That would definitely work. It makes sense to basically imply that the events of Peacemaker played out in the DCU almost exactly like they did in the DCEU. Although we watched identical variants of this crew do it, you missed nothing by being here now seeing their counterparts tell Guy and Mr. T that they were too late to be helpful.
Gunn did just say in an interview with IGN that there will be a couple of big characters in Creature Commandos who play small roles/cameos who will be voiced by VO actors who will not be playing them in live action. Only the major actors who are in CC (like Frank Grillo) will be also playing live action. Stating all of that to say that Sgt. Rock may be in CC but not voiced by Craig.
Great show guys! SGT Rock hits with me in many fashions. I read the comics which Max Brooks who wrote "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z" books was involved. Also, I collected those SGT Rock toys and playsets that expanded my backyard battle world building too. I am glad to see James Gunn is going for some deep cuts and not rely only the heroes and villains to build DC moving forward.
I think this Sgt Rock movie could be awesome especially if they get the JSA and maybe even Wonder Woman involved. Also Gunn said that there are some characters with MINOR roles in Creature Commandos (a couple of lines i guess) who may not be voiced by the same actor in live action. Im guessing Craig hasnt signed yet so Sgt Rock could be voiced by someone else
I would think Gunn wouldn't just repeat Wonder Woman appearing in WWII in the DCU despite her being alive and possibly involved elsewhere, but the interesting thing in a Sgt. Rock movie despite him being human is indeed who else will populate the supporting and antagonizing cast of characters.
