
Love ❤️ your Video. Enjoy your time. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👍🇱🇷California.
Thank you! 🤗
Beautiful. Virtual shopping trip to Italy until I get my residence there. So interesting. I had fuuun! I would have bought the little painting, too ; it's so pretty. Never boring. I like seeing what you've done to the little house. I'll keep checking in. Thank you for sharing.
Love picture , really like naive paintings
You found so many beautiful things! I would have bought all that you did, along with the basket! The basket could hold books or other things in the kitchen or living room! Absolutely love everything you decorate with!
Buy those green pictures for your kitchen.they look so fun. Will go great in bedroom. Beautiful.
😅HI, JULIE, this is V l do love this idea of getting something for us. Bye for now l have to finish watching this video.
I love your flea market videos. That small painting is my favorite.
Mine too!
Mine too, at first blush it reminded me of your Italian villa!
Ha!!!! you mentioned going to lunch. We didn't see your lunch...lol
We also enjoy seeing what you eat in Italy as well. 😄
Yes it was there. But the sea ♥️
Julie, do you have any updates about the cellar beneath your house? You were going to investigate if it belongs to you.
Yes news in August xx can’t wait to share!
I was wondering about the cellar too!!
August is here still waiting. Nearly gone actually.
Love the picture. Its got the kitchen green in it aswell.
Yes! Thank you!
Darling, I’ve been watching you renovate this Italian precious home of yours and you’ve done such a wonderful job. I’m so happy to see you back. During this time that I’ve been watching your channel, my husband has been diagnosed with cancer. It was unexpected. It’s scary and he will be needing a stem cell transplant this year. In this video, I noticed that you said that you were going to have a few Airbnb‘s. We are not working, but if he gets through the stem cell transplant, we need to get away. And we have always wanted to see the UK and we’ve always wanted to see Italy, so what I’m asking is approximately how much you would rent as an Airbnb. Thank you so much for all the fun and I’m having watching your channel making believe I’m shopping with you. God bless you.
Would the green bottles go well in front of the high window with the deep ledge in the kitchen? Then the light would shine through them
Love your finds! Thanks for taking us shopping with you!🇮🇹
Hi Julie, the cabinet where you placed the little glass vase would highlight items in the cabinet better if some embossed wallpaper was added to the back, or a mirror, love watching your show
Great idea!
I'm not so much into Asian, but I really like the 80 Euro brass (?) table.
Brass is really popular these days over here in Texas and well, all over the States, because I shop online.
Going flea market hunting with you Julie is so much fun!!!! Thanks for taking me along👍🏻
I absolutely love the painting! It is perfect for the bedroom! I’m a sucker for vases, jugs and bottles. You did a great job finding those beauties. The little box is ❤️
I can’t wait to see the finished Italian kitchen and the farmhouse renovation🤩
Bianchi? Alberto Bianchi? You might have a gem of a little painting there. :)
@@michellebutler7181. I researched his art. Julie, you have a treasure for sure. I suggest a tiny easel to display it on instead of propping it up. The easel will give more options for prominent placement.
Wow! I’m researching now!
Exciting finds, absolutely love that flea market!
Rooster is really cute
The kitchen is lovely
How nice ~ Italian treasures 😊
The tall green glass bottle should go on the window sill/shelf you showed in a recent video, maybe the kitchen?? It would set off the stone wall exposed at the other end of the window well.
Julie, you are a crack up. A Lady who lives 2 completely different lives. Love it. I’m so jealous. Sadly, I waited too long to live my dream.
The mesh screen cabinet is a pie safe.
I’m shopping with you as you shop that little painting is what I meant I love it too
Wonderful Julie. Why is it that all the time when I watch your videos I want to move to Italy. 😁

이탈리아 벼룩시장은 오랜 역사와 함께 자리 잡고 있어서, 그 안에는 끊임없는 탐험이 기다리고 있을 것 같아요. 즐거운 시간이었습니다. 감사합니다.💞
Yes!! The painting is my absolute favourite. Incredible find!
The wicker surrounding a damigiana (demijohn in Italian) is a fiasco. We love the name so much that my husband and I named a wine (a Chianti styled Sangiovese) at our winery “Fiasco.” We don’t know how fiasco came to mean what it does in the states. Maybe someone drank a damigiana amount of wine and his day 😂turned into a fiasco?
You passed some great industrial like brass lamps on the table walking in -
Bargain! The artwork alone is brilliant!! Love it! ❤
Wonderful finds, the painting is perfect over your bed.
I love the painting you bought that will go over your bed!
Me too!
The modern style painting is my fave. Superb!
I could easily spend hours there.... I like looking at every little thing!
I love those Dungerees ❤ Love watching this transformation unfold 💃🏽

Thank you so much!!!
A warm hug from Finland, Julie, for sharing your adventures in Italy.
You’re born for this Julie. ❤ I love the view in the videos when using the selfie stick. Funny we don’t see it but we see your little hand clutching it 😂😂😂. The little vase 💞💞💞💞💞 I know I mentioned putting the clock up on the window shelf. Now you held that beautiful green bottle up WOW the light showing through some gorgeous glass vases YES and fill with fresh flowers everytime you’re in your little Italian home. 😊 lovely video once again.
love it what an adventure!
