Hey Joe, have you tried the ball dot marking templates they have on eBa & amazon? These allow you to draw the dots with a permanent marker rather than stick them on with dots.
I would love to seem them use grid lines or dots on the greens so you know whether they’re breaking up/down/left/right.. I really hope they are working on something..
Just tried my new MLM2Pro today. Delighted with it. Looking forward to this upgrade rolling out to production. One thing Id like to see from Rapsodo do on the app however is the ability to download a course so you can play it offline at the driving range on your iPad.
With the original MLM you will need to get the RCT golf balls for accurate spin. Unfortunately it won't do soon axis indoors this is a limitation of the hardware. Using RPT balls with the original MLM won't have any effect. The MLM2PRO uses the RPT balls for spin and spin axis. Using RCT golf balls with the MLM2PRO won't do anything.
Looking forward to getting mine in the next couple of days. The updated range looks really good. Not sure it they will ever be able to add full club data with face angle and face to path, but based on the technology, I would have thought club path should be possible.
Since the MLM2Pro is both radar and camera based, I wonder why Rapsodo hasn’t found it prudent to add metal to the inside of the Callaway balls along with the outside pattern, similar to the Garmin r10 RCT balls. I would think this would make the MLM2Pro even more accurate, no??
I just reviewed my data, when using the practice mode, my average 7 iron was 160. That matches my real world experience very well. Using the new target range, my average 7 iron carry was 180, which is not what I actually experience. Despite this, I really like the new Target Range and I expect this will be corrected in the future. Thanks Joe!
Yes I can confirm that the range is downhill 👍 so that's why the carry distance seems a bit long. I just filmed a video that has the new update where they show how far downhill each shot is. Cheers
@@JLagGOLF Thanks for this confirmation I was getting similar distance increases from flat range. Would agree it would be useful to get an adjusted carry number for those that want it do really dial in.
Really good update! An upgrade i’d like to see is the ability to compare 2 shots against each other side by side, also have something where you can edit lines onto the replay to see if you’re inside or over the top etc. would help when practicing!
Oh for sure just some simple swing analysis tools in the replay would be great 👍. It keeps getting better and better that's for sure! Excited to see what they are working on next.
Just gave it a try and love it. I could see this growing into a great tool and also a game between friends. Maybe a beginner, immediate, advanced settings where the greens get bigger to smaller. Also, make this like a TopGolf game with multiple golfers aiming for targets, greens light up when you hit them, etc.
Hey Michael I have it connected via HDMI. I have a 10m cable running on the roof and down the wall to the computer or iPad.. for me wired is just easier than casting it.
Love this thanks, really good to know as i dont seem to get many updates from Rapsodo about changes and these videos are great. Looking forward to being able to use this i would use this feature so much more than the courses i think.
Cheers Barry! It is now released to everyone and 100 percent I will use this more than the courses. If I have a spare 30 minutes I'd rather go and use this vs one of the courses.
How do you get the projector to show full screen like that? When I have my unit connected to my iPhone using a lighting HDMI cable, it is just in the small screen mirroring mode (vertical long edge and narrow width top/bottom lines).
