This video seems to be getting a lot of views lately, so I think it's about time to create an updated version of it for 2022 and include the newer stuff like the Dyson Supersonic and Shark HyperAIR. Drop a like if you agree!
Agree but could you please include options other than the dyson! There are so many dyson reviews and as someone who cannot even remotely afford one, I’m desperate for a guide with more affordable options that are still good quality.
I recently went shopping for a new hair dryer, at the store there were so many different hair dryers with prices ranging from 15 to 60. I didn't know which one to buy and was so overwhelmed that I ended up not buying a hair dryer at all! This video was really helpful! Next time I'll know which one will be the best for me. Thank you💚

i have to admit i was skepticle about clicking on this because i have long hair and you have short hair, i never needed to use one before because i shower at night and just leave it like that, but your video is amazing, extremely helpful
Ionic hair dryers make my hair greasy. I couldn't figure out why at first until I took back the T3 dryer I had and bought a ceramic one. I tried a few other ionic ones with the same result. They also don't do much for volume. The best hair dryer IMO is one with an ion switch. I have an Avanti Turbo and I blow dry my hair until it's pretty much dry then switch on the ions for the last minute or two. That tends to smooth my hair without making the oils in my scalp go crazy or my hair totally flat.
Just got my Herstyle Hair Dryer that you recommended.. I had NO IDEA how AWESOME this thing is !!! It's AMAZING !!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH !!!!! I love it so much !!!!!
Update: A year or so after making this video, I got the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. There’s no turning back - it’s the best I’ve ever used without question. If you can afford it, go for it.
Thank you sooooo much for this video! It was awesome! I would love, love, love for you to do an update for 2018! Pleeeeeze! I keep hearing about Tourmaline, for one thing. And there are so many high quality professional blow driers now... I’d like to invest in a real quality blow dryer, but it’s very overwhelming! Thanks again!
Boy howdy I’m here because my roommate and I destroyed my cheap hairdryer melting some glass and aluminum in a pit we dug in the yard and using it for drying paintings faster 😅😅
Thanks ! I'm a rocker with hair down to my butt, but guys gotta look good, too. I just clicked on the link to the Herstyler Hair Dryer and bought my "investment" .
I’ve been meaning to do a vid but haven’t yet. Seriously though it is hands down the best. My stylist tried mine once and immediately went out and bought her own after haha! I had to have it fixed at one point so had to go back to a regular dryer for a while. It was a bummer lol, the regular one dried sooo much slower and my hair didn’t feel as smooth after.
This was such an honest review, it was hard looking for one without an affiliate code attached. I was going to buy the herstyler but it’s been taken off amazon 😞 is there another blow dryer you would recommend?
Glad you liked the video! Aw that’s a bummer, that really is a nice blow dryer for a cheap price. These days I’ve just been using the Dyson Supersonic - they’re very expensive, but you can get a refurbished one for about half the price of new. To be honest it has been life changing. I’m planning to do a review vid for it someday soon!
That is not how power works. 15 amp max because the plug standard x 120v = 1800w max but you are not allowed to make any device over 80% of max for more than 30 sec so 1440w max. Unless you are in a 220v country of course. The plug would need to have a horizontal and vertical pin with a ground to be any higher than that in the US.
Thank you so much for taking your time in explaining every feature. I have curly hair, and finally I have the correct knowledge to buy a real hair dryer.
Happy to help! Also, since making this video I’ve gotten a Dyson dryer. Honestly it is sooo worth the money. They’re expensive, but you can get a refurb one for about $250. Worth every penny.
Just bought a new dryer, Conair "Infiniti Pro" for $40 (regular 50, currently on sale), as my current Revlon one isn't producing much heat anymore. If anything it's kinda warm, not even close to hot. Hope it's good...
Hi, what a great information, thank you. Can you please recommend for me a good hair dryer I'm confused between Elchim and Remington, which one is better and if there anything else that could be like them as well..? Thanks in advance
Thank you so much. Do you recommend one that can be mounted at a wall? will the blow dryer be OK if it only has ceramic but not negative IONS? i'm looking for the first blow dryer
TDM Style I wish it was still in stock on Amazon! I ended up purchasing the next best thing I could find- thanks to your guide. Hopefully you can do more shopping guides! There’s so many blow out brushes and flat irons to chose from.
Very useful video, thank you One question please For someone who is frequently traveling, what is the best convenient type i can buy? Since big hair dryers won't fit the travel bag I was thinking of the mini foldable one What do you think about it ? And any recommendations ?
Good question - I've never had very great results with mini versions and they seem to usually just be metal heat components that get way too hot. But if you could find one from a decent brand like Babylon, it might be alright!
To be honest it's really hard to compare to the Dyson. I love that thing. But a very close second is definitely the Shark HyperAir - about half the price, but the same level of power. Great stuff!
1. 2000 to 2400 wattage
2. Ceramic coating
3. Negative ions
4. Removable inlet

@@jetpacksfortheneedy The new video is up and has plenty of info besides the Dyson!
@@TDMStyle Oh that’s great! I’ll go ahead and watch it, thanks for being so generous and sharing your expertise ❤️ you’re a gem!
Fuck the dyson and the shark. The reason I found your video was because you didn’t bother with those meme dryers.
FINALLY found a helpful video on blowdryers, thank you!
+Nina Stokhuyzen Happy to help!
Me too, I was two days looking for a professional material like this... Really helpful
Omg just realised I didn’t know anything about hair dryers 🤣🤣. Soo useful, thank you
Ok, this was extremely helpful!! I get frizzy hair after I blow dry and it’s so nice to know it’s my crappy cheap hairdryer haha
Happy to help!
omg same!
What difference would it make if you had a more expensive one?
@@berkhangut4751 but like what difference would it make if you had a more expensive one?
Well done. Short, straight to the point. I knew nothing about hairdryers, now I know all I need to make a first buy.

+Tony Thanks so much man, I appreciate that!
Tony nice job.
0:36 when you say $50 "and up," it kinda terrifies me a little bit lol
I mean, the Dyson is sooo worth it though lol
@@TDMStyle If my landlord ever decides gives me a month off my rent, I'll buy the Dyson

Speed is important if you have curly hair and you want to add definition. A low speed setting wont disturb your curls!
What hair blower do you recommend for curly hair?😫
