the 100m/s speed limit was a brilliant move by the devs. it s just limiting enough, that people will mod it away ASAP ... and smash into everything because of it. I can almost hear the devs, giggling a "Told Ya' !"
Your dependance on build and repair makes this such a hard watch. It would have taken literally seconds to empty the cargo containers manually but just destroying them caused you so many issues. 🤣 The reason you could not steal the ship was potentially due to hidden blocks and definitely due to the fact you failed to grind the seats under 'HACK' (53:59 you can see neither chair was done correctly)
@@ResearchMonkey437 Not grinding any of the specified blocks to below the 'HACK' bar, will not allow you to capture the ship. I'm not saying it was just both chairs; there may have been another hidden remote control. But not doing the seats correctly definitely didn't help you
THIS. Keeps the fighting away from your precious base. NPCs will typically move towards and hover over the nearest target. My MO is to then have some sort of strike craft on stand-by to respond while the NPCs are busy with my off-grid turrets. They're usually up high about 1 or 2 km from my main base
KEEN - AirLock: Use a curved window, while you can walk through the blocks sides, it still counts as air tight. So just put one infront of your door and you ll never loose air through your airlock.
There's a script for build & repair on the steam workshop you can place into a programmable block to link it with assemblers so if they are trying to build something and don't have the parts the missing stuff will get added to the production queue. Will also work with multiples B&R's and assemblers. Easiest way to save a drillhead while adjusting pistons is to use merge blocks to anchor it then detach the rotor head. Tweak the pistons or whatever get the rotor back into place and reconnect before turning off the merge block to free the head. Lazier option is the Drill & Fill which lets you set an area which will slowly get drilled out or filled in, good for carving out right angled tunnels and rooms underground.
An underground base gives you a lot of defense against reavers and protects all your production/ medical blocks. You can used build and repair to carve a perfect cave in the side of a mountain, and they can only attack you from the front of the base.
You can just ram into the trading post to stop your ship :-D Also, if you blueprint your base and use a projector, your Build and repair drones fix all damages, you get from any attack. And finally, you can use ISY. It is a storage and production manager script.
[QoL] Production Quota! Try this mod it works great with the build n repair mod. You can set your assembler to produce a certain quantity of components. An example is say you want a 100 steel plates on hand. This mod will always make sure you have 100 steel plates in your cargo inventory.
USe metal blocks to brace the drills arme on each side. Then cut away the center area where your piston will go. Finish by removing the braces. Thanks for the fun watching my dude! Would also like a list of your mods if you don't mind.
@@ResearchMonkey437 Look into the fighter ships. They tend to have reactors and hydrogen tanks/thrusters. They can be easily remade into an ok trader ship with at least some self defence.
If you use color 321-100-50 and paint the cargo that you want to delete the nanobots will move the internal cargo for you. This will not risk damage from stuff coming out. You also risk stuff being deleted during the cleanup phase.
something you can setup, if you go into your assembler settings/control panel, and you can setup to have a specific amount for each parts, and it will keep the base inventory to that amount automatically. Also, when your in safe zones, theres no damage, you can ram into the trade ship at full speed with no damage. Also i believe if you hover over the ships in the store, it gives you a breif description of said ship.
Before purchasing a ship you can click on the image and it will give you a description of it so you kind of know what you are getting. Also love the series I have been playing for about a month but have learned a lot of tips from this series. Keep it up!

It helps you to troubleshoot if nothing else. As to your storage issues: You might want to filter out some of the stone and eject it. You have more than enough materials and what you will get from the Stone is a pittance by comparison.
from someone thats been playing along time i would recommend scripts, all of isys scripts {isys simple doors} and drill platform script and automatic LCD 2 a few mods i always add are, colorful icons, build vision,leak finder,sneaky quiet tools.
Contracts are great if you have the material. And you can find really good things, You can use ignorer color when building, designing and not having bob welding . Turn off grind not owned block.. Then you can start building blocks without power
Have a trade ship with all types of mat, some stations wants ore and ingots not mat. You can accept contracts for mats and have the ship docked. The connection stay for 15 min and you need to connect your ship again Also inventory and contracts get refreshed.
build a small ship with cargo and add several build and repair set for grind to takeover and grind neutral, and let the B&R bots grind the ships that way you don't lose reputation with other factions, once it's be ground down, u can set B&R to repair ship and then it's yours.. also like i mentioned about last video.. set ur turrets to shoot missiles aswell, would of saved ur base from most of destruction u suffered in this video also.. "Nanobot Build and Repair System Queuing / Display / Scripting" Script from workshop by dummy08 and set it up, doing so anything the build and repair bots need, the assemblers will auto queue, therefore you don't need to manually keep queuing build jobs.

You need the "gravel sifter" mod. Turns all that useless gravel into usable resources. Give small amounts of all resources. You keep overwhelming the bots. Stop destroying things that have inventory within them. It just makes more and more work for the bots to do.
How about a big vertical drill rover that has a landing gear attached to a piston. You drive to the ore deposit lower the landing gear lock it, unfold the drill and drill straigt down, but wheels are kinda weird and you would need a lot
I admire your work on space egineers, but shouldn't you build 3 more ships. One for scraping, building, and a fighter. Also a big land vehicle to carry your scarp and mining ship to not waste their fuel. These are suggestions and ideas. Forgot to also say add some weapons on them
Put down an AI defense block, it cranks up your weapons range up to I think 2 km though I’m not sure if the range is right. But it has more range then the enemy’s so at the time they open fire they’re already targeted by your weapons
I saw on another channel they used a decoy block, it makes the ai target that instead of your more valuable blocks (dunno if its a mod thing or not, my experience with SE is limited to watching only a few let's play)
At 33:11 you are all over the place, in no order, it is more like playing with emotion rather than concentrating on construction. You managed to destroy the 2 assemblers that were connected to something, but instead you decided to build the one that is not connected to anything. I wasn't following your gameplay but I saw that you built a functional BuildAndRepair I know this is 4 months old, but still relevant.

The title screen ..."Space Engineers" is off screen-- "Pace Enginee" Pressing the "T" keys will stop the auto-rotation of the block Hacking blocks Cryo/ control/ flight/ Remote / survival ... unless you load Mods like "Hostile Takeover" Build and repairs and the assembler Inventory got fill up when you grinded the lg cargo inside Putting H2 bottles into Hydrogen Tanks will fill up the bottle also ... you may need to click the the auto refill in the "K" menu Slow down...
I'm pretty sure you haven't set up the build and repair properly. Once you do that everything that needs building they organise the materials. If you haven't got a programable block with the build and repair script on it then I'm right.

I could hear them in my first 10 hours giggling before I got the speed-up mod and I hit my space base.
100 m/s is a bit over the Lamborghini Aventador's top speed, which is extremely fast for a car but feels slow as hell in space.

you use some merge blocks with a piston to extend it
There's some mountains around you that would be perfect for some off grid turrets with their own BOB's, maybe scatter a few decoys out there

You'll make a lot more doing contracts but you have to deliver the full quantity they ask for at once so you'll need a cargo transport of some kind.
You really should do the contracts. You can get alot of money for some of them. They add up really quick getting you to the ship you want quicker.

The economy stations reset about every 20 mins randomly switching some or all of what the buying/ selling

you really need to turn off your beacon because beacons and antennae alert reavers

You need Whips Auto Door programmable block script. It will close your doors automatically. I also recommend ISY's Inventory Manager.