Hey mate my screen is closer to 4:3 the aspect ratio that the iPad uses than it is to 16:9 but what I do to get the laptop full screen is just do a custom resolution. Unfortunately with the iPad or iPhone you can't do a custom resolution. So I decided to make it fit my iPad and then I can adjust my computer screen to fit perfectly. Cheers
Thanks Joe - my son and I are looking at this as an alternative to much more expensive units (especially factoring in divorce costs...). Agree with your recommendations on the software and was wondering if you know whether Rapsodo outputs raw data (we are numbers nerds) for further analysis. In any case, it looks like excellent value and we'll take a closer look. Cheers from Sydney - Dave
Thanks Dave and yes I completely agree this unit is incredible for the price point. If you're looking for something that is going to give you extremely accurate data for around that $1,000 mark, nothing comes close to this. The one area where it still struggles though in my opinion is chipping.. I'll have a video coming out in the next few days where I play 18 full holes on GS Pro and it'll show off exactly what I mean. Having to hit the same chip shot two to four times can get frustrating. However I know they can fix this because they have before. It just needs to be tweaked again. Joe
@@JLagGOLF Thanks for the reply Joe. After more careful thought, we're now looking more seriously at the Skytrak Plus and the contenders in that price range. My son is 14 and almost scratch now and is very serious with his practice and development. I'm currently at 7 and would like to get to scratch (probably unlikely now...) - at least I'd like to have half a chance at beating him occasionally! So I think we're going to be better off in the long run with the more comprehensive metrics, especially club path, and the better accuracy and range of capabilities of the better system, without going to the Full Swing level. ...or are we being silly with our money??!! Cheers and thanks again - David (and young Will)
@@deldridg@deldridg I would seriously consider not getting the Skytrak Plus... I'll have a video coming out in a few weeks hopefully reviewing it. There are a LOT of "fake" or sponsored reviews out there making it look amazing. There are a lot of flaws with it. If you're in that price range I would highly recommend the eye mini lite. Yes you're not going to get some of the club metrics but it is going to be a lot better for a LOT of reasons that are too hard to explain in this message. Call Sam from Bayside Golf and just have a chat to him about them both as he sells them mention you got directed through the channel. I don't get any kickback whatsoever and am not affiliated but he will be more than willing to help. Or additionally join the Joe Lagowski Golf Facebook group. There are a lot of amazing people that can help make the decision. Sam is also a member on there as well. Cheers
@@JLagGOLF Thank you again Joe for your kind inputs. We probably can't stretch the budget that far in any case. A friend has offered us an almost new Skytrak (not the plus) with very low mileage, so that's a possibility too. However, I think my son will need actual club path data at his level. I'll give Sam a bell tomorrow and see what he has and recommends. I'm not really on FB but for your channel I might have to make an exception! Cheers and big thanks - David (and young William)
Had a few odd reads from the MLM2PRO here if I'm honest at least with my feels anyway. I was thinking about it and it's possibly due to the dots on the RPT ball they aren't perfect anymore (showing a lot of wear) and I'm thinking potentially it misread due to them.
Most of the reviews, if not all, that I have watched regarding spin axis accuracy, have MLM2Pro as extremely accurate, so I’m surprised by these numbers.
Hey Joe, I’m thinking to have all the changes you’re asking for in the application they would need to have a different version for an iPhone and an iPad or an android phone. Making those micro adjustments on a phone would be gruesome. second not only does awesome. Golf need to pick up their game but so does unicorn when it comes to practice software just providing a driving range really isn’t enough anymore.
Joe do you think they will ever add club data in the future? I use the spin axis but club data maybe with the use of a sticker would be amazing. Thanks I'll have to update my unit.
They can add it but it wouldn’t be accurate with the current hardware. It’s a trade off when going with budget friendly options. I’d recommend buying Mevo+ when they have a sale. I think that’s the best low to mid level simulator.
It's a tough one although they could give estimated data I'm absolutely sure they could do that and it would be quite accurate I don't know if they will.. I don't think it's their priority tbh. I wouldn't buy the unit in the hopes they are going to add it.
Yes absolutely you just need to sign up when they offer it. If you're not already jump on the Joe Lagowski Golf Facebook group as I post them on there.
From an interface design perspective I would love to see them move club selection to the bottom right and then have the mini map and targets hit metrics stacked so you can see both without needing to swipe. maybe even have the option to hide both widgets just by tapping on them for more view of the range if you don't want to see the numbers. Also being able to select a target just by pressing somewhere on the mini map Think this is a great edition though looking forward to trying it out later
Yes all valid points! With the iPad I have there is so much real-estate that they could have a lot more metrics and things displayed. This is definitely the best thing that's come to the app 👍👍

Mr. Lagowski will the Calaway RPT's measure well with the first MLM. Or does a regular ball with the Raspsodo Ball Dot's work as well.

Question about how you are connecting to your projector. Is it via HDMI or wireless?
Hey Michael I have it connected via HDMI. I have a 10m cable running on the roof and down the wall to the computer or iPad.. for me wired is just easier than casting it.
Does it allow you to pick a club to be recorded with the shot data, similar to the Awesome Golf coaching section?
