I like how this opening brings more of a focus to the party members while the persona 5 version focuses more on Ren. Makes sense since I feel P3 was mainly driven by the cast's actions rather than the protagonist who kind of just watched nearly every major cutscene till the end.

So let me start off by saying that I think the Persona 3 characters are incredibly interesting but at times they're super unlikeable. Junpei was unreasonably jealous of the protagonist for what felt like a majority of the game, Yukari was incredibly untrusting of Mitsuru for the majority of the game (and then of course we have Yukari being jealous of Aegis during the answer), and Ken was a little bitch in general. The only consistently likeable characters in the game imo were Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Aegis. Now, to be fair, I think the stress of having to save the world would make anyone pretty cranky but that doesn't diminish the fact that they tended to be pretty unlikeable. Minato/Door-kun was the most bland of the Persona 3/4/5 protagonists based off his dialogue choices. I feel like a large part of the appeal of the persona games is a group of friends coming together to overcome impossible odds. But I never really felt like S.E.E.S could ever be hold together much less be friends if Minato wasn't there. But that sense is encapsulated pretty well in Persona 4 and perfectly in Persona 5. So when I have don't really like half of S.E.E.S then I think it's natural for me to say I like the Persona 4 characters more than the persona 3 characters. For the most part I liked all the Persona 4 characters consistently expect for the small moments when Yosuke's homophobia got on my nerves (which is odd since apparently he was going to be a gay option) and Yukiko who was just bland in general
Really a shame they went for a simple rhythm game cashgrab for P3D/P5D instead of giving them proper story mode like in P4D. Lyrics of the opening would just fit so nicely to have the team one last reunion / party night with Door-kun arranged by Elizabeth some time after Persona 3