Love that painting. What a fun day out! ❤
Love all your goodies! What fun...
enjoying your shopping trips and beautiful items you brought joyful to watch
Hi Julie in Australia 🇦🇺 your trinket cupboard was called a Meat safe.I bought one similar 47 years ago .Mine was a cupboard without legs ! It had mesh on the outside walls .The top I sanded back it was Australian red cedar. They would place wet hessian over the cupboard and place it in the shade to get the breeze!Enjoy your trinket cupboard and Finds in Italy your having such fun 😊
Fabulous finds!
Thank you!!
The curio cabinet is called a meat safe 😊
Love the little vase.
Amazing fun video, always sooooo much fun hanging out with you, such a delightful wonderful person, cannot wait for the next vlog. ❤❤❤❤
Wow! thank you!
Love going on your thrift/antique store ventures. Such fun. 😂
♥️
Julie has already mastered the art of crazy European driving! 😂
Yeah you are back.. ❤❤
Ohh yes let's go treasure hunting in that amazing time capsules place 😀👍
Big hugs from Denmark.
💝🌹🥰
Very fun, Julie! The basket was my favorite, so I am sad it won’t live with you, but enjoy your treasures!
Oh no! Yes, I was sad to part with it but there will be others....
Love "junking" with you in Italy🙂I scour all over the northeast for thrifty shops - great fun!
Terracotta bust was wonderful on the surface where you brought the bottle for the kitchem
Had a fun time watching you find those wonderful items!!!
Glad you enjoyed!
I carefully cut a bottle out of a wicker basket. They both look fab separated. I found it at the decheterie 🙂
Great prices!
Picture in style of Georgia O Keefe/ Victor Pasmore. Love it.
Fantastic finds love it.....The little painting by BIANCHI can easly be cleaned by you, my friend that worked in an Art Museum, said they sometimes would take some white bread and work it in the hand into a tiny ball and gently rub the dirt off the paintings ....try it it works hahha x
I might try that!!!
It is so fun shopping with you~
Oh, I would live in that vintage store! So much temptation!! Are there similar stores like this in many regions of Italy?
I think so!
Green damigeana is good to make limoncello in. Limoncello is fantastic for roasting deboned chicken with a bit of sage in the pre-marinating process.
This is so much fun going along with you, virtually! Today’s haul, so to speak, was great, I’ll start with the picture in frame that will go over your master bed, perfect in every way! The colors in the frame itself, and then the picture, almost reminds me of Folk Art, but the dark colors in it will be a great contrast with the color of your bed frame, which I think is beautiful. Can’t wait to see it once you’ve hung it up. The Murano glass vase is so cute, great price, also. I am looking at things as you do, well, I’m getting a lot of ideas and I do like your style. Let’s go shopping again❤️.
Thank you so much! Lots of more shopping together coming up!
I loved that big chunky mirror! You did great Julie! I love your place!
Thanks so much! 😊
Hello. Does the UK still have church jumble sales? It would be very interesting to see you shop one. Good luck and thank you for the videos.
I love your mapperton and these Italian home videos. I just wanted you to know if you notice in your analytics someone FF most of the video, it was me because I have severe motion sickness and whatever camera/drone you were using at the flea market was activating it. Sorry! 😬 But I did enjoy seeing your finds at the end on a stable camera. 😊
The lens on the camera plus the movement of it created odd motions. I've seen other RUclipsrs use the DJI cameras. My husband bought one for us for vacations as it has stability built in with the gimble/handle. Maybe something like that would assist, Julie? The cell phone footage was steadier and easier to watch.
@@joyceburkhardt955 I agree that the cell phone footage when she physically carried it around was much easier to watch. I know she uses a stick sometimes and that doesn’t seem to bother me either. It’s just whatever mechanism she used in the flea market. I could be ultra sensitive today with motion for some reason, I don’t know. 🤷🏻♀️ I still enjoyed the video tho! ❤️😊
@@crystalb.5725 I really enjoy these videos too!
@@crystalb.5725 And why does the selfie stick the camera was on only appear in the mirror? I'd rather see the stick than the weird thing it was doing to Julie's hand.
I enjoy these videos to I have motion sickness to when the video or phone starts doing that I turn my head do something else just listen to her
Julie, I would love to go thrifting with you. I walk through the stores two or three times also. I love the beautiful music you have as background.
The kitchen is looking fantastic too!!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😊
You passed the crystal chandelier very pretty and when you walked in and you passed a beautiful cream colored armchair I think it would look great at mapperton
I loved the 2 vases next to the basket you selected.
@@revyred8679 so did I and thought they would be perfect for the kitchen window ledge.
I don't think the bright colours match the rest of the house
I was thinking for the window niche a basket for market/thrift days, a couple bread bowls and some colored glass -think stained glass effect. Extra baskets for market/thrift are needed for guests when they visit.
